  1. Well, the next chapter isn't three times as long hehe. But yes, Part 3 has a lot of uncertainty in it when it comes to Derek's views of life.
  2. Maybe that may just happen.
  3. Perhaps. Haha.

    Ch 16: Mothers

My no-nonsense and mostly weird Philosophy teacher once had a very interesting discussion on existence. Not existentialism, just his plain ole cousin existence. He said that every living thing had something intangible that made every being… be. From every person to the tiniest little animal, there was that intangible essence which defined that living creature as the creature we’ve come to know it to be. If you take a way that essence, you leave nothing but the husk, a shell that once containe
  5. From what I've read, people have taken up the opportunity to take back what they've lost due to the recession and cut backs. Seems like an extreme sense of entitlement for some. Of course different people probably have different motivations. It's just shocking it has spiraled out of control like that.
  6. Watched an episode by chance on AXN (I think). It was okay I suppose. Hehe. And wow, Crystal Reed is hot in that pic.
  7. I tend to devour stories which is sometimes I miss subtle details that hinted at what would eventually happen in the end. If I like the story enough, I'm likely to re-read it (soon after) and pick up details I might have missed the first time around. I tend to appreciate it more that way.

    EPILOGUE

Haha. Yes, I think you got the gist of the story with a few tweaks here or there. I am attempting to finish Charlie soon. It's just that I find myself lacking time. >.
  9. Hmm, not sure which part you mean by that scene. Though, I certainly guarantee to you that the scene in HP you mentioned didn't come to mind when I was writing this story. However, a lot of Aenhol was influenced by Dumbledore. Hehe.
  10. Haha. Thank you!
  11. Lol. Thanks!

    Charlie

Thank Iedi! That's just what I was hoping for. Hehe.

    Charlie

    Thanks!
  14. Things have certainly taken a turn for the worse for Derek. Even he doesn't know the answer to your questions at this point in the story. He will have to do a lot of soul searching to find out. Not to worry. There are people still who want to help him resolve his issues. Maybe, with time, things can change. You're welcome for the double post. Thanks for following the story.
  15. Thank you Charlie! He certainly does.
  16. We can always hope. Thanks for following the story!
  17. He is a bit... uhm... well, just wait and see. Hehe. Thank you for the complement.
  18. No time skips between Part 2 and 3. Part 3 picks up right after Part 2 ends.
  19. Well, I didn't think so haha. Every chapter has to end. It's not set in an older generation. I'd even say it was set in a more modern, liberal setting. It just so happened that the narrator isn't quite like everyone else.
  20. Thank you as always.
  21. That's why I wanted to release it after a day. Didn't want such a nasty cliffhanger. Hehe. I know everyone's been waiting for this part. BUT, I don't think it's what everyone has been expecting. I hope I don't get burned at the stake for this. LOL
  22. CHAPTER 15: Taking Sides “Derek!” Mikee exclaimed like I had shouted out some profanity about her mother involving a pretzel and two slices of cucumber. That if anything confirmed my worst fears. “Come with me,” Luke’s voice slithered into my consciousness. He left his untouched food on the desk while he crawled away from the table like some wretched beast. Yet, my mind was focused on finding out one thing. The truth. Loud talk resounded in the cafeteria before the door behind me clo
  23. Gah, I think I missed it... lol
  24. CHAPTER 14: The Choices We Make Our Basic Law and Governance teacher Mrs. Corpus was getting flustered at the agitated questions being thrown at her. Being the brilliant Harvard law school graduate that she was, you’d think she’d be used to being under pressure and being bombarded with questions. As a lawyer, you’d think she would be used to defending something she didn’t really believe in. Apparently, that did not apply to silly things like school dances or perhaps it was the fact that it
  25. You sell yourself short Tara. Hehe. I'm sure Rebecca is no match for you (except her glare, it's quite unbeatable). He is on his guard all the time. A person in his position cannot let down his defenses. At least... that's what he's been taught. Yes, I'm sorry I really couldn't expose too much about Charlie despite my efforts. The fact remains that Derek is still clueless about quite a few things regarding Charlie and I just couldn't describe him without making it more obvious that Derek should have known.
