  1. I like sex scenes when they're not just there to be hot, they're also relevant for something regarding characterisation or the plot. This one was a big moment, it was when Percy finally accepted going along with his feelings for Five. That and Percy also wanted Five to see what he's like in bed before committing. They did also have a conversation after, which Five thankfully didn't let them avoid. But it was a done deal the moment Percy saw Five fuck himself. Six thousand dollars for a gift, damn! Being rich must be nice, take off one zero and it's still crazy. And a breakup gift is not even a thing, but I know the situation is unusual and Five is doing it because he feels bad for Bethany. Meanwhile, I was wondering where the story was going in regards to these brothers and I got the answer at the end. They exist in the story as a temptation that, by rejecting it, Percy and Five showed their commitment to each other. I keep guessing Ethan will show and he never does, but this time the gun sounds like too much for Ethan. This makes me think it's not Ethan, which probably means this time it is.
  2. I barely started reading the chapter and I'll post actual thoughts after I do, but first I want to laugh at what @Jason Rimbaud said in the forum a couple weeks ago because he actually fooled me, good job.
  3. I said essentially the same thing as what you're replying to and you make a good point, I think I was wrong. I was commenting on a chapter I read a while ago so, until you said that, I didn't remember that Miguel said “No es la primera vez para mí. Not even close.”, where the Spanish part of that translates to "It's not the first time for me."
  4. You're back! I hope you're okay and your absence wasn't because anything bad happened. This chapter was intense, probably the best one so far. During the attack, you made me really feel the tension and the fear the characters feelings. And then the scary moments when they learned a teenager died, but not if it was someone from their group, followed the dreadful news that it was, where their feelings were also captured very well. Their loss makes this war feel a lot more real for everyone in the parche. It must have already felt real since the attack at the school, with the death of the headmistress and some students, but this still feels like a lot more. Miguel not saying much while the cartel attacks were ongoing may have been him knowing stuff, through his father being involved with the cartel, that he can't tell Hunter, similarly to how Hunter has things about his father that he can't tell Miguel. But it's important to remember that Miguel is not his father, there's no guarantee he has the same views, and I think him wanting to leave Colombia suggests he probably disagrees on at least some stuff. And I have full trust that all the feelings he expresses about Hunter are real, including his desire to marry him some day.
  5. Damn, they got caught again, the boys really aren't lucky. Virgil's mom seems to have taken the surprise a lot better than they feared. But I'm worried about Sam's parents if he's so sure they'll take it badly that he ran away before even seeing their reaction.
  6. On the topic of things called @Myr, I'd like to submit this species from Magic: the Gathering.

    The Aftermath

That was stressful for Sam and Virgil, but crisis averted. Scott was shocked, but he took it well enough after calming down, even though he's still not a fan of gay people. Thankfully, all this was sorted out before the other guys woke up. It would have been hard to explain the situation if they had woken up while Scott was still gone.
  8. Like everyone else said, I'm glad Martin kept Terry's last name. Him knowing Martin was born out of his wife cheating on him and still treating him the same way he would do to his own son means a lot. The pretentious restaurant was hilarious. How dare they enjoy themselves too much, lol? Marty accidentally acting as a matchmaker is nice, but now we need a boyfriend for him. Martin took the news of having a title better than I expected, although I imagine he'll avoid using it as much as possible. His ex wife will probably not take missing out on it well, thought.

    How It Began

I'm a fan of this bit from your story description: "I was told this format/style doesn’t work, but I decided to let you all judge for yourselves." I'm not a writer but I think these kinds of 'rules' should be seen as only guidelines. I guess doing multiple first person points of view is probably harder because you need to make their narrations feel different, but that worked out well in this chapter. Jumping between the three perspectives and reading their inner monologues gave us a different look at the situation than if it was told in the third person. "I don't know if I'm more turned on or disgusted watching this. Nope, little Scott isn't waking up, disgust wins. It's like a car accident or a train wreck. It's so awful, but I can't stop watching." Scott's inner monologue makes me worry about how he'll react now that he's no longer hidden. But this part makes me wonder if he's really disgusted or trying to convince himself of that, while actually being interested. But the other guys may have heard him crash into the tent and, if so, there's the worry of how they may react when if they realise what was happening.
  10. It's good to see Martin hit it off with the whole family, both adults and children. That surely made the decision to accept the role in the company easier. It must have been amazing for Bertrand to see Martin calling him dad so soon. Same for Martin to find out his dad was secretly attended his graduation. I was starting to wonder if, without realising it, was developing feelings for Simon. If I'm right, him dating Rick complicates things. I guess that could be another way the title of the story will apply, in addition to the turmoil caused by the whole revolution in Martin's life. And probably more coming with his ex.
  11. I hope he's okay and I think he is, but I'd be more relaxed if I was sure. I wish he'd have popped in to say something quick, so that we're not concerned about him. The first day a chapter didn't get posted on schedule was February 21 and you say he visited GA the next day, he could have taken a minute or two to say if he's okay. He visited GA again yesterday, while we had already been here expressing concern and he still didn't say anything. My guess is he didn't expect us to worry or he'd have told us something. And he probably didn't even open this chapter or he would have seen us wonder.
  12. And he'll soon meet a bunch of family members he didn't know he has, and who presumably know about him, while already being overwhelmed before he gets there.
  13. I took a look through LittleBuddhaTW's recent comments in hope of finding any hint and I found a comment that strongly suggests he's away for a positive reason. This is the comment, from about a month ago, shortly before he stopped commenting on his stories, and here's the relevant part: I think it's safe to guess that the same reason he wasn't finding enough time to write has probably either made him even busier to the point of not having enough time to post Medellín or made him decide he'd rather wait to post when he has time to read the comments. Either way, this reassures me that almost certainly nothing bad happened to him.
  14. That's a lot of shocks for Martin at once, I can see why it was overwhelming. Learning that his father wasn't his biological father, having his biological father in front of him when he found out and then being faced with these news making him rich overnight. In the previous chapter, we were told his sister wanted to help him financially, in regards to their inheritance, and now he suddenly very much doesn't need any of that. Meanwhile, I'm happy that his bitch of an ex-wife, who managed to force unreasonable conditions on him on their divorce, won't smell any of this money. The intimacy between Martin and Simon happened because of the mental state Martin was in, but all that probably did was lower his defenses to let him do that before admitting to himself that he's not straight. He'll come to terms with being gay or, most likely, bi eventually.

