Cavendish! I hope George gets a chance to thank him properly in a three camera shoot in the bath. I can hear the 1890's porm music now, chicka chika browncow. And Hornblower? Let's hope he lives up to his name. Loved it Mark. Really enjoyed the tours of both, the house and the ship. Perhaps Mr Maurices rain catcher technology will aid in the ballast problem with the iron tanks. I suspect the sea spray might not make it the tastiest but perhaps still drinkable.

There's that yikes word again. And I'm still holding out for Rick to just discover his true self. I guess you've figured out that I'm a hopeless romantic too. And I'm counting on you. So either another guy shows up that will make Drew happy or Rick's got to find himself. Even if its the former he'll be respected for being gay for his friend. And Brandon won't have to kill him for it. Now a REAL twist would be for another guy to show up and for him to fall for Drew and then to have Branden and Rick hook up. Of course there is always Angus who supposedly has a crush on Drew now. . . And now I'm pissed off because I have to catch a flight in a few hours and I won't get the next chapter until well after I land. *sigh*

Knew THAT one was coming. Wait for the other shoe to drop. Dad's not home yet. And that new story is just being written, "Sweating Bullets" by the joint authors "Willie Maket and Betty Wont" So glad I'm not waiting for the next chapter right now. Off to it!

Well since we haven't seen or heard from Phil then we'll have to assume the police are doing their jobs. But the aftermath is still to be seen. James on the other hand is already a problem. His gaydar probably works and he's going to spot Rick for the real fraud. At least until Rick figures it out. Until then, he's still straight. After all, he thought James was good looking . . . Hmmm, seems like there are a lot of closeted boys in aussieland. As I recall it in Ruby it's pretty common to have a hand or two copping a feel in the pileup! Besides, isn't Rugby really a sissy sport? Not at all like American football? And that other thing you call footie? If that isn't a sissy name then what is? Is the ball really pink? Oh, ya, one more thing. . . gotcha!

Well I think that in reality he could have taken on the biggest guy and the other's would have taken pause. At least that's how I learned it. Even if you get a beating you've gained respect and the rest wouldn't want a piece of someone who isn't afraid to take on the biggest guy first. And the fact that he was toasted would have given him an advantage too. He might have actually won. But . . . In any case, I think that Phil is going to have an attitude adjustment. The problem here is will Rick be outed by Drew to his parents when he gets to the hospital? Rick may be happier if that kick to the head broke his jaw. A head wrap and a jaw being wired shut may be his only hope.

Perhaps a fraud but a fraud with a set! And is it the writer in me or the detective that says that Branden's interest in Rick might be more than just platonic? Hmmm, interesting.

Wow, talk about dodging the bullet! And he said what!? He'll be there until someone shows up to fill the void? He may have well just proposed by proxy! I'm gonna have to think of a stronger word than Yikes! I mean something other than "Oh Fornicate!"

What a tangled web we weave, when we practice to deceive! That might mesh well with, "Me thinks thou dost protest too much!"

Yikes! You know one of the things I truly love about ALL your stories is that they are always big meaty chapters. Just the way the best authors write. And of course that could be because you're one of those really good authors. This looks like it is going to be delightful. Delightfully scary for some, delightfully humorous for others. But anyway it goes, delightful. But right now I only see 8 chapters. SO write faster, I should have those devoured in no time. ;-) Thanks!

Granger is going to kick butt and take names! Truly a wolf of the sea. And certainly an Alpha male! Let's see how much action Mark can get Granger into without upsetting history! Oh what the hell, "we're rewriting it all anyways! Right!" So we hire another revisionist or two. I mean at the rate their going now, the American indians never lost or had any treaties broken, The Jews were only inconvenienced and placed in protective custody and resettled elsewhere and slavery was only a misunderstanding. Don't get me started . . . Oh and did I forget? Politicians and presidents are all unscrupulously honest and have always been. Given the creative abilities of these fine revisionists, I think a phallus should be erected next to hood's monument. We'll call it the Granger stack. I think we could pull it off. (Oh, pardon the pun)

The next time you make the trek, how about a few pics with your phone? I'm not really interested in the perfect online touristy pics I could probably find online, but rather your view of the spots. HA! Lipstick on a pig. Gotta love the British! A fantastic first chapter Mark. Loved it completely. Only missing Mr Llewellyn and of course, Winkler. So the big question is if he will stay ashore or if he and Mr Jacobs will be along. Somehow I just can't picture Granger without his stalwart Winkler with him. And will he be back with Jervis? Or Lord St Vincent I guess it is now. So the adventure begins.

SWEEET! Another expert to add to the history lesson. Thanks so much Red_A I've not seen you here before so excuse me if I'm late in welcoming you. But you are certainly welcome. I love it when we get super-sleuths who are also super knowledgeable about all things Naval, particularly of this time period. Because of folks like you Westie and a lot of others and of course Marks superb weaving of history into this incredible series I've found another love. (Something about a guy in uniform, ya know? Or out. )

So we can speculate that the next book will be "The Valiant". SWEET. So that tells us That Granger won't be landlocked for long. And Mark, I would think the posting process has remained the same. Finishing A Class and New Kid would go a long ways towards that goal I'm sure.
