methodwriter85 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Before I go on to Chapter 18, I gotta say...I've discovered a lot of great tunes I'd never heard of before, like "Wait For Me" by H&O and "Drive All Night". It's been fun doing this. Chapter 18 -When Brad and Lark have a fun weekend in Los Angeles, and see "Xanadu". "Magic" by Olivia Newton John -When Brad and Robbie break down and admit how much they missed each other over the weekend, and talk about Doug and Jake. "Since You've Been Gone" by Rainbow -When Brad and Robbie kiss on the pier at San Francisco, where for that one moment everything is perfect... "Dreamin'" by Blondie
Conner Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Chapter 18 was great! They've all been great. Suberb dialogue. So, seeing as Be Rad started in 2008, I hope you realize you can still be nominated for "King of Cliffhangers" for the GA awards. That was a nasty one, particularly if Robbie's unconscious. I did that Alcatraz tour eons ago. I've been trying to remember how rough the water was, but can't recall. I'm sitting here until chapter 19 is posted. :2hands: Conner

Isn't the Alcatraz tour amazing? I think it's one of the coolest things, if only for the magnificent views of The City. But to really experience the prison thing (without the rough anal sex and confinement...you have to go back into the City and pay money for that ) you need to go there on a foggy day. You miss the great view, but the sense of isolation is eerie, almost overwhelmingly so. I don't want to take anything away from the Goat, so the cliffhanger won't last long. Expect 19 tonight sometime.
sat8997 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Well shoot! Guess I should stop goofing off and work on chapters 20,21, and 22, huh?
Conner Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Thanks for chapter 19 so quickly. It was worth the blitz novena I did while waiting! I particularly enjoyed listening to Brad speak to Robbie and then sensing that Robbie had kissed him back. Yes, Alcatraz was fantastic. It was so totally cool. My excitement doubled when the guide said Al Capone did time there. He also said that one of the main corridors had been nicknamed "Broadway". Thoroughly enjoyed it. Conner
Mark Arbour Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 Well shoot! Guess I should stop goofing off and work on chapters 20,21, and 22, huh? That would be a good idea. I'll let the readers know to head to your house with torches.

"Follow You, Follow Me" by Genesis

"Follow You, Follow Me" by Genesis Jeremy, Great choices. You inadvertently picked my favorite Genesis song Edited January 18, 2009 by Mark Arbour
Conner Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 That would be a good idea. I'll let the readers know to head to your house with torches. Ok, so I have my torch...and let me tell you, this torch would make Olympians green with envy. So what's the address, eh? Uhhh....is she really a goddess! She doesn't have, like powers, does she? Well, you know, I have very high "secuity of the self"needs. I mean, will she kick my butt! Conner
methodwriter85 Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Chapter 20 -When Robbie wakes up, and they officially become boyfriends. For a couple minutes, anyways. "Baby, I Love You" by the Ramones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBLVe-BUhck -When Brad walks out, pissed that Robbie is wavering about standing up to his parents. "Don't Drop My Love" by Anita Ward Chapter 21 -Robbie confronts the Hayes about sending him to Christian school, and refuses to go. "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" by Pink Floyd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUASiDg-kg4 -Robbie and Brad sprint out of Escorial and drive to San Francisco. "Go West" by The Village People Chapter 22 -Robbie and Brad walk around the gay culture of San Francisco. "YMCA" by The Village People -Robbie and Brad discover the hustlers, talk to one of them, and find Jake among them. "Bad Girls" by Donna Summer -Brad and Jake clear the air about all the shit that happened, before Brad lets Jake be taken in by Stefan and Greg. "Can We Still Be Friends?" by Todd Rundgren *** Hope you guys enjoyed it. I think my "discovery", aka a song I'd never really heard before but really like, would be "Can We Still Be Friends"? And I thought it was wildly appropriate for the dynamic between Jake and Brad. I also really liked the Ramones cover of "Baby I Love You", which I wasn't familiar with.
Conner Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Well, you did say that you had plans for Jake. Poor dude. It's hard not to be sympathetic with him despite his messed-up behaviour in recent chapters. He needs serious support right now. It's great that Robbie grew a pair and stood up to his parents, something he couldn't have done without Brad's support. I really enjoyed watching Robbie's mom go nuts with her anger and frustration. All things considered, though, I was surprised at Frank's behaviour. It seems he's a wee bit pussy-whipped. The story's going great! Conner

sat8997 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Hang in there. One of my "team" members went skiing. And it wasn't me. So Conner keep your...uh...torch to yourself.
methodwriter85 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Chapter 23 -When J.P. talks to Jake. "Whip It" by Devo -When Frank and Robbie have it out, and make up. "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley
Mark Arbour Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Chapter 23 -When J.P. talks to Jake. "Whip It" by Devo -When Frank and Robbie have it out, and make up. "Redemption Song" by Bob Marley Some Reggae! I love it.
Conner Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Needless to say, it was a pleasant surprise to see chapter 24 posted so soon. I hate having to hold my breath. When Robbie exits from JP's study and announces the good reverend's proposition, I damn near died laughing. Who cares if it's true? Good one, Robbie. I'm glad that Frank got his priorities straightened out. It's cool to have straight sex in the story. Obviously, the gay dudes aren't the only ones getting laid. Superb chapter!

Conner Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 25 was a sweet sweet chapter. Great dialogue, sex, cute stuff. a touch of violence and some excellent lines...who could ask for more! I really liked (both from Brad, of course): Gee, Dan, I'm sorry you're an asshole! and Everyone loves me better. I'm enjoying Claire's character. She's a sweetheart! Conner

methodwriter85 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Before I start, I've gotta note that YouTube has been pulling off music lately because of WMG copyright claims, so some of the links I've posted don't work anymore. If that happens, you have the title and the artist, so go crazy, alright? *wink* Chapter 28 Music Recomendations -When Mouse relates the abuse he's suffered at the hands of his parents. "Hell is For Children" by Pat Benetar I was so worried that this song might have been an '81 song instead of '80...you guys should've heard the "whoop!" I let out when I read that this was part of the Pat Benetar album that came out in August 1980. It was too perfect for that moment to pass up. -When Mouse is given his makeover at the Stanford Shopping Center. "Look Sharp" by Joe Jackson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RtOilzTqcw Enjoy!
methodwriter85 Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Chapter 29 Music Recomendations -When Brad and Robbie have sex with Mouse to comfort him. "Could You Be Loved?" by Bob Marley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU6olL5ByIM
