  1. Just wondering if anyone knows what is up with all our favorite authors. They seem to have vanished. Dom hasn't posted a chapter in month and it has been almost 10 days since his last Blog. Matt and Apollo have been gone for almost a month. I hope everyone is doing well. Mag
  2. I hate it when I'm away from home and I wake up tired as hell only to discover I can't find a good cup of coffee anywhere. Mag The Very Tired Domaholic
  3. Hold your head up high. It's much worse to stay silent when as you put it there is so much to say. Mag
  4. I have to say other than my one sister offering to help plan my wedding shower and then telling me that "Next time you can do it yourself." when I didn't agree to something I had everything I wanted. Now my other sister had what we call the Green Beans and Corn Dispute. Her mother-in-law wanted to have green beans served as the vegatable. Well, my sister hates green beans so she ordered corn to be served. This argument went on for months before the wedding only to end with her mother-in-law calling the reception hall and having green beans added to the menu. Mag
  5. I hate that too!! And depending on my mood and who says it I sometimes can't stop myself from commenting on it. Ooh, you know what else annoys me? When people say 'I would of...' It's not of, it's have!! 'I would have done something, but a monster ate my brain' grrr. Oooh, and when people say that someone asked for something 'pacific' no, I think you'll find they wanted something 'specific' not something ocean related...*ahem* I'll stop. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How about these... "I didn't do nothing." "I don't got one." "They borrowed me the car." I don't claim to be an expert of English. As a matter of fact I am horrible at spelling, but I try to speak properly. Mag
  6. Not only is it confusing at first, but even once you know where these key points are, it is pretty useless to anyone who lives in the middle. Barring some major accident, they never explain WHERE the tie-ups are clustered. Is it stop and go the whole way? Does it clear up after the merge? Who knows? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know exactly what you mean. I love it when traffic does clear up there is no reasonable explination for the back up. No merge. No accident. But...for some reason I was sitting in traffic for 30 minutes. GoBears used to make fun of how I related my travel time in minutes and not miles. But, when it takes me an hour to get to the city and then 20 minutes to get home using the same route miles mean nothing. Mag
  7. I agree totally. Elope and have a nice reception later. I remember the time I told the hubby..."Fine, plan the damn thing yourself." Not that I would ever give up control of anything. I'm a bit of a control freak. Mag <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *Diana Ross and the Supremes suddenly appear in the forum* Stop! In the name of love Before you break my heart Think it over I don't want to bust anyone's chops on elopement but let's hang on here a moment. It seems to be a little early in the game to throw in the towel. In my mind, elopement should be more of a last resort sort of thing - like when one or both families are totally opposed to the marriage and will not attend the event under any circumstances. I'm pretty sure no one's pregnant here either. Eloping for convenience's sake or to avoid the stress of planning is just not the way to go. I suppose, in a sense, Dave and Chris do have a "planned elopement" in the works anyway. I don't imagine there'll be a skybus full of people coming over to Canada. A reception of some sort back in Scotland would likely be part of the plan. There's nothing wrong with asking for help, Dave. Often family or close friends would love to get involved. I could certainly help out at this end. Hang tough, Dave. :2hands: Hugs, Conner <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK I would have never Eloped. GoBears gad suggested we go to Vegas and get married, but I wasn't having it. I have a huge family and there was no way I wasn't having our traditional wedding. I loved every second of our wedding, but I would never do it again. Dave....Conner has a point about asking family and friends for help. My only advice is make sure they remember it's about what you and Chris want. Mag
  8. I agree totally. Elope and have a nice reception later. I remember the time I told the hubby..."Fine, plan the damn thing yourself." Not that I would ever give up control of anything. I'm a bit of a control freak. Mag
  9. Kindly keep your bedroom squabbles in the bedroom . :king: Snow Dog <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really hope he wasn't talking about me here.....I am more likely to repeat the movie word for word since I have seen it a thousand times. And........We don't have a TV in our bedroom. Mag
  10. Mag, there's now a third book in the Andrew Barriger series, entitled Finding Hope. I took it with me to read on my trip out of town last month. I agree, this is a lovely series, and I'm hoping there'll be more. I'll be back later with my reading list, when I have more time to post. Kitty <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amazon does not carry it, but I can get it from another ditributor. I do plan on reading it after Finding Peace. Mag
