Erotic gay art.

Hello! I've just joined Gay Authors and intend, soon, to submit a story or two. However, would you happen to know of any sites of this quality, that specialise in sharing erotic artwork? I've a collection of simple, erotic pencil and charcoal drawings, some kinky, which I wish to share with serious minded individuals, and to indeed be encouraged or advised by them (and vice versa). I would be most grateful for any suggesions.

Have you taken a look around the Gallery here. There is some very nice art. You might want to consider putting some of your work in there. I work in acrylic myself but there are quite a few artists who have pencil drawings or pen and ink, that kind of thing. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see your work.

It depends on how overt your 'erotic' portion of the art is. I think the most graphic I have seen has been by Aikirangel in the gallery, https://www.gayauthors.org/forums/gallery/album/207-aikirangel/ He's deleted most of his old pics but he has a few left here. The only thing is the 'no nudity' rule on GA. Your best bet before posting anything you think might be over the line would be to let the mods/admin have a look at them and say yea or nay so that they don't get pulled. I personally love erotic art, as long as it's tasteful. I don't make it myself, I do nature photography, but I always appreciate it when done well.

Ummm one of mine is naked. Should I pull it? You can't actually see anything; no dangly bits, just a butt cheek and some bare legs. Atleast i think there is only one.

I know the one you talk of Nephy and as it's art and not graphic I don't see anything wrong with it. No one has complained anyway The only thing is that naked yet not graphic erotic art versus graphic erotic art are two separate ball games. It really is a judgement call which is why I suggested the 'team' approach if the art in question is overtly graphic and and/or showing a lot of frontal nudity. You never know until you ask, right?

Hello, and thanks very much for your response. I'm not sure how I could describe my art, save that I seem to have pursued similar themes for many years, perhaps like yourself - I note from your site that you take an interest in bondage of one form or another. This is a theme that interests me too, and in my simple drawings the "masculine" man is the one in bondage or submission. All quite dark, I guess, and, alas, would not be appropriate for this site, as nakedness is portrayed.

In regard to story or novels, would you have any idea of how the copyright rule applies to work appearing on the Internet? Whilst I don't pretend that my novel will emerge as a masterpiece, I nonetheless would be a little aggrieved if it appeared all over the Internet.

when you post a story it is very clearlly marked that the copyright remains with you. Of course, there is no guarantee that it won't appear over the internet but you will have proof of ownership and wil be able to force them to take it down. ALSO if somene takes it and makes a fortune out of it then all the money is YOURS

 

I do have an interst in bondage. In my stories it isn't portrayed very well. i think I made it clear in my disclaimer that, it is not as it is portrayed. The intention of the bondage in Love In Chains was to reflect the bondage of the dangerous manipulation and dependence of the emotional aspect.

 

I suppose I should write a story showing the more acceptable side... which is what i have been involved in, as much as it is ever 'aceptable' to much of the general population.

 

Anyway... ths isn't about me.

Thanks for your response. I don't know whether you ever read a book by Somerset Maughn, entitled "Of Human Bondage". It described the kind of dependance that you speak of, and described a man's infatuation with a waitress called Mildred. He does not like himself for being in such "bondage", but cannot quite break free. The whole of the book describes the agonies of this unrequited love. Eventually, he does break free, and marries someone he doesn't "love" with quite the same intensity he loved Mildred, but whom, nevetheless he likes and feels comfortable with. A friendship, in other words - richer and more long lasting, but perhaps not quite so exciting!

Bondage scenes are often looked upon askance. What I found interesting on this site was that Nephy had quite a high reader count for her story, Love in Chains, but very few people commented compared to her normal responses to stories. For a large portion of her posting it was just Connor and I making comments. I do think that people are a bit shy to admit to finding the subject titillating, really anything other than freaky. Deviant behavior and all that

 

By all means, if you wish to get your artwork vetted perhaps you can load a few varied examples into an album on a photo sharing website like photobucket or flickr, or if you have an account on deviantart, I can view the images there as I have an account. Then provide the link to the mods/admin so we can discuss it and get you an answer. You could send me the link in a pm to keep your material private if you like and I can start a topic in the private moderator forum.
