Page Scrawler Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 (edited) Nolen first found a love of dance and theater when he was all of four years old, after his parents took him to see a production of Billy Elliot: The Musical at the Stratford Festival in Ontario. It was then, he knew, one day he would be performing on that same stage. And so four-year-old Nolen began taking dance classes at the Caulfield School of Dance in his hometown of Port Moody. Since then, he transferred to Pulse Dance Centre in Port Coquitlam, where he's been training for 20 hours a week! In his first performance, Nolen was cast as Michael Banks in Theatre Under the Stars' production of Mary Poppins in Vancouver. His performance earned him a Joey Award and a nomination for an Ovation Award, amid critical acclaims of success. He then played Chip in Beauty and the Beast (Dec. '17-Jan. '18) and John Bechdel in Fun Home (Feb.-Mar. 2018) at the Arts Club Theatre in Vancouver. Finally, his big break in 2018: He performed in Billy Elliot: The Musical, at the Stratford Festival, just like he'd always dreamed. In addition to his roles on the stage, he has also appeared on the big screen, in Good Boys (2019), Taking a Shot at Love (2020), and The Christmas Waltz (2020). He's an incredible dancer, and a talented actor. His spirit is the perfect embodiment of Billy Elliot. Personally, I think he needs to star in his own movie! Edited April 11, 2021 by Page Scrawler 2
