    Chapter 23

His eyes said it all. As soon as the hotel room door closed, Michlinked his hand with mine and fixed me with a gaze that made me want to melt. He leaned in to close the short distance separating us and I found myself waiting, wanting. I caught my breath, bracing myself for the surge of emotions I knew would come. When his lips met mine, my eyes closed on their own. Bliss. When would I get used to this feeling? Probably never. My eyes fluttered open when he broke the kiss, withdrawing his hand
  2. By Jian Sierra: This is not a legend. It is the life story of a single father who loved his son with all his heart. I repeat, this is not a legend.

    Chapter 1

Adam What makes a legend? Does it involve heroism with a hint of magic and mystery? Self sacrifice, perhaps? That one act for the good of many. Courage, putting others’ welfare before one’s self, steadfast devotion and charisma seem to be the ingredients that make a good legend. Something big and elaborate. ‘Legends are not made, they are born’, they say. Maybe they are right. Ignore what I said; of course they’re right. Hear my story. This is not a legend. It’s a simple story of a ma
  4. Very nice surprise! I knew you couldn't let it end happily, but it's sort of happy (in the sense that the MC is happy remembering). Good job

  13. Awww you're precious. The way I look at it, you didn't really lie about who you are, you're just not comfortable revealing that part of you freely to other people. Or the timing is a little off. So don't be too hard on yourself, you don't really need to tell everyone. Anyway, wishing you a lot more things for the upcoming years

Surely you're not hinting at a sort of sequel While I was writing this, I had a very specific idea in my head that this was Nick and Kate's story. But after reading this through before posting it, I realized a story can also develop involving Nick and Kate's brother. You're right, it is interesting. But I'll leave that to the reader's imagination. Thanks for reading

Thanks, Frosty. Don't start calling me names now I've pondered this prompt for days until a scene just played out in my head. I thought it was so romantic that I just had to write it. So I did
  19. Her laugh broke the silence. Not that Nick needed to hear the captivating sound of her laughter for him to take notice. He saw her from afar as soon as his feet hit the grass; she was a vision of vivacity and cheerfulness, a complete contrast against the gloomy backdrop of the cemetery. Nick watched her as he moved among the graves and sidled past the great old evergreen tree. She talked animatedly to no one in particular, her arms flailing all around her as she sat cross-legged in front of a
