Palantir Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Oh No! Another icon has gone. I just heard that this legendary singer has died. Well, he lives on in the legacy of his songs and influence.
Aditus Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 The only way he keeps from singing is death, but like Iarwain said he will be remembered through his songs. How can I keep from singing.
Bill W Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 The songs tend to live on, long after the singer has passed. Something similar also happens with a good book or fine work of art. He, along with many other, has left a piece of himself that we will always be able to cherish. R.I.P. Pete Seeger. . 1
rustle Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 A life well-lived. Not just a giant in music, but a tireless activist all his long life. PBS airs a documentary of his life from time to time. If you get the chance to watch it, it's worth the time.
Daddydavek Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 RIP Pete! His contributions included anthems including "If I had a hammer!" which is one of my favorites. I picked a video of him from 1963 singing it in Australia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5G4YPNGnVE
rustle Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 (edited) Here's something I just found of some of his early work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr9FP93o8Ro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDBtrzka2X4 Edited January 29, 2014 by rustle
W_L Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Not my genre or generation, but still an amazing singer and individual. Hope we "shall overcome" his lost. R.i.p Pete
