This is such an interesting Youtube video, plus all the Babylon 5 references and physics equation. JamesSavik Posted September 25, 2013 Share Posted September 25, 2013 In my fiction there are three types of weapons: Mag Guns: Often called rail guns, a chunk of depleted uranium jacketed in steel is accelerated to a significant fraction of light speed. Missiles: There are a wide variety of missiles deployed by different types of platforms. Warheads vary by mission profile. Mass Drivers: Fire big rocks at planetary targets to kill people and break things quite efficiently. Mag Guns and Mass Drivers take their power from the equation Ek=mv2/2 where m=mass and v=velocity.
