The next time someone asks if you are from a one horse town? You can look them straight in the face and say with a twinkle in your eyes, at least we have a horse, it could be worse.

From itty to bitty: Canada's tiniest town gets

even tinier.

I guess if there are only four of you and at least three of you are the town government, you can have the town pay for things most expect residents to pay themselves. Everywhere I’ve lived, either homeowners or building owners pay for garbage pickup.

At first I was going to put this post in the Make Us Laugh section. But once I saw them all, some where down right disturbing and left to many questions. Here they are, you figure them out if you can.

As usual I never know what the reaction my Do You Know questions will be. This Antarctica one seems to have caused a bit of a stir.

This is the last reference I will post on it, my only comment being this last ones' reference to 0(zero) as an answer was telling.

Jiffy (time)

History & Usage

6DE88-blink-of-an-eye.jpg

A.

jiffy in Technology
1. The duration of one tick of the computer's system clock. Often one AC cycle time (1/60 second in the US and Canada, 1/50 most other places), but more recently 1/100 sec has become common.
2. Confusingly, the term is sometimes also used for a 1-millisecond wall time interval. Even more confusingly, physicists semi-jokingly use "jiffy" to mean the time required for light to travel one foot in a vacuum, which turns out to be close to one *nanosecond*.

B.

Noun

blink of an eye - a very short time (as the time it takes the eye to blink or the heart to beat); "if I had the chance I'd do it in a flash"

mo, moment, second, minute, bit - an indefinitely short time; "wait just a moment"; "in a mo"; "it only takes a minute"; "in just a bit"

To most of us, a stone is just a stone. To Akie Nakata, some are so much more.

Ray Kroc once owned the San Diego Padres (1974-84). The year he bought them, they lost 102 games. He died in January of the year the Padres won the ‘World Series.’

Did you know? That he and Walt Disney trained together as ambulance drivers during WW I. They both lied about their ages to get in.

I may not agree with all that you say, but I have to say thank you for taking the time to read many of my posts. Your attention is always appreciated.

Thanks again

You keep finding interesting things to share with us. I’m sorry that I’ve gone a little too far on occasion. I am trying to be mindful of what I say.

Thank you for persisting despite the tangents I sometimes go on.

I actually had an encounter with a large(to me) clam of about 18 inches while snorkelling near Eilat on the Red Sea. About ten feet down, this quivering jellyfish(me) refused a challenge to put my hand inside it. Visions of drowning or having to cut my hand off to get free were my only thoughts, so I declined. Now, if he would of double dog dared me, who knows if I would be here today?

My doctor told me to stop drinking orange juice because it’s just sugar. I’ve cut out juice and cut way back on soda. I drink my chemicals in a different form: the water flavor drops (Mio, Crush, Kool-Aid, etc) that are bad for me in an entirely different way. But at least they don’t contain sugar.

You have admit, none of you know what to expect when I post to this thread. Why should this one be any different!

I think most of us have been to at least one wedding, in our life time (your own doesn't count).

The 25 you will see next are not your average seen every day types of wedding. Or, maybe it's just me and that I have lead a sheltered life. You be the judge and tell me.

The video is screwed up. When you press play it will start 2/3rds of the way through. Just make the indicator go to the beginning and it will play the whole video. Sorry about that.
