JamesSavik
How deep does the Hollywood BS machine go? Very. very deep apparently. How formulaic can you get? Take the fear of snakes and the fear of flying, throw in Samuel L Jackson and you get a action/adventure blockbuster. I think I'll submit a script: Spiders in a Shoe Scorpions in a Hat Crap in a Catbox Bullshit in a Hamper

Ibuprofen
I have to admit, I kind of want to see it, just to see how bad it is. Chances are I won't though, there have been a bunch of movies that I wanted to go to that I just didn't had a chance to go to, so I doubt that I'll see this one in theaters, maybe I will rent it when it's released on dvd. Speaking of movies I wanted to see but never did and renting movies, I'm going to call my mum to see if she will stop at blockbusters and pick up The Inside Man for me. Bender
While the movie itself seems very, very stupid, the soundtrack to SoaP looks Glorious: The best thing ever to hit CD stores...ever Panic! At the Disco, Jack's Mannequin, Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is..., Armor for Sleep, etc. I've died and gone to Heaven, assuming Heaven has wonderful taste in music. The only way they could improve it would be to add something by Acceptance.

glomph
It's very "high concept" as they say. The title has tested so well that they planned the first sequel months before the film even opened. I don't recall what is next. "Snakes on a Train" is more euphonious, but "Snakes on a Ship" would probably work better. Maybe before long the trilogy will be out in a boxed set, and you watch the Director's Cut. Personally, I'd go see a film called "Raccoon on a Space Shuttle." C James
Perhaps they should have called it "Snakes on a box office disaster." Anyone actually seen it yet? I won't be, but I'm curious if the plot is as awful as it sounds. According to the release, someone releases hundreds of poisonous snakes on a plane in order to kill one witness. That has to be the most formulaic and contrived plot I've ever heard! Perhaps the movie will find it's true calling in the medical field: there are many people who suffer from insomnia. Personally, I'd go see a film called "Raccoon on a Space Shuttle." Same here.
Kurt
Hmmm...Snakes on a Plane? ...What's it about? Ben, I am not quite sure. Maybe it is a plane that is carrying snakes to a new area? Haha. Kurt
JamesSavik
In the year 2012 an astronomer discovers that in six months an asteroid will collide with the earth destroying all life. NO problem! A highly trained international team of astronauts is ready to save the earth. They didn't count on a stow-away. Raccoon on a Space Shuttle Staring: Robert Hayes as Mission Commander Stryker Leslie Nielson as the President Billy Bob Thornton as the folksy Mission Control Guy Scott Bakula as the nice, sincere guy that gets killed in a loud grotesque manner Margeret Cho as the brilliant, neurotic Mission Specialist Jolene Blalock as the super-sexy Co-pilot/distraction Dave Chappell as the nice, funny black guy that gets killed in a loud, grotesque manner. Jerry O'connell as the young, heroic astronaut that gets killed in a loud, grotesque manner. Rockey Raccoon as Angry Raccoon- the psycotic raccoon that jumps on your head. In space, no one can hear you fart. Coming to a theatre this Christmas!
C James
BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JAmes, that was great, but I note that it's a more realistic and imaginative plot than "Snakes on a Plane".
Masked Monkey
Ok, I took the kids to see it, and it was the ONLY movie at the theater I wanted to see. YES I WANTED to see it. I know there are two members out there who will also appreciate it. It takes a certain kinda person to overlook the obvious ploy to get the snakes and the people on the plane. Bottom line it was a FUN movie. If you can appreciate Kingdom of the Spiders or The Flesh Eaters, then Snakes on a Plane is the movie for you. :king: Snow Dog

Umbathri
Slither? Fangs at 20,00 Feet? Venom in the Overhead? Rattlers in the Luggage? Copperheads in the Carry-Ons? Thanks for reminding me I didnt get to see slither when it was in the theaters, Ill be looking for it on dvd As for snakes on a plane, I might rent it if the 'friend' review makes it out to be watchable, but I wont hold my breath. But on a positive note its obviously ment to be, ...well obvious, and campy whats wrong with that? Did none of you like EVIL DEAD? talk about a cult classic campy movie....
