movieguy47 Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Heath Ledger blazing gay trail 03feb04 NOT quite following in Clint Eastwood's or John Wayne's footsteps, Heath Ledger will play a gay cowboy in his next film, Brokeback Mountain. The Aussie will star in the screen adaptation of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annie Proulx's short story of a secret affair between two cowboys in Wyoming in 1963. During their 20-year affair they marry women and have children. It is the first time a mainstream Hollywood film will feature explicit gay sex scenes. Proulx is best known for her novel The Shipping News, and the film will be directed by The Hulk's Ang Lee.
Site Administrator Myr Posted February 12, 2004 Site Administrator Posted February 12, 2004 oooo... now that's interesting!
Forloyn Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 indeed, I will keep my eyes out for that one.
Pyro Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Sounds interesting and can't wait to see how it turns out. Pyro :-)
FreeThinker Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Heath Ledger is certainly HOT and if this is by the same author as The Shipping News, I will make every effort to see it.
BillM Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Can't wait for this movie! I actually met Heath once and damn he is so hot
Frankenfurter Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Kewl!!! I will go see this one in a HEART beat! And, to make it weirder.....I had an online friend from Montana who was gay....and he FINALLY met another Montana cowboy/rancher secretly gay as he himself was, and they ended up together. I have lost touch with him, but the man was a sweetheart to begin with. He sent me a pic of himself, and I drooled all over my keyboard.... Ever see Tom Selleck, young, in his western movie days? Well, make him MORE handsome, and you have Brett. Same dark good looks, same moustache, and about the same height. AND rich.
EricCase Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Who's Heath Ledger again? Is he the guy who played Mel Gibson's oldest son in The Patriot?
