Seeing that Nick hasn't started a subforum for this story...yet...this will tide us over. :D

As Nick mentioned in his announcement, Staying Together is the "long awaited" sequel to Staking My Claim and My Jump Off. :2thumbs:

Phillip's in charge this time around, well, at least, chapter 1 is told by Phillip. I've been wanting this for so long now. :wub:

Chapter 1 is great. Nick, you haven't lost the touch! :worship::worship:

Thanks Conner,

I'm waiting to ask for a new subforum to be added until my page is updated to reflect that the story is in progress. Steph's working on that and it won't be long at all. In the meanwhile I'm quite a few chapters ahead on this story. I'm trying to get as much finished as I can before I have to start my fall semester. I'm not sure how that's gonna work out with my writing and with work, but I promise to get as far ahead as possible so I can at least post one or hopefully two chapters a week.

TIA Guys!

Awesome...

My Jump Off is the original, then came Staking My Claim, so definitely go in that order. BTW, just an advance warning, MJO was one of my very first stories, so if it seems kinda amateur like, that's because it was written by one :)

Well honey, we all have to start somewhere, right? Plus, you should give yourself more credit than that! At least you stuck both feet in the water with eyes wide open!! I KNOW I'll enjoy them no matter when they were written... And thanks for letting me know which one's first, I almost started on MJO!

Great chapter, Nick! :worship::worship:

I've really enjoyed listening to Phillip these last two chapters. There's a lot of insight into his past behaviour. His little sister sounds like quite the challenge.

It seems that Jarred is the only one of our four friends who's not in a difficult place right now. I'll just have to wait and see. Jarred's always been a fascinating character.

Let me say it again, glad you're back, Nick! :2thumbs:

Great beginning to this story, Nick. It's an interesting situation among the four friends that I hope will work out for all.

My favorite line in chapter 2: "And maybe if frogs had wings, they wouldn't bump their ass every time they used their legs." ROFLMAO.gif

Thanks Everyone for your compliments and for even reading my story. It means so much to me.

Just a quick update to let you know that Chapter Three has been sent in, so expect it to be announced soon.

Great chapter, Nick! :worship::worship:

I've never been a big fan of cars, even as a young man. Although I certainly appreciate the attachment that many guys get toward their set of wheels. You did a good job of describing Philip's reaction to getting his "burgundy beauty" back from the dealership. No charges??? Now that was harder to believe! :P

So we've got some serious drama coming our way in the next chapter. You set that up nicely.

Another excellent chapter, Nick! :worship::worship:

I think this was the first time we've had a closer look at at Kyle K. I enjoyed that immensely. It's rare for a young person to escape unscathed from a relationship with an abusive parent. I don't imagine Kyle will be any different, but he's definitely a survivor. Perhaps he will get some closure from his father's passing. I hope so. I was so pleased Philip was able to be there for him.

Philip's wrestling history was a hoot! :lmao:

If he hadn't realized it before, Philip certainly understands now that his life in blessed in having a loving family.

I can just see Philip rolling his eyes as his dad started talking about his lack of a piss pot. :lmao: The pains of growing up and becoming responsible. Philip's doing well.

It was great to see Philip and Jarred be there for their friends and do the peacemaker thing.

Super dialogue in that chapter, Nick! :2thumbs:

Thanks Conner. I'm halfway into the next chapter, and should have it finished either sometime tonight or early this week. I'm trying to give Phillip's character some depth, and at the same time, build on some of the other characters and their plot lines so that I have some material for the next installment of this series :)

Another great chapter.

I wonder if Phillip is conscious of the irony when he claims to love and make love to Andrew, but realizes it is sometimes just sex for Andrew. Hello! Reflect on your relationship with Jarred, buddy.

And the descriptions of sex are genius. Very few authors seem to be able to pack a lot of sex with the style and language you do. For many authors, its just suck and f**k, suck and f**k, with no "something" (if I were a writer, I'd know the adjective I want to describe the lifeless description of what is an amazing act).

Super chapter, Nick! :worship::worship:

Great observation on Philip's character, Bryan! I agree.

Philip's relationship with Jarred has always intrigued me. My sense is Philip sees Jarred as a "bad ass" and really craves that aspect of Jarred's character. In fact, Philip's love for Andrew may well be some kind of compensation for him.

Mind you, especially for young men as these, lust often takes over while love gats tossed into the back seat.

Thanks for the compliments. With the My Jump Off/Staking My Claim/Staying Together series, there's a lot more sex than in my other stories. But I do try to keep the scenes interesting by using descriptives and some constructive metaphors. :)

I don't think Phillip minds too much, just as long as it's not the back seat of his dad's Grand Am. :pickaxe:
