Maybe I'm being a stubborn fanboy here but that person in the trailer is NOT Dante. So no matter what they call this thing it's not a Devil May Cry game.

The game's set in an alternate universe and is non-canon. So basically it's just a way for them to make money.

It's a reboot. As cool as Dante was, he didn't REALLY have much of a personality. Dante in this game is younger. Much younger than in the previous games. It doesn't mean he won't ever have silver hair, he just doesn't have it at this point in time. When he's in "Devil Trigger" mode, he has white hair, and looks like classic Dante. I'm assuming (I admit this is pure speculation) this means at some point in the game he's going to embrace his power and demonic nature, and will end up looking like his old self.

 

TL;DR

 

Same Dante, new story, can't possibly be worse than DMC2.
