Southern phrases explained

I used this phrase in the Make Us Laugh #2 forum in Humor, but I find "calf slobber" very amusing. A good southern phrase referring to meringue, preferably on banana pudding.

If, at any point, a particularly southern church going woman says the following;

"Well, Bless your heart!"
"Why just Bless your little heart!" 

She is, in fact, almost certainly calling you a dumbass.

She's calling you a dumbass in the churchiest way possible.

Southern church women are a lot like the Sweet Tea they make; They lace the otherwise bitter tasting words with so much sugar that unless you are desensitized to the diabetic brew you're liable to not even notice the veiled insults.