  11. egads, thats enough existentialism to make even the 'Rainbow' types want to slice their wrists and use Raid as a first aid spray. Did they supply a the number for a suicide prevention hotline on the handout? :king: Snow Dog <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I enjoy existentialism. Sartre is one of my favorites. I loved No Exit...Shadows it is very intersting I would love to hear what you think of it. Mag
  12. OK I guess I have to reply to this. I tried to compromise on this by agreeing that it is soda pop so therefore either is correct. However, my hubby is about as stubborn as they come. The only person more stubborn than him is me. As long as he isn't calling it sodie I can deal, but I don't get him a soda when he asks for it. I get him a pop. As for the Expressways vs. Freeways all I can say is......The taxes in California make me believe they really are not that free and the amount of traffic keeps them from being fast. Here in Chicago taking the Expressways is much faster than taking a local route in which you will be stopped at a traffic light every block. We have also had an argument about what a beach is. He says if it isn't next to an ocean it is not a beach. Even after I read him the definition from Webster
  13. I'm not even sure where to start....... OK I love fiction in general. However, I tend not read modern fiction to much. I love Truman Capote, Thomas Mann, Reinaldo Arenas, and Jack Kerouac. The list of Authors is so long I can't even begin. As for gay stories I recently read a book called Finding Faith by Andrew Barriger and I loved it. I am now waiting for Amazon to ship the follow up book called Finding Peace. Sara Bell has just had her first novel The Magic in Your Touch published and I can't wait to get it. I also obviously read gay stories online. Besides Dom I like all the authors who post in his group, Matt, Meg, and Appolo. Christopher Patrick Lydon, Michael Phillips, and some of Mickey S. (Particularly his story Billy and Danny) Now my boring side....I enjoy reading philosophy. Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvior are my favorites, but I also enjoy Plato, Descartes and Kant. Most people find this strange, but I love to question the world and that's what philosophy does. There are so many authors I enjoy I'm sure I have forgotten some, but I didn't want to make this post too long. Mag
  14. I agree.....It was worth the wait, but try not to make us wait so long this time. I know how hard it is to use someone elses strength when you are so used to always being strong. But, sometimes we all need a little support once in a while. Mag
  15. No worries Michael. And I was very red when they sang to me. I hate being the center of attention.....well unless it comes from my sweet cuddley bear. Mag
  16. Thanks again Michael. But, I think there was some confusion. I meant Vic and Mark the leaders of the Dark Side of the Rainbow. I just spelled his name wrong I guess. oops. Mag
  17. Yep, that's my man. Notice our avitar's? I have a pair of Skeechers too. I love them. They are super comfy. I got them real cheap on a clearance rack. Mag
  18. Thanks Conner and Michael for the Birthday wishes. AHHHH. I'm getting older. I had a very nice birthday. I'm on vacation, but I stopped at work for lunch and all the servers came out and sang happy birthday. I have some serrious butt kicking to do when I get back. It was wierd not spending it with the hubby, but we talked and I found out he has joined us here on the message board. Now we just need to keep him away from Vic and Marc so he doesn't slip over to the dark side. Can't wait to read the new chapter Conner and I'm sure Michael can come up with a few offers while you are sitting on his lap. Mag
  19. I really love them all. I didn't get into them much as a kid. but after watching Episode I, II, and, III I'm hooked. There is just someting great about understanding how Anikan becomes Darth Vader that pulls it all together. See Conner it is time to post a new chapter. We have gone way off topic. Mag He! He! Look at my new Avitar
  20. $85 dollars huh? that's 4 pairs of $20 shoes, lol You better get insurance on those shoes, just kidding <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know Baby I didn't think you would read this.
  21. I replied to Sumbloke's post, but I thought I would also post here. Can't ever send out to much love. I know all to well the fear and pain you all are feeling. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Hugs Mag
  22. I would like to send my thoughts and prayers out to all of you in London and those of you who have friends and family in the area. As of right now I see the numbers as 37 dead and 700 wounded. No matter the numbers one is to many. Hugs for you all. Mag
  23. No such thing as too many shoes. 3 pairs tennis shoes 3 pairs of boots 4 pairs of flip flops 2 pairs of work shoes 4 pairs of sandals 5 pairs of dress shoes. I would own more shoes if my husband didn't give me such a hard time about them. I have been banned from going to a shoe store alone. As for the most expensive shoes I have bought. $85 for a pair of Puma's. I always try to buy on sale. Mag
