Mariano Rivera's Final All Star Appearance

Sometimes baseball does it absolutely right. Sending Mariano Rivera out on the field alone so he could accept the reverence of tens of thousands ahead of his teammates was really classy.

 

The Number 42 is finally retired from All Star appearances and will be fully retired at the end of the season. Rivera is the last grandfathered player to carry Jackie Robinson's number.

That was a great move by MLB and Mariao has been a credit to the sport.  I'm sure the Yankees will retire that number in his honor too, as well as out of respect for Jackie Robinson.
