  1. Haha thanks as usual Anya. Oh you should go charge Andy. I believe he has joined the Derek-and-Charlie-will-not-end-up-together-camp. Oh and if you're reading this Andy, forget I wrote anything.
  2. Yes, he was having a flashback. I can't tell you yet what it was about though. Luke clearly knows something about Charlie. He's pretty much known it since Middle Schools but has never had the proof for it. That time is coming to a close though. Travis is more down to earth than any of the other characters. He's the most in touch with reality and even he recognizes the dangers that Charlie might be in. For you, I will make sure that Derek figures it out this week.
  3. Yep, this chapter lays down the foundation of what will happen in Part 3 of this story. Travis, Luke, and Derek clearly have issues and it's how these issues interact that will inevitably lead to tragedy...
  4. Derek really has a hard time seeing "certain things" unless someone really points them out. He is brilliant but the mind is a wonderful thing. Sometimes, it does things without us even realizing it...
  5. Just out of spite, I will answer you questions!!! Haha. Kidding aside, I will since they're not spoilers anyway (at least I don't think so - forgive me if they are). Facts: She didn't actually want to go on the date and was just forced by her mother. She brought Travis so that he could be with Charlie without Derek suspecting it being anything other than to piss him off. Her opinion of Derek is mixed at this point of the story.
  6. Thank you. Yes, I realized this didn't add much... or maybe it did but it won't be obvious what until the end of the story... Haha. Sorry, now I'm being a schmuck. One of the reasons I wanted to show this was to show a different side of Derek. Too much Derek-hate going around by this chapter so I wanted to show that there are some things we might not know about Derek - that there are some things that he himself is not ready to tell us. Also, I wanted to introduce the kid. He's a character in another story I wanted to write. This same story was actually hinted in A:TSW though it seems no one has noticed it yet.
  7. It's there at the back of his head.
  8. Yes, maybe I was too obvious with that haha. But I guess I learned from A:TSW where I was at times too ambiguous. (But at the risk of sounding ambiguous, he doesn't see Charlie as being gay for more reasons than have been presented hehe). Oh, be careful by the way. I believe Anya is mounting a raid against that camp.
  9. Thank you. Yep, pushed four years into the future. The past will definitely come knocking back at Derek's doors. It's just a matter of how ready he is to face it.
  10. I didn't actually intend it to be as sad as it came out the first time I wrote it. But then afterwards, I realized I couldn't give it the same impact without having that element in it. I prefer not to write things that make people sad but I guess it's sometimes necessary. I just hoped that the sadness did not linger for too long. As for the cliffy, I did the same thing with A:TSW if you remember haha though the implications wouldn't have any impact until the sequel. Don't worry, there are no more similar sentences in the rest of the story.
  11. You can just see and feel the hurt in his voice with this. Poor guy. The end feels like he's finally gonna tell Derrick, just has that feel - like Charlie's ready for it to be over. But my prognostication skills are rarely right so he won't. LOL Haha. I'm sure as you know by now, he won't be telling in the next chapter.
  12. Yes, he certainly does not see what others see. A lot of the story has changed since I started conceptualizing it. One very critical plot point was even revised despite my initial desire to keep it there (I didn't want an A:TSW repeat ehem...). Andrew is a wonderful name - I just hope not all Andrews would bend people to pretzels.
  13. Absolutely agree (not the corny part of course). A lot of the story is told from Derek's point of view, not the omnipotent narrator kind (no matter how much Derek will insist he knows everything). Life would actually really suck for Hero without Big C which you will read soon enough I think...
  14. Maybe it's a little bit of both.
  15. Inbox spam!!! I'm just kidding hehe. Oh, I do have an obnoxious, egotistical friend who acts and talks somewhat like Derek (though their lives are nothing alike). So yes, there really are some people who are just full of themselves. He does tend to get on my nerves but he's been there since Grade School so meh... Haha. Fact? Fiction? Who knows. Oh, I'll get to your other reviews soon. I have to leave in a bit and I wouldn't want my replies rushed.
  16. I'll have to take a look at that. Any particular Dell model you'd recommend? Yeah, ASUS Eee Pad seems to get some favorable reviews especially regarding the affordability part. My only concern is I've never used an Android OS before. I don't know it's limitations and all. I'm thinking of something that could double for work so I can bring this in place of my bulky laptop even if the latter has better specs. Is that Galaxy 10.1 the next generation Galaxy Tab or the first release? Cause I've handled the first gen one and I didn't like it. I definitely won't get something without a keyboard dock. I didn't know that. Though my main concern with Apple is that it is well... an Apple. Being an Apple means it's already more expensive than what it offers hehe. I have friends that have it and I certainly enjoy playing games on it. I just have never seen anyone use it for writing or business (more writing) which makes me wonder if it will be any good at it.
  17. SHORT VERSION: What do you think of the ASUS Eee Pad (with keyboard dock) for writing? LONG VERSION: So, I've come to realize that my desktop home computer is no longer a conducive place to write. Perhaps it's the oppressive heat or the constant amount of clutter that gathers around my room but I've discovered that I'm most encouraged to write when I'm outside the house. So I'm looking to buy a very portable laptop (to replace my currently bulky and almost zero battery life one) to help me write outside the house. I was thinking of getting a netbook (since it fits the "very portable" category) but then am also considering a tablet. There is a frenzy over iPads and iPad-imitations that has admittedly made me desire to have one for myself. However, to buy an iPad just for games (as most people do) is just not worth it for me. I don't need one - but I do want one. So I was thinking of looking into an area somewhere in between (to satisfy both cravings) which is why I'm also considering a tablet. In particular the ASUS Eee Pad (if that wasn't a ripoff name, I don't know what is). It seems to have enough features of a netbook with the benefits of an iPad (touch screen, light, can be used as screen only). Not to mention, it seems to be sold at a reasonable price. What do you guys think of this item? Does anyone have any experience with this or perhaps some friends who have said how much they loved or hated it?
  18. Blasphemy!
  19. CHAPTER 13: Distorted Reality Never trust a restaurant that has the word “neo” anywhere in its name. NFJ, short for Neo Fusion Japanese apparently implied eating bland food on uncomfortable mats with pillows while listening to raucous similar-sounding Japanese pop music. Not to mention it was criminally priced. The attendant at the door was wearing a skimpy kimono. I mean who would have thought that was even possible? It looked like she got into a fight with a weed whacker and had lost severe

    EPILOGUE

Yes, I realized that erm... shortcoming... with the ending that I'll make sure not to repeat in Book 2! Haha. I hope to write it soon (possibly after I finish my other story Charlie).
  21. Thanks Zrazvi! Yeah, it has four parts and Part 2 will end soon (well, as soon as I get around to finishing it! Hehe).
  22. Thank you, Kevin! I'd blush if I could. Hehe. I'm glad you liked it.
  23. Haha, yes, I believe it's reaching the point that he NEEDS to find out already. However, it won't happen next week. Like I told the others though, it will happen VERY soon. Be careful what you ask for.
  24. Hehe, like I told Anya on her review, he won't find out next week still, but VERY soon. Yes, that was Andrew whom you shall meet again later. Hold on.
  25. You'll find out eventually what made him sad and why those words were "vaguely familiar" hehe. I'm afraid you will have to hold on a little longer. He won't find out next week either. He will yet have another conversation that will cover some things that I should have in Chapter 11. But soon, VERY soon he will know.