  16. That's good to know, I will stick with it. It gives me hope for more good gay tv series, which I always like to see.
  17. I watched episode 1 of Heated Rivalry about a week ago. I can definitely see why the eye candy makes it popular and I did enjoy that aspect, but I need more of a plot than what this episode had to go along with it. Maybe that will change with more episodes, I know I shouldn't judge a show based on a single one. I will watch more, I'm just not rushing to do it.
  18. I should have said thank you for the encouragement from multiple people. So I'll say that now and, to avoid spamming, I extend these thanks to whoever else replies, if anyone.
  19. Things are moving slowly between Kitt and Matt, but today was a bigger step than it may seem. They're still not putting their feelings for each other into words, mainly because they haven't figured them out yet. But they no longer try to cover it up when they say or do something that hints at them being more than friends. Such as when Matt said "first place in my heart" and didn't change it when he realised what he said.
  20. Thank you to everyone who replied.
  21. Hi, I'm Davide and I'm from Portugal. I created my account in September, and I've been reading since before that, but I never ventured into the forums until now. My pfp is a capybara because I like that they're probably the most chill animal. Sadly, they don't like remotely close to here. Introducing myself and interacting with new people always feels awkward and it doesn't help that it seems like almost everyone posting on the forums is an author, while I'm only here to read. Somehow, commenting on stories and interacting with other comments there doesn't carry that same awkwardness at all for me, I have no idea why. I've rambled enough, that's all.
  22. I saw the title is the same as the chapter 1 title and I knew this was the time. The angry reaction is aimed at Ryan, of course. Let me first say I'm white, so I can't speak from experience of what this feels like, only interpret the ones expressed in the text. And I'm sorry for rambling. The way his friends talked about Jamal in those texts is racist and, while I believe Ryan doesn't think like that, but he acted like he did in his reply because it was easier. When they didn't stop talking like that, Ryan probably realised he made a mistake, but he tell the truth to the guy he loves and apologise. Jamal found out by himself and, on top of Ryan enabling his friends' racism, there's also a loss of trust because now Jamal can't be sure if he's hiding anything else. Plus Jamal felt good with Ryan because he felt seen and that died with how he acted with his friends. Then there's the whole part about how Ryan's build is not what most guys want. In other circumstances, I would have probably cared, but Jamal deals with some much worse that this feels irrelevant by comparison. I really like Jamal's speech about how people see him because he's brown and, because of that, how damaging the jokes that Ryan enabled are to him. For Ryan, his friends made one offensive joke, but he can just move on. For Jamal, what Ryan's friends think about him doesn't go away. This difference is why Ryan didn't see how damaging his participation was. We then get the entirety of chapter 1 except told in the first person instead of the third. I thought that was an interesting change, it feels more personal this time. It makes it feel more personal this time. We get more from Ryan at the end and I do believe that he loves Jamal, that he doesn't think like his friends, that he made one mistake that he didn't realise how big it was. But, if he wants a chance of getting Jamal back, he needs to prove he's not racist, stand up for his friends on the stuff he was quiet about, and try to regain his trust, which can be very difficult.
  23. Yes, there are more than what I said. I was covering only the events of this chapter. Or at least the ones I noticed. Exactly, but Five's thoughts on love are clear now, it's Percy. "He did love her, but he was in love with Percy."

    The Year of Almost

It feels like they're close to admitting to what they obviously feel. Matt practically did it when he called Kitt "hot", before trying to cover it up, but then he also called him "baby" later. One of Kitty's teammates noticed, called Matt "your boy" and Kitt actually stopped himself when he was about to deny it. No, autocorrect, for the hundredth time, I do not want to write "Kitty".
  25. This chapter dropped on Monday, at 0:52 am, according to the e-mail. Now you could make a point about "time zones", but I'm not listening. I'm going to sound like a broken record, but I blame Ethan for weird events. The mystery of the unusually big cum stain that should have been dry, but wasn't? Ethan came on top of Percy's cum to disguise it. The mystery of the reappearing cum stained underwear? Ethan stole it a while ago and sneaked it into the laundry room, hoping no one would notice it. The strange noises at the end? Ethan doing...I have no idea what, but still Ethan. Why is he doing all this? No clue. But there are things that can only be explained by a third person being around and it has to be him. Percy and Five finally talked, but only because the circumstances almost forced them to stop living in denial. Percy is still not admitting everything to himself, I think Five is right about the reason Percy is reluctant to come out. And that's probably why he went drinking early, to try to not think about how right Five was about an uncomfortable truth. Conversely, Five was able to not only be fully honest to himself about his feelings, but also to explain them to Bethany in what was a difficult conversation to have. I hope Five and Percy end up together, but I'll be sad for Bethany.
