    Chapter 75

Thanks Mark for another wonderful installment of Granger and company. I love this story. Today we get some insight into the politics and scheming that goes on behind the scenes, so to speak.

    Chapter 74

I must agree with the others. Another well told and fantastic chapter. I hope that George and Freddy get together soon. I have always thought Freddy was one of George's best partners.
  3. Damn Mark this chapter had no battles, except perhaps a mental one, but you made it seem like George won a battle or two. Another example of how you make all of us feel like we are just a little involved with merry ole England.

    Chapter 72

How wonderful to run into Calvert and company. He gets to catch up before heading home. I am so happy to get my Granger fix today and to find him on his way home is wonderful. Thanks Mark.
  5. What about all those officers they released after the battle of the Nile, couldn't some of them count toward Granger's release? You know me, I want to see Granger back trying to get a ship ready for sea duty as soon as possible, just think of all those midshipmen out there needing his excellent guidance.

    Chapter 71

How wonderful to get a George update. I am pleased that Caroline and Granger's boys have reached an understanding and they have seemingly gotten back on good terms. I hope we see George have a homecoming soon. Thanks Mark for my Granger fix, I hate the shakes and other rigors of withdrawal.

    Chapter 70

Glad to see Granger back in action. but I fear Calvert is in for another long hard voyage.

    Chapter 69

It is ironic that Granger will most likely be that Granger is happy for Calvert and Gatling where Caroline is pissed and ready to send them to the ends of the earth.
  9. This latest chapter was so very sad, but it was written beautifully. I am sure it had to be sad, and as he usually does Mark made us fee the sadness of the Robbie memorial. I was also a little saddened about the fall slowdown Mark mentioned, but at least we know not to be so expectant every day now.
  10. Mark has never cut us off completely when he is busy with "real life" issues. He just seems to be more prudent with his time. Of course this is not for me to say, I guess I just like overstepping and seem to enjoy putting my feet in my mouth. A wonderful chapter and I am a little concerned that we might be getting TOO close to tying up all the loose ends. I fully assume that we will see another saga after this installment, but it might take a while to get started. I am always a selfish SOB.

    Chapter 68

Another exceptional chapter. I think we all got a good deal closer to seeing the story coming together. I am glad Spencer was agreeable to letting the Americans avoid the press. It will be interesting to see how Calvert ends up crewing his ship after so many are release from service.
  12. I agree the badges look great.
  13. I am never happy to hear this, but I do understand. You have given us a wonderful summer of fantastic chapters and we all appreciate it. You spoil us and we appreciate it, but to be honest, we would all want more even if you spent every waking moment at the computer. The good news is that we can expect a more refreshed and energetic Mark on the other side of this slowdown. As I said we are always ready for more of your chapters and stories. We all hope that you get some rest and relaxation, as well as, your semester duties.
  14. Another wonderful chapter with Winkler as the star. The young man has managed to learn and adapt much like his captain. I am not a Spencer fan and I have for a time thought he might be more in bed with Maidstone than appears. I might be wrong, but he has not been one of my favorite people for awhile. I hope this latest action from the Mann/Wilcox bunch is enough to purge them from the Navy once and or all.

    Chapter 67

Yet again Winkler is a hero in my book. I have, for some time, thought Spencer was not quite the man that he appeared to be. I was happy to see Lady Granger slap him up side the head with her sharp tongue.

    Chapter 66

Great job Mark, I felt I needed a shower after reading the reintroduction to Talleyrand. The most Granger can hope for is that the slime from Talleyrand doesn't ruin his new uniforms.
  17. Good points, but I thought Hornblower's father was a doctor. Still not a noble though.
  18. I know I am just a worry wart, but I can't help but recall that Paris was not a good place to be sent in one of the Hornblower books. He was to be tried and executed just for being a thorn in the side of the French. Let's hope that it doesn't come to that for our hero, but as I said is is hard to trust the French back then. Hmmm not sure today!!!!!
  19. Sorry I was late in offering my CONGRATULATIONS. Congrats and very well deserved.
  20. Well now we know that the chart room will have plenty of rats if Granger ever gets another ship. I for one hope that he does, I don't think he will be happy on dry land and not risking his life on a frequent basis.
  21. I can understand why this was hard for you to write Mark. It was hard for me to read. Not because it wasn't written well, but because it was written so well that I felt the emotions almost like I was one of the people involved. I was just beginning to be a Robbie fan and now it appears I will not get to enjoy getting to know the new Robbie. Well done Mark and thank goodness more of our little band survived than those that didn't. One thing that I enjoyed and think totally fitting is that the Senator's dick finally killed him.
  22. I was working as a consultant and when our client told us a plane had hit the World Trade Center, my first thoughts were some idiot in a small plane screwed up big time. By the time I got to a phone and was told it was a terrorist attack, I almost couldn't believe it. Our offices didn't have a TV and it took a few minutes to locate one. I can still remember the anger and frustration I felt that someone could do something like that to the innocent people just doing their daily duties. I have to admit I was one of those people that wanted to do something to someone immediately. It didn't matter if we knew exactly to retaliate against, just do something. I am ashamed now that I was that angry and thought we should find someone to attack immediately.
  23. Thanks for the new chapter. I am glad to see that our wise and honorable Lord Granger was able to get on the good side of a bad situation. Some of his treatment might be from his noble status, but I am sure that his attitude and treating the victors with the respect he would expect if the roles were reversed had something to do with his treatment as well. Attitude and respect are rarely given unless they are mutual. That is just my opinion and like the old saying goes like assholes everyone has one.
  24. Hey Mark, I don't want to whine, but will we be getting another awesome chapter anytime soon?
  25. Of course we realize this, but it has nothing to do with Will's use to fuck with his father and Steph's minds. It is the principle that he is trying to make. It is my house, keep your ass out of my business.
