The Drop

Phantom

When life has always thrown curveballs at you, don't you begin to accept them? What I mean is, when good things start to happen, don't you (after getting it all the time) wait for the impending thud of the shoe dropping and something bad going on?

That's how I feel right now. I have a good job, I have a loving boyfriend and I'm finally doing well in school, but I hate to say that I'm just waiting for something bad to happen. I've gotten so used to life getting me down that it's weird when it doesn't. It's like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop and I start to get a tiny bit depressed when it doesn't because it feels like it will at any moment.

I guess i'm just being stupid, but I had to get it out of my system.

However I can relate... but Eric, focus on the good, and tackle the shit when it happens, don't keep expecting it to jump out at you from the next corner

Like Steve said, just enjoy what you got while you got it becuase if you just wait for the bad, you'll forget about all the good and you'll never be able to enjoy yourself.

I think you've had enough thwaps. However, people often want to believe that bad times are impending. I have had this problem on more than one occasion. This doesn't means that it was good thing for me to feel that way. In fact, it's definitely a bad thing. I figured out that such thinking was the cause of my depression, anxiety, and even occasional agitation. I have learned that it's best just to let it go. I'm in a stage of life where I know I have to make changes that will lead to my happiness. It's not easy to allow oneself to leave the worry behind, but it is a necessary step.

A story I am reading "The Journey of Love" by Scotty, a quote "Forget Yesterday, Look forward for Today and Tomorrow"

I agree with Tiger. I am in between curve balls right now. I guess I had some singles. But, no home runs.

I am trying to pick myself up and trying to get a feel for whats out there. Not very good at it but I am trying.

I think from the quote we all have to look on how we all will build our future from today to tomorrow.

Right now the world is hurting and you probably are feeling it or seeing your neighbors or friends are hurting.

Definitely talk with your boyfriend and engage on looking forward.
