Chapter 1: All Roads Lead to Rome
ricky commented on David McLeod's story chapter in Chapter 1: All Roads Lead to Rome
A GREAT new adventure. And I'm glad to read more in the Translator series. He has many hard choices ahead of him. Somehow I think they will have action saving the caravan. And perhaps Zosa will get a horse or two. Well done David. -
Well we'll be nice to him anyways. lol

Man, so much going on. If Lyons pulls out then they're sunk, end of story. SO I think you'll find one for them. Perhaps a certain car dealer? And but are you building up to with the birthday thing? Why the secret from everybody? I mean they all gotta get there anyways right? And even if the birthday boy finds out, its still a surprise. I hated parties when I was growing up. And a surprise party for me was a bigger surprise for the givers. It only happened once and they learned. They ended up having it alone, I left and I was not nice about it at all. I was 11 or 12 then. Ya, I WAS a weird kid. I prefer unique though. An awesome story. I love it.

I agree with Jimmy. Things are bound to be dicey. The north Atlantic always makes you pay for fine sailing. I figured we would see Hornblower exit quickly. He was a cameo and it wouldn't do to have him hanging around too much. I'm sure we'll see him again later in the show but I saw it as a lock-stitch in the fabric of the story locking it into the established mental reality of the readers. Something Mark does in an incredible way, though usually with known historic figures and events. I think this is the first lock-stitch done with a solidly known fictitious character. Another masterwork ability shown by lord arbour. I still want our little Weshy back though he's probably not so little now. I was surprised that we didn't have anything from our midshipmen yet, one in particular. How ironic would it be for our newest midshipmen to fall in the drink to be rescued and warmed by George! I'm not so impressed by the ship. Seems like a rather flat and lifeless device compared to the living breathing ships of his past. Time will tell. It doesn't sound like George is too happy with it either. Seems the more experienced you get the bigger and less responsive the ship you're given. And I would like to see Freddie Cavendish reenter the story. His brief touches remind us of his love for Granger but I like him as a character as well. I guess I miss him a bit. A great story Mark. I still look forward to every chapter and get really pissed off when it shows up and I'm forced to wait to read it. I mean, my gawd! Doesn't life realize that there are priorities!

I would think that he is busy aping Beiber or Beiber is busy aping a spoiled idiot. I've spoken with his mother years ago, I in fact instructed her to get him a vocal coach and helped her to try and find one in the back woods where they lived. He was a really sweet kid back then. She must be so frustrated.

As long as he isn't put under a Wilcox or a Mann! (Are there any more of them left?)

A great Chapter. So Charlie is the other gay? It was that "other thing" that gave it away. Loving it all. Thanks.

An awesome chapter to an awesome story. I think fecal matter is about to impact the oscillating ventilator! The big question is will CJ put it together since he caught them together or will he think that he may have queered his best friend? Or will he think that he MADE him that way? This is an odd plan for him to come up with. Planning to out himself to CJ. And OMG when his DAD finds out. What if its at practice and his two best friends have to take out the coach? It will be interesting to see what he has planned. And it will be even more interesting to see how Clinton reacts. YIKES! is all I can think no matter WHAT happens.

I would speculate that they would send him out to St Vincent's realm. That would give the ship a good run and starting out in Summer they could let her fly. They'll also want to let the Frenchies know there is a new Dawg in the seas to worry about! I wonder if they'll sail her to London to get their orders, they have a mob to please too you know. They have to show off Granger's new command. I mean, he's got the band right? Let's have a party then. Besides, he must take his leave of his Sovereign and he's got a new Travers that must be introduced. And Lord Kingsdale has to take his leave and to see Granger's family. They seem to have adopted him somewhat.
-
Wow, Kingsdale and a new Travers! And being moored where they are, perhaps an appearance of Mr Llewellyn? Of course he'll HAVE to be punished for being so late. But perhaps after a couple of years he will not take his punishment over his captain's lap? (Ok, so I'm a dirty old man, so what, get over it.) I am delighted to see that Kingsdale has taken his education to heart and is doing so well. And of course equally delighted to see Mr Clifton! I haven't seen anything of Dr Jackson yet. Hmmm. Now free of any accusers, he should be free.Wouldn't it be great to see Cavendish show up with a seabag? Albeit unlikely, he IS a young man who could pull it off. So let's see how the new ship handles with a full sails and crewed. But not before he has a chance to view all his officers equipment after or before the dinner. I'm sure there was sufficient water left for a bath or two. Well done Mark, I'm already chomping at the bit. I wonder, will Caroline come aboard this time? It would give Mr Kingsdale an opportunity to thank her once again. I hope he remembered the bagpipes!

