  1. I have to agree. Cavendish has always seemed to me to be the fun cute kid that everyone loved. I miss not having more involved in the story currently, but understand that it can't always be about the cute and lovable. Speaking of cute and lovable (don't blow a gasket Ricky) it will be interesting to find out how quickly Calvert can re-provision his ship and chase back to England. I firmly believe he will do his best to help Granger catch up to Maidstone.
  2. I want to apologize for my negativity lately. I am turning into a grumpy old man. CJ, you and your team do a wonderful job on this story. I think all of us that read it realize how much effort it takes to do such a quality job. My sister-in-law made me promise to go to the doctor next week if my sprained ankle isn't much better by Monday. Maybe that will save me from becoming more of a GRUMPY OLD MAN. Thanks again to the whole team for your hard work and thanks for the update.
  3. The last that I saw was it went to editing almost 2 weeks ago not days. I hate being such a prick, but a little information would go a long way in eliminating a lot of the frustration. Some say no news is good news, but most of us just think that is silly.
  4. With the lack of information coming out from people in the know, it is hard to stay positive. It is especially hard when they seem so secretive about what is going on. Something seems wrong to all of us and those in the know show no desire to enlighten us about what is actually going on.
  5. I didn't think about this putting Lord Granger in the picture for the battle of the Nile. This is a wonderful twist that not only gives Lord Granger another chance at glory, but also in a position to grab a ship to give him the possibility of overtaking and confronting Maidstone face to face. I just hope that George has another chance to make Fox look like an idiot to the nobility of the realm.
  6. I agree and I think Emoe does a wonderful job, I am just saying that it has been well over a week and we still have not heard anything, it sounds like something is wrong and needs the TEAM to fix.
  7. Last we heard Emoe (the editor) had it. Either is was so screwed up they had to have another collective orgy, or Emoe reads very slowly.
  8. I don't disagree with anything you just said, except I don't want him dead. I think he needs to captain his ship and only see Granger once in a blue moon. I think the men that George connects with mentally and sexually like Cavendish are always going to be more connected than just the hot sex he needs from those like Calvert. After all George is still young and still has the sex drive of the young stud he is.
  9. Ricky, you are such a Calvert fan!!!!!!!!
  10. It has been in editing for a couple of weeks, so any logical guess seems impossible.
  11. I think the only chance that Lord Granger has to catch up to Maidstone is if the Vulture shows up and he takes to the wind to catch up. The logical interim Governor is Chartly, but for some reason, I doubt he will be named Governor. We could spend weeks trying to speculate where Mark will take us when comes out of his 'Summer Slump'. By Bertie getting Maidstone out of his hair so quickly not only did he screw up his brother, but also his own plans/schemes. Let us hope we don't get too wild with our guesses as to how our hero will get out of this sticky situation.
  12. I am surprised that Lord Granger's friends have not asked Bertie to at least wait a few days or a week or two. Granger being separated from his ship and his ship sailing away is in effect removing Granger from his command. The least these 'FRIENDS' could do is inform Bertie that they expect another ship to come sailing into port soon. As much as Bertie wants Maidstone out of his hair, waiting a little while longer shouldn't be too much to ask with Granger's command in the balance. Of course Maidstone could go into hiding and that might also give our hero a few more days to recover well enough to stop his brother from screwing up his career.
  13. Getting caught checking out a cliff looking for a nice place to put a hanger?
  14. Well, Lord Granger figured a way that he didn't have to deal with Maidstone until the situation was understood better. Of course, he would never have chosen such a method. Let us hope that Maidstone doesn't kill Dr. Jackson before he can heal our hero. I am sure everyone on the island is holding their breaths knowing that something might happen any day. Since everyone seems to know most everything about Granger's mission we can only hope the last minute orders about Granger being able to decide who will be the Governor.
  15. You do know most browsers let you adjust that size of the characters in the pages you view? I have bad eyes so most of my web pages are set at 125% or higher. I use google chrome and you can change the text size by clicking on the three - dashes at the top of the page. Sorry just looked and it is called zoom not text size.
  16. Fantastic how you fed us enough information to makes us think we understand Maidstone and his supporters better. I still don't think that is the full story. I am sure that Granger won't face maidstone alone. He is not to be trusted and although George is a Peer, he is not a Peer if he can't be found. I shouldn't be thinking that dasterdadly, but it seems he has earned his reputation. I think his grandfather's advice will serve him well. The thing that unsettles me most is how EVERYONE seems to know his mission and his course. Maidstone might not dare to harm him directly, but no telling what or who he might pay to try and kill Granger before he ever sees Maidstone himself. I think it would be wise to send Sommers and a few others in early trying to make sure the guards know that Granger is the King's representative so that they understand for sure whom they should support.

    Chapter 38

Another wonderful chapter. I am glad Granger found a way around just selling his services. This plan should work perfectly. It will be interesting to see what has happened when Granger gets to Amboyna.
  18. I'm really glad that we will be getting some Granger love soon. I apologize for my whining. It won't happen again. You are a great author Mark and like Ricky said it is a story that we know is difficult and time consuming to write. Having said that, I know I am guilty of whining and as I said, it won't happen again. In my defense, I see the Odyssey forum without any entries and my simple mind thinks that maybe just having something in the forum will help speed a story along. Again as I said I am sorry.
  19. I came looking, but again not finding anything new for us Granger freaks. Those CAP weenies seem to get all the love. Granger is not even a red-headed step child, he's blond. I'm being over dramatic, but I just wanted to offer a gentle reminder that some of us love our fearless captain.
  20. New title possibly Hell Avoided Hopeful thinking I think
  21. Of course with the goat, his days might just be another December 2012 or ev-fen his counting challenged brain might cause a mis-fire. Is this another CJ non-cliffhanger cliffhanger?
  22. I know you are excited about the start of a new story. I love your writing and I like the CAP series, but I don't care much for some of the people that dominate the forums of the CAP series. Having said that, I like the series even if I don't comment much. The Granger stories are harder to write and require a lot more effort, I understand that, but I have to ask something and I hope it doesn't get me on the shit list. Can we expect to ever see Granger back on a schedule we look forward to?
  23. Goat!!!!! I have only one thing to say. If Bullshit was music you would be a BRASS Band. If it was snow you would be a blizzard.
  24. So that is what you are calling his sexual exploits these days.
  25. The reason I don't think it wise for Lord Granger to take this offer is that it can easily be seen as giving aid to the enemy. Also since the money is a payment for a service wouldn't got to the government instead of the ship and crew? Since it is not captured, I don't see the money ever going to the ship/ships. I agree that Granger needs to find out how the Don's know so much about his mission. Everywhere he goes, Granger is running into the enemy that seems to know virtually everything about his mission. Let the conspiracy theory begin.
