  1. I can't imagine Brad being able to talk/shout/criticize to/at Will. It is the age old problem of parents and teens. The parents forget they did the same or even worse when they were that age, but that doesn't keep them from acting all up and above those same flaws with their children. The old saying "Do as I say, not as I do!" doesn't hold much to help discussion with their kids. Kids are not stupid and they can easily see hypocritical behavior in their parents. I know some parents want to use the excuse that they want to help their children not make the same mistakes they did, but acting like you know what is right and it is my way or the highway doesn't go over well these days.
  2. It might be a little too late to teach her to be a better person, I am afraid the best we can hope for is to teach her that consequences can sometimes be such that you need to alter your actions. Her biggest problem is that her friends and family have allowed her to get away with thinking the world revolves around her for too long. As long as she continues to think Will is the cause of all her problems she will hold on to her delusions and never realize that she has a problem. In my opinion she has no clue that she has done anything wrong.
  3. I agree with you Rickester! The only thing I didn't care for in the TV version was that in the books Hornblower was always questioning himself, but that TV version he didn't seem to have any self doubt. Hornblower was always doing the heroic and bravest of things while fighting with his self doubt questioning his ever action. The TV version didn't show any of that self doubt. I think that was what made his action so amazing to me was his lack of confidence in himself.
  4. Will has a quick temper, I can't see him ignoring those people without great will power (pun intended). Noah will be hardest for him to ignore, because he still thinks of him as a friend. My guess is that he can handle ignoring the others, but ignoring Noah will not be possible, especially if he has a chance to talk to him alone. I agree that JP will become more involved in this teen drama, but someone has to put the fear of god into his bitch of a granddaughter. I think she has fallen off the deep end. I think this has a lot more behind it that just taking some of the shine from her star.
  5. Are you sure you are talking about Calvert or you looking into a big ass mirror? Just kidding bro!!!!!! Well maybe a little. I rest my case....
  6. First of all Congo-rats on .your milestone. You and your stories has given so many such pleasure, that it seems it should be longer. I loved this chapter. I was glad to hear about the Maidstone branch of the story. It is hard to hear about the brutal deaths even though I think I would have enjoyed Maidstone's death could have been even more brutal. I hope our acting captain doesn't suffer too badly for having lost another ship. You managed to leave us with a cliffhanger, and I think most of us are hoping that Calvert can pull Humphries ass out of the fire, but they seem to be so out of position that it would be hard for Calvert happen upon them. It would be great if the group that went looking for help managed to find that help and could steal the corvette and come to the rescue. Again thanks for this fine tale congrats on your fifth year and I look forward to many more.
  7. I am having trouble finding any information about the Leander being captured, so I will just have to remain blissfully ignorant. If Granger is delayed that long, he most surely will lose his ship. I know I am such a worry wart, but I like Granger being frigate captain.
  8. Good job Ricky.

    Chapter 57

A very pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting this chapter until the 6th. Another wonderful job and a very exciting chapter. I guess not expecting the chapter and getting to read it late has one advantage. I get to read everyone's reviews. I can't think of a thing to add that hasn't already been said, so I will just say THANKS. Hip hip hurray, 3 cheers for our author.
  10. I was expecting the start of the battle today and of course, you didn't let us down. As I said in my review you do such a wonderful job of including enough human interaction to make us feel like we are with these people not just hearing about the battle from a storyteller. Thanks again for another fantastic chapter.

    Chapter 56

Once again another outstanding chapter. I truly enjoy the way you describe a battle. You give enough human interaction to give us an impression we are with these people not just hearing about it from a storyteller.
  12. A pleasant surprise to see a new chapter tonight. Wonderful job as usual. I am concerned Berry. Since he is younger (on the captains list), he should not have expected to be named captain of the fleet. I think Mark has laid the groundwork to make this more than just a passing thing. Glad to see George has found someone to keep him drained and happy in that department.
  13. I think the way Granger handled the elder Travers is much better. He gave him enough food for though that the Elder Travers will feel the guilt and understanding of how much damage he did to his son. I think he will be living with some guilt from now on that he had never felt before.
  14. I don't think anyone who has read this story or any of the series for that matter, would argue with you. It is truly amazing how he can use the history to the extent that he does to mix with his vision on how to make his characters so interesting.
  15. Our latest chapter has put Lord Granger in the path of being able to contribute to the thrashing the British would give the French at the battle of the Nile. Mark does such a great job of giving us vivid description of battle and making us feel like we are actually there fighting along with our hero. I can wait for the next chapter, feeling this adventure come to life.

    Chapter 54

Another fantastic chapter and I'm glad Granger is in position to offer his luck and services to Nelson. Of course, we know how the history of the battle turned out. but I am confident that you will give us so much more interesting view of the battle Granger has already contributed to the success of the battle by providing details of where to find the French and how they were deployed.
  17. I think you have your stories crossed. JP and Stef are about to be caught having to survive a storm on a wooden ship.
  18. Mark said not just no, but hell no on the Granger elder Travers getting together. He did put a smiley face with it though, so he might change his mind.

    Chapter 53

WOW, finding the elder Travers must be one in a billion. Of course, if John didn't fall far from the tree, Lord Granger might be able to seduce the father as he did the son.
  20. I guess you need glasses pal. That was an a IMPATIENT
  21. As I said in the other post about this, quit teasing and bring on the chapter. I will hazard a guess though and say he runs into the Bey that he took the ruby from.
  22. Well you tease, bring on the next chapter. Some of us are not good at being patient, hell, some of us are down right impatient.
  23. Back then they were all in the closet
  24. Sorry if we offended you. Ricky and I get carried away with our teasing at times.
  25. Welllllllllll
