jazziebabe Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I absolutely love fanfictions.. i think they are awesome. My friends call it parody but i don't think it is. it's just another creative way to look at an already magnificent written or screen played work!!
Site Administrator Myr Posted February 11, 2011 Site Administrator Posted February 11, 2011 That's a good way of looking at them.
Johnathan Colourfield Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 For me, Fan Fiction is a replication someone gives that much respect to a writer they agree to write something about their work. Take comsie's GFD for example, SO MUCH FANFICTION has come from that Or even a published author, J K Rowling, I mean even the big honcho has his own piece here
AndyM Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Don't want to bust anyone's bubble, but Fan Fiction is a lazy way to write ... the background and characters are already developed for you. Nevertheless, some of it (including stuff here) is really good.
Site Administrator Myr Posted February 15, 2011 Site Administrator Posted February 15, 2011 There are some strategic reasons for writing FanFiction as well.
eric5748 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I find I have to disagree with AnydM's response that writing fanfiction is the lazy way. Not only have I very much enjoyed a few that are written, and every bit as good as, or in some cases better than the original, MYR, that's definitely to you. Anyway, I too am a writer, and I tried writing a Fanfic once, and it didn't work at all, because I found it was really hard to work within someone else's mold. I find it much easier to create my own worlds in my own mind, so maybe that's the more lazy way to write, at least for me it is at any rate. Either way, I suppose both ways have their unique challenges, but I enjoy it, it's great stress relief.
