I have to say that it can be very uncomfortable listening to your parents talk about their sex lives. My parents have been married for almost 40 years and they still flirt with each other. It is actually quite sweet, but on more than one occasion I have had to just turn and leave the room when one of them has said something a little too graphic. However, having to deal with some uncomfortable conversation is welcome after you have the unfortunate experience of hearing it when your bedroom is right next to theirs. AHHHHHHH! Mag

I hate it when.. ..my boss is running the kitchen and her negativity causes the cooks to get flustered and crash. ..the next day I run the kitchen and they rock, but my bosses negativity causes the servers to crash ..when I try to talk to my boss about the problem and her response is "I can't change my personality." :wacko: Mag

Nevermind may not be my favorite of Nirvana's albulms, but to say they "sold out" is crap. They were signed to a major label, the same label Sonic Youth was signed to before them. I don't think they really expected the "Grunge" scene take off as it did. It just goes to show how many people didn't get Kurt Cobain's music. Most of the album is making fun of those people. "don't know what it means when I say ya" Kurt Cobain may not have been a guitar god or the greatest singer, but he wrote great lyrics. A perfect sound with those lyrics would have taken away from them. It never made me feel worse it made me feel better. It made me feel like I was not alone. That someone else felt the way I did. Mag

I agree. I have been a Nirvana fan since they were on Sub Pop Records back in 89'. It about drove me crazy when Nevermind came out and all the jocks and cheerleaders that made fun of my friends and I started wearing Nirvana t-shirts. I like so many different types of music. However, I am addicted to Show Tunes. I tourture GoBears often with Wicked, Rent, Evita, Chicago, and Hair and many more. There is a bar in Chicago that has a Show Tune Night every Monday. It is so much fun. The whole bar sings along and interacts with the songs. If I had to choose only three albums right now they would be Wicked, Ani Difranco's "Living in Clip" and Depeche Mode's "Violator".....but ask me again in a month and any one of those could change. I had my ears pierced when I was 13. Then when I was seventeen me and my boyfriend at the time got matching piercings in our right ears. However that got infected and I had to take it out. That should have been a sign. I no longer wear earings at all since I can only wear 14K gold and that's to expensive when I lose the things all the time. I don't like a lot of piercings on the face, but I think pierced nipples are attractive on men only. Just my opinion. Mag

Not only is it confusing at first, but even once you know where these key points are, it is pretty useless to anyone who lives in the middle. Barring some major accident, they never explain WHERE the tie-ups are clustered. Is it stop and go the whole way? Does it clear up after the merge? Who knows? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know exactly what you mean. I love it when traffic does clear up there is no reasonable explination for the back up. No merge. No accident. But...for some reason I was sitting in traffic for 30 minutes. GoBears used to make fun of how I related my travel time in minutes and not miles. But, when it takes me an hour to get to the city and then 20 minutes to get home using the same route miles mean nothing. Mag

Mag, there's now a third book in the Andrew Barriger series, entitled Finding Hope. I took it with me to read on my trip out of town last month. I agree, this is a lovely series, and I'm hoping there'll be more. I'll be back later with my reading list, when I have more time to post. OK I guess I have to reply to this. I tried to compromise on this by agreeing that it is soda pop so therefore either is correct. However, my hubby is about as stubborn as they come. The only person more stubborn than him is me. As long as he isn't calling it sodie I can deal, but I don't get him a soda when he asks for it. I get him a pop. As for the Expressways vs. Freeways all I can say is......The taxes in California make me believe they really are not that free and the amount of traffic keeps them from being fast. Here in Chicago taking the Expressways is much faster than taking a local route in which you will be stopped at a traffic light every block. We have also had an argument about what a beach is. He says if it isn't next to an ocean it is not a beach. Even after I read him the definition from Webster

I'm not even sure where to start....... OK I love fiction in general. However, I tend not read modern fiction to much. I love Truman Capote, Thomas Mann, Reinaldo Arenas, and Jack Kerouac. The list of Authors is so long I can't even begin. As for gay stories I recently read a book called Finding Faith by Andrew Barriger and I loved it. I am now waiting for Amazon to ship the follow up book called Finding Peace. Sara Bell has just had her first novel The Magic in Your Touch published and I can't wait to get it. I also obviously read gay stories online. Besides Dom I like all the authors who post in his group, Matt, Meg, and Appolo. Christopher Patrick Lydon, Michael Phillips, and some of Mickey S. (Particularly his story Billy and Danny) Now my boring side....I enjoy reading philosophy. Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvior are my favorites, but I also enjoy Plato, Descartes and Kant. Most people find this strange, but I love to question the world and that's what philosophy does. There are so many authors I enjoy I'm sure I have forgotten some, but I didn't want to make this post too long. Mag
