I was told by a straight guy that long ago - low hanging pants (pretty much showing butt) of jail birds means that they are gay and are bottoms

 

My questions is this now in the non-jail world a myth ... more like a style ?

 

Can any one clarify?

 

Even Bieber does it - so in Jail birds ... is he gay and a bottom?

It is true that in the jailbird world lowriding pants does mean your back end is open for business, but the vast majority of people outside that circle doesn't have the faintest clue. Furthermore, the colour of bandana hanging out the back pocket of said lowriding pants is supposed to have something to do with how far you're willing to go I might try that fashion someday, but my hips are shaped kinda funny so pants have to be all the way up or just plain off--or they'll end up the latter on their own in two or three steps.

I really doubt sagging identified gay bottoms in prison. In prison, there are few pant sizes, not guaranteed to fit 100%. They don't distribute belts for suicide/fighting reasons (they also don't give out shoelaces) so basically some guys walk around with sagging pants. When rap was becoming popular, a lot of rappers would focus on their stints in prison, which is how sagging became a trend, to look like a prison convict. I bet someone just made up the story that sagging was a way for others to identify a gay bottom. It's just another way to play something off as "that's GAY" so they won't do it. In my opinion, it's a bit homophobic to say if you dress this way, you're gay and retarded, especially when it's obviously not true.

 

As for bottoms, I wouldn't say lazy either, it's just preference.

I don't think bottoms are control freaks nor are they lazy. If anything, in most cases bottoms have little control during sex and the top usually dictates the pace and what happens. Not true all the time, but true most of the time. Thats how they get the stereotype that bottoming is for the 'girl' of the relationship and the weaker of the two.

I can only imagine this annoys the teachers ... the student can get pantsed easily ... it looks bad if they run and someone tackles them and then suddenly they fly out of their pants and shorts - running 1/2 naked.

Thanks for the reply ... I just read somewhere sagging dates back further than prison ... and it comes with the belief ... you can't make a run for it if your pants fall off ... I am also finding there are other social \ political issues with sagging pants

 

hehe ... now I am finding issues with overly baggy pants ... like carrying concealed weapons ... or its great for martial arts ... found someone elses humor that gay's would not be caught dead in with baggy or saggy pants but tight leather pants ... yeah its getting to be a complicated issue

 

I am finding it to be another TSA worker's nightmare to meet up with a sagging or baggy pants ... but recently there's a guy that undress down to speedo's to await for his x-ray and pat down ... bypass ... There is bagginess I seem to imagine at times is where you can fit 3 skinny guys in one pants ... its like giving a 12yo a XXL pants and a belt

Its not too bad of a style depending on the underwear but its bad if they are not wearing any underwear.

 

The bigger issue is when they wear so low that the pants or bordies is below their butt.

It sounds like their daring to wear a controversial style ... daring to those to be offended.

I presume some know it and to those that don't ... it be a surprise in the negative sense.

sometimes huge parkas are necessary for Canadian winters...i've experienced temperatures as low as -45'C....

 

However, I agree that the low hanging pants and "gangsterism" is getting old. Fast. Toronto seems to be full of wannabe gangsters and it just makes me roll me eyes every time I see them.
