Hi ya:

This is my first post, so if I violate any rules please let me know :).

I am writing to invite you to read the beginning of my story "Chasing Saturday: The Flamingo Fairy Tales" (the first three chapters). It is a comedic-mystery with a gay hero.

___

Evan 'Saturday' Lucas, a recent transplant from Minneapolis to Galveston, is the not altogether-unwilling apprentice to the private investigator Megan Connor. Mostly, he enjoys being spectator to Megan's exploits as her dedicated clerical assistant. Megan, for her part, is insistent in her tutelage and seems driven to improve Evan on all levels.

On a forced march along West Beach on Galveston Island they hear gunshots and then find two bodies. Not long after, Saturday is nearly killed in a car-jacking and two more bodies are found.

Saturday doesn't really want to be a detective. Moreover, he isn't really suited to it. Still, he is oddly fascinated by the profession and like a mosquito to a bug-zapper, he is drawn firmly onto a road that Destiny has surfaced with murder, heart-break, broken flamingos, and love.

I welcome any thoughts (good or bad) you might have about the story.

Thank you so much.

So I haven't managed to totally figure out the deal :). Can I post part of my story in a thread? If so where?

Here?

Maybe the first three or four pages?

Should it be in another folder?

Thanks for any info!

Demo.

You can try posting it in the Sneak Peak's forum, though most of the time the people posting there will follow up with posting in eFiction, rather than having the story at another site.
