    A guerilla attack so early on the baggage train would also on the narrow road with dense? forest on either side provide a road block of carts dead oxen horses and people. If the main body of soldiers were to turn back they would be slowed down to clear miles of road and have to enter the forest to fight against people who know the forest . Varus is in a predicament. Will he retreat or fight where he is or continue onwards to find a better battlefield. All the maps and discussion of strategy proving as pointless as all the information given him by Arminius.

    By midday the rear of the column would barely be out of sight of the fort. The attack so soon was well planned as the column became thinner and slower as the road narrowed, seemingly with the main thrust at the weakest point, the baggage train. Was the van of the army being attacked also ? or realise what was happening until too late? and how could they regroup or retaliate ? An attack like this on such a column of thousands of disciplined soldiers required long term planning, organisation and a great deal of information. And complacency on the part of the Roman command. All fostered over the years by Arminius.

    The mother/son meeting was less traumatic than expected. More understanding, more bonding, with Andrea accepting Cal and that with him Nos may have more control over blood lust. A welcome visit to Blake and Emon. And a tender first mating for Nos and Cal. Great storytelling.

    Of so many wonderful chapters in this story, I found this one of the most heartwarming. Yes Sir. I like the way you are handling the burgeoning Frank and Rhett relationship. Shyly. Please don't rush it. Jo has always been the character I love most. And your love - and respect - for him shines through in this beautifully told episode. His 'cup runneth over'.

    Two fantastic chapters of joyful sex. But I've got to say it. This episode certainly had more bite to it! Our intrepid trio has passsed through the VEIL, fought against VILE foes and defeated their EVIL designs and now can LIVE and love as is their destiny. With the emphasis now definitely on love!

    A convincing continuation of your story, with the clued up sheriff involved in preventing violence. Interestingly the sheriff seemed to be unfazed by the reappearance of Silas and Ares. Waiting for a promised "reward" from them? Wonder what form that will take!

    The boys had a great day together. Nos and Cal were making headway but the unexpected appearance of Nos' mother and her open dislike of Cal has certainly put a damper on developments. Interesting introduction to Orion's match. Jarlan seems to be the authority figure Orion needs.

    Despite the fact that there were condoms the rush that raw sex gave overruled the fear and guilt . That would come later and often too late. Both these men were old enough and informed enough to have made a different choice. But how many of us who lived through that period could honestly say we made right choices EVERYtime? A cautionary tale told with your usual skill. Thank you.

    Interesting how the relationship between Marcus and Ingomar will develop. Even on the frontier it would be necessary for Marcus to take the dominant role and for Ingomar to be the passive partner in any sexual relationship. Otherwise Marcus would face social disgrace and accusations of effeminacy which are already being spoken. Varus is encouraging the relationship for his own ends. Ingomar fortunately has chosen to protect Marcus and his loyalties will I am sure soon be tested. A captivating story .

    I did not expect after all that has happened that it would be Shayna at the door with muffins. But Bass saved the day. Prison is too good for Shayna but sadly she will find plenty there who won't be put off "noshing on her muffin".

    The friendship Vitalis extended to Marcus months past has now developed into a companionship that includes Ingomar. Vitalis sees and accepts the growing closeness of Marcus and Ingomar.     At last the deserved poetic justice for one shit. But it's good that River's confidence will be strengthened as he becomes more involved in the ranch. And the visitor at the door does not appear to have caused a fearful reaction in Mannly .

    Many questions are given answers by what Daisy has revealed. How she and Dale came to be on the island and their relationship. Now a means for the two young men and Daisy to leave the island appears to have been found. Jamie is in many ways being healed of the horrors of the island in his frolick with the orca and he has the support and love of Connor. A lovely chapter.

    Snails have a fascinating sex life. A courtship phase involving touching circling and sometimes shooting a love dart into each other. This can take up to 15 hours before consummation. Cal is encouraging Nos to take things slowly but Nos is working to an imposed time limit and must find in himself the strength of will to overcome his memories and fears. The poet Pilip Larkin " They fuck you up, your mum and dad. They may not mean to, but they do.They fill you with the faults they had And add some extra, just for you."

    It's good to know more of Jo's story. Despite the tragedy of his time in his mother's womb, Jo from birth has been gifted the love of those around him, from the caring nurses to his friends and co-workers on the ranch. A love not demanded but freely given. And freely returned. What a contrast with Shayna. A demanding piece of garbage who'll find at the end that no-one really cares a toss about her.

    Great chapter, introducing Cameron to big city. Cameron and Marcus enjoy sex with each other and it was touching the way Cameron comforted Marcus when he was crying over Sean. But will Cameron, who seems to have a big appetite for life be seduced by the city and what it has to offer him? Can he resist the temptations? Will he be able to return to country life? Does Marcus want to return to the city? Or will he find a settled life with Ryan is really what he needs? So many questions to be resolved. Great story developing.

    A campaign with baggage train and family into generally unknown territory is going to be slow and open to guerilla attacks, such as Marcus and Ingomar have already experienced. Varus believes in the surety of information he has received and in the invincibility of the Roman army ,and refuses advice from his battle experienced general. Marcus and Ingomar must make the most of their time together before the storm hits.

    Are Chihuahuas any good at giving full body massage? I'm sure Marcus would be a very Hot Dog. And Matt's defence of Simon with a folding chair seems to me brilliant. Who hasn't struggled with deck chairs and finally surrendered and just sat on the sand. As for Pip rebooting. Who hasn't in the early days of office computerisation really wanted to tell tecnical support for treating you like an idiot when they ask you is it plugged in exactly where to shove the plug. And the political party so lovingly mentioned from time to time? Im sure room could be found alongside the said plug.
