Julian Alexander Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Anyways about 6 years ago, My family and i moved to thise house (yes i stayed in same school since tecnically we lied and said i lived with aunt so we could go to a school in that district). Anyways moving from that thought, At that point we finally got internet (took a lot of begging, hehe) it was the standard dial-up , so i started to look around a see what the internet really was all about (learned quickly lots of porn out there, lol). I knew i was diffrent from other boys (why does that sound familiar, Oh right most stories start of with that saying, hehe), so with the help of the internet and other said events i was finally able to tell myself that i was gay (read again back 6 yrs ago meaning i was 11 , yeah 11 hard thing to bring down on a child). Did i think it was a big deal, not really, all i knew was that i had discovred a new part of myslelf and went on my meary way until i noticed how cruel the world could, so i decided long ago that i wasnt going to be till after college and stuff (so far so good, although i have given my rents so many clues like buying gay themed books <Nothing to explicit>, watching gay themed movie, May be they are in denile meh) Back to the point, Out of luck i found nifty and then from there it let me to diffrent stories i started to read and the rest is history. Okay seriously im so far away from what i wanted this to be, hehe. So now a 6yrs later, :huh:I remeber this music video that stuck in my head. I found it on IOMFATS.org (Its Only Me From Across The Sea). Anyways how now i remeber bc i was looking at thier music and that vid kept playing in the back of my head, so i decided that i should share it with y'all. I remember long ago how i stayed up all night (It was late at night when i found it, and also the time little bro wouldnt bother me to use comp, plus rents asleep) bc i had dial-up and it loaded slowly <at this time i did not know of Save Target As..> So yeah it might be bad for y'all dial-up users, hehe (Its about 7mins long). It deals with two boys who fall in love, they look about 13-15ish (but i cant really tell since they are euro-boys/teens). The band that wrote the song is called "Sigur R
NaperVic Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Thanks for sharing Jules! That was a video that caused lots of mixed emotions . That kiss must have been awesome for both of the young men, but then I feared for Blondie cause I don't think his daddy is just going to give him a timeout. Take Care®, Vic
BoyNeedsTherapy Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Oooh, I love this video, I remember doing the dial up thing years ago, I love it! Sigur ros are awesome I have all their albums, they make really inovative music and the videos match that!
LittleBuddhaTW Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 (edited) Elton John released a song back in 1981 called "Elton's Song" (from the album The Fox), as well as a very controversial music video to go along with it. The song is about a young boy who falls in love with an older boy at school, although the theme is much more clear in the video than it is in the lyrics to the song itself. I was too young back then to even remember it (I was only three!), but from what I've read, it caused a bit of a stir. Anyway, it's a really beautiful song, and the video is as well. I had the privilege of hearing him perform it live at a solo concert (just Elton and his piano) back in 1999 in Florida. Very, very moving. The lyrics happen to be written by a famous gay activist, Tom Robinson. Staring all alone At your grace and style Cut me to the bone With your razor blade smile I watched you playing pool It's all around the school that I love you I love your gypsy hair And dark brown eyes Always unprepared For your pointed replies Cynical and lean I lie awake and dream about you If you only knew What I'm going through Time and again I get ashamed To say your name It's hard to grin and bear When you're standing there My lips are dry I catch your eye and look away Sitting in my room I've got it bad Crying for the moon They think I'm mad They say it isn't real But I know what I feel and I love you But I would give my life For a single night beside you Edited June 2, 2006 by LittleBuddhaTW
Jeff Burton Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Wow... I haven't seen that in a long time. Talk about memories and nostalgia. Thank you for posting that.
Umbathri Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Elton John has never been my type of music, though I can defenetly feel the passion behind the words and that alone makes it worth listening to, just not very often =) Never heard of Sigur Ros but am very greatful you posted that, haunting music and video, liked it a lot.
exca Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 Wow...... that's imho the only word that describes Sigur R