Or who's hand is in it!

See, that's what I miss about you when you're "Out of Pocket"! You're adventurous nature.
-
That'll teach you to take breaks! And which was it? Did you read or get busy? When it cums to Lord Arbours work one can often lead to the other!

Welcome Astro. There is certainly a lot of great writing and great writers here. There's also a few so-so writers who write just above a jerksheet. (Am I blushing?) But there is something for everyone. Actually I'm told mine are ok. I started writing for that very reason. Our gaylings didn't have much that gave them hope and helped them to burn off those pesky hormones. So I stepped up to the plate. I wanna be Cosmie when I grow up. And Mark Arbour in my old age. lol

A Welcome chapter. So what's with Mr Templeton? We've still no clues. And we're no closer to knowing what his mother was doing with the deed and such. Great sex but I would have liked to have gotten closer to answering some of the questions that have been left open. Especially since the chapters are so few and far between. Hopefully that will be a thing of the past though as you've indicated that drop box is helping you to deliver now. Well done. I realize you were author horny and it was welcome, but it's not the kind of meat I was hoping to find. Cheers, r

An excellent chapter. And where the hell did that come from? Ty I mean? It sounds like the old guy is going to have to change his perspective or the BMW guys will stop buying from him too. Or perhaps they will take up the slack? Time will tell. Of course, if it was "real" football, then the sponsors would be in line trying to get the top spot. But . . . well, it just what it is, right? Sissyball after all? But I'm sure it's tough for an Aussie sport. Now that I've got you wound up . . . Cheers, Mate

You know Cosmie, I've loved everything you've ever written. You write angst better than King Angst himself. But I have to say that I found this story to be the most powerful piece you've ever written. Flat out the very best. Now you have to understand that infidelity is a huge thing for me. I just can't tolerate it. I've never once been unfaithful nor have I ever been cheated on. It's just something that I see as a core defect in some. One that I can't live with and I broker no excuses for it. And I have no problem telling some who wear it like a badge of honor where the bear does his business. But I found myself hopefully wishing and pleading for Ben to allow Corey his chance. Now THAT is powerful writing. Thanks so much for it.

Well it was a great story, even if you've fallen into the British way of ending it in the middle of the story. Damn you have a fantastic story telling ability. But I WOULD like to see one thing. An Epilog. I want to see his parents reaction when he comes home with Claire. The absurdity of his actions coming to light. Of course I'd love to see Drew end up with James and Branden find some happiness. But at LEAST let us enjoy the parents being completely numbed out by their son. Thanks for a great story. But of course, I KNOW you don't know any other kind. And I'll hope that Branden's story comes to ink at some point in time. Even if it's not about REAL football.

I never knew that hormones could thicken the stew so much. And he's surely in it. He's in love with Drew and Claire both. And I think that the little issues of sex being the barrier might just evaporate after his first ride. In fact, he may just have to invest in a pair of spurs. Yeehaaa! Ride'em Cowboy!

Greg is still a loser. Clinton is just scared. He's trying to figure out how to not lose the friends he has while still pursuing the boy he loves. He just has to find his footing and decide what and more importantly who is important to him. And getting outed will probably do the deed. Greg's looking to relieve his hormonal needs so he can continue his life of denial. He even admitted that he hasn't yet even said it to himself. Clinton is in love. He's also in fear. CJ is a real threat, and becoming an outcast is a certainty if he's crossed. Scary stuff for a young teen. The question is where is Corey going right now? If Clinton is fishing with CJ and Corey wants to know what Clinton is thinking? I don't think he'll be able to ask with CJ around now will he?
-
Three Cheers for Sharon! The longer he waits, the harder it is going to be. When things cool down he'll realize that he does love him, just not as a boyfriend. I mean how many straight guys would pretend just to make their best friend happy? And I'm holding out for James. He was young and stupid. He made a mistake. But his love for Drew is unquestionable. Were he a lot older I know I would not feel the same. Infidelity is a real hot button for me. But he was also a really young kid with new raging hormones. Shit happens.
