  1. Not a problem to cruise in from Palm Springs. Where is the location?
  2. Good article in Huff Post from an old friend of mine who has handled P.R. for several celebrities: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/howard-bragman/miles-to-go-before-we-sle_b_1678301.html It's cool to see men like Anderson Cooper 'officially' come out...but we've got a long way to go.
  3. Yikes, another one down! Had a pleasant day . . . kinda quiet after celebrating the BIG DAY on Sunday. Went out a shopped for myself. Here's to a great 2012!
  4. And a big thank you! I'm definitely working on bringing Brock back (and Aaron) in a new novel...just in the thinking stage.

The characters will be a big part of my next novel. Yes, Brock had a 'come to Jesus' moment and slipping from sobriety will be not an issue. I'll find time this weekend to read your story.

No editing problems at all. BTW, one of my editors has asberger syndrome and is a very valued member of my team. Thanks for the support.

Hey Connor, always great to hear from you.

Glad you enjoyed it. We'll revisit these guys in a novel very soon.
  10. Thanks, fmd, for your comments and support. We'll see more of these characters next year. The story has been well-reviewed and I appreciate the reader's time to communicate that.
  11. Here's an alert that my story for the Fall Anthology. Please let me know how you like it; there are characters I plan on using in a novel.
  12. Thanks, Bill, for the nod! It will be a while before a new novel appears. However, watch for the 2011 Fall Anthology - due September 14 - and look for my entry, BAKED BEANS. The characters will be part of the new novel, along with some of my favorite LA characters from the SPLASH series. Jack
  13. You're probably asleep at this hour, but a big Happy Birthday, Kevin!

    Short Story

BAKED BEANS Los Angeles, land of endless promise. And endless failure. Of the instant hierarchy, the spray-on tan, the copped feel. L.A., where anything can happen at any time to some poor schmuck or lucky bastard. Where anything can happen to you. L.A. is a city of memorable faces. Even the unattractive character actors have that certain something, that exemplification of type. The others, too, lodge in the mind. The near misses. All lacking that extra it. L.A. will devour them. It will
  15. SHORT STORY. Brock Burnett, once one of the hottest movie stars and a Hollywood legend, has fallen on hard times. A chance meeting with an old friend and a bizarre turn of events may change his life.
  16. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE! Another belated greeting from a GA friend. All the best.
  17. I have very eclectic tastes - just watched To Kill a Mockingbird and I should be receiving Ryan Gosling's Notebook today. HOWEVER, for something that stretches the boundaries sexually, check out non-rated Shortbus released in 2006. I sat on my couch, mouth open, for 98 minutes...and smiled afterwards.
  18. Dr. Russ will probably have his hands full ;o) with Kris...but they're bright guys and are looking for something beyond a fling. Glad I've given you some insight about Chicago. There's a novelist - Michael Harvey - who uses Chicago as the location for his stories.
  19. How about considering the 800# gorilla in the room. West Hollywood is the gay mecca of L.A. (altho I admit that Long Beach is very active). Terrific restaurants, bistros, coffee shops and fun bars. There are accommodations at all price points. http://visitwesthollywood.com/ I would suggest my hometown - Palm Springs - but the summer months are a little toasty. http://www.visitpalmsprings.com/ However, the desert is exciting and summer months will yield deep discounts for lodging. Wherever, I'll be there.
  20. "Another day older and what do you get?" Hopefully not the crabs. Happy Birthday, James!
  21. The government today announced that it is changing its emblem from an EAGLE to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance....A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of dicks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed! If this is considered political by the moderators, I accept a hand-slap in advance.
  22. "Oh, Canada." A salute to our friends and a great country.
  23. Hey Connor, great to have you on board! I appreciate your continued support and kind words. Enjoy the story.
  24. Nice milestone - June, 2011 - there are 1,500 readers following the story. Thanks to all of you!
  25. Maybe you could do a "Second Annual Meet" in Vancouver in 2012? I think there would be lots of interest from GA troops in California, all the way up the U.S. coast, and from Western Canada. Think it over. Hint, hint.
