  1. What the hell has the racial makeup of LA have to do with this story. I think I am speaking for more than just myself when I suggest you take this crap to some other thread. I only come to this thread for comments about the story and I am really tired of seeing all this racial crap. Sorry, but I have just had enough of this off topic stuff. We seem to do it a lot, but this has gotten out of hand.
  2. I think they may need to keep the two ships together once they get to their destination as well as while they are worried about the French ship of the line. Maidstone has proven he has no scruples and John's Company is up to something that may require both ships. I don't know how may ships they have accumulated, but I fear they have more than the Admiralty knows about. Another positive is that this way, Lord Granger can make a grand entrance and s little show of force if needed, and I think it is going to be needed. I know John's Company wouldn't do anything directly to a peer, but since when is a direct approach required for someone as underhanded as I believe Maidstone to be.
  3. I very much enjoyed this chapter, but I am also ready to wring your neck Mr. Mark. How could you end this chapter without finding out why Humphries and Fitzwilliam were in the Chilean prison?
  4. As for the issue of cliffhangers, the goat will never agree that there are any and will argue long and hard if any of us readers uses the word. I propose that we start using another term for the tense endings to which we have grown accustomed. That way everyone avoids the contentious word, the goat will be mollified, and we can use the new term freely. Any suggestions? I will throw out "goat gimmicks" as a possibility. I like that. We can us GG for a short cut. Wow don't know how I screwed up this quote so bad
  5. You know the goat. The epilogue will probably have a cliffy in it. too much a crecher of habit.
  6. I don't think anyone is above the law, but if we are passing out whackings, shouldn't Michel get one too? He must have been complicit since he was there to take the pictures.
  7. So is it the Doritos in the keyboard or the goat's creative numbering system and calendar causing this latest delay?
  8. Are you sure? My devious mind has rolled around some really bazaar possible outcomes. Hell, some of them were even legal.
  9. This is music to my ears. Your storytelling ability is outstanding, buy your battle and action narratives are off the charts. Thank you so much for this series.

    Chapter 28

The bold and elaborat plans and then the execution are what makes this series so great. Of course it is also drives me wild waiting for the next chapter.
  11. I have been out of touch for awhile. It was wonderful to find two new chapters of my favorite story. Thanks Mark! As usual, Mr. Arbor, you have me dying to find out who, what, and why of this mystery ship shadowing our illusterious hero.
  12. Thanks Ricky. Yes, I would have used the snow for a backup fridge, except I only spent 1 night at home and couldn't believe it would be out that long. I stayed at a empty rent house that had electric and water connected, but of course, no internet. I feel like a big idiot, but my fridge needed cleaning anyway.
  13. Thanks for the update. I will attempt to be better at curbing my desire for a new George chapter. I have never been the patient type, but I will attempt to be better.
  14. Thanks for the update. I enjoy your writing and I read Paternity, I am just not crazy about it like I am about Odyssey I don't try or enjoy trying to be a dime store psychologist so it isn't my thing. I will try to curb my anxiety while you get back to the story. I fully understand and hope the salt air flying cannon balls get you excited again soon.
  15. I just got power back on after being five days without any. This was the biggest snow storm I have every had to deal with in my 65 years. Now that power is back, the first thing I looked for was a new Odyssey chapter, but I see there is none. Since I have been away for the site for 5 days, can some tell me if Odyssey is on hold or what? I will look for myself when I can, but 5 days without power have left me with greater messes, like a fridge and freezer full of spoiled food. I am procrastinating that by writing this note, but you have to admit you wouldn't want to do it either. Now I have no more excuses.
  16. God you people make things complicated. It is simple. No one turns will down because Mark writes this story the way he wants it. Some of you guys are acting like you have Will on your couch so that you can pick him apart. Face facts, Will is what and gets whatever Marks wants him to.
  17. Me too Happy holidays everyone.
  18. Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!!
  19. Mark, it has been two weeks since you abandoned us on the edge of this cliff. Can you give us an estimate when we might expect search and rescue. Some of us are getting close to a panic attack. I know flunking everyone who takes your class(s) isn't a realistic option, but it has crossed some of our weaker minds.
  20. It matters not what Robbie runs. I am saying that Robbie seems to want to take the opposite view or side of what Will takes and he is totally outclassed and easily manipulated. I honestly think Will likes to push Robbie's buttons. I am not sure if it is to impress his father or just to toy with a mental midget that he likes to see pissed and pouting.
  21. I can agree with some of what each of you are saying, but the one thing that you all seem to be missing is that Robbie has always been a follower and has yet to have an independent thought. He is vindictive and surprises the hell out of me that he can run anything let alone a successful movie studio. When Robbie takes on Will it is like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
  22. It appears I did a piss poor job of teasing that we Odyssey fans needed a polarizing figure that half of could hate and the other half love. I was only teasing, but we do need something that would generate more bickering (like the Paternity thread enjoys). Sorry if I confused anyone. Lord Granger has always dealt swiftly to put any sprig of nobility that have acted like a spoiled brat into a proper frame of mind. I never meant that our favorite story would ever have a real midshipman that got away with being a spoiled brat.
  23. Okay. I know what we need in this story. We need a controversial fourteen year old midshipman that half of us thinks is smart and ready to be promoted to Lt. and the other half thinks is a spoiled brat that needs to visit the gunner's daughter. Then we would be constantly arguing with each other. Maybe then we would have a lot of discussion in the thread. I hate we don't have enough bickering to keep up with that OTHER story. Just kidding sort of.
  24. Its kinda selfish for me to ask you to do better than your best, so I will just say thanks for letting us know. I will still be looking for the next chapter, but i won't be calling you names under my breath. I do love this story.
  25. Sorry guys, I really didn't have anything much to say, I just couldn't stand to see my favorite story thread so far down the list. I know it is a silly thing to do, but I never claimed to be anything less than silly.
