Happy Birthday! I'm late but hope it was a good one!

Yes, he's a he and he does resemble Kiera Knightly. He really is pretty.
-
Looks familiar. Nice shot!

I didn't start it, Cia, but I'm not going to stand by and let some twit talk smack to me. Won't say another word about it. He can argue with himself now.

Do you walk on water as well as give advice and throw insults around?

The second sentence of my post didn't say anything about PRIVATE funds. It was meant as being able to support yourself, as I stated. You can live in lala land and think your judgment about other people is flawless but it's not. No one's is. Do you know EVERY thought, desire or deed of every person you choose to keep company with?? You don't, nor do they know yours. It's impossible, no matter how open you are with someone, to know everything. There's ALWAYS an IF. It's not about not trusting someone with money. It's about BEING ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. If you'd like to be a kept man, more power to you, but I like to know that I can take care of myself. What if your partner gets injured, becomes ill, or God forbid, passes away and you're the only one making the money?? You'll wish then that you maybe kept a little emergency fund aside. But go ahead and live in your little fantasy world where everything and everyone is full of rainbows and sunshine. I'll be here in the real world. As for putting my comment about being young and stupid in bold, you are incredibly rude and that was uncalled for. "However, the lesson learned shouldn't be how to defend yourself against other people but rather how to pick the right people that you wouldn't need to defend yourself. You can live your life always keeping a skeptic eye out for your own well being, but that's exhausting and in some cases, disrespectful." The lesson learned is to watch out for yourself so you don't get taken advantage of and choose better in the future. There's nothing disrespectful about having self-esteem and being confident in yourself and your abilities. I'm not a skeptic. I'm an optimist and a half. I always believe there's inherent good in people but based on my own personal experiences and things I've seen others go through, it's necessary to take care of one's self. Hope you get the point of my post but you likely won't.

Yang, I didn't say anything about private funds. I'm not talking about keeping secrets from your spouse or significant other. I'm talking about being able to support yourself IF something should go wrong. When you've had a boyfriend clean out your joint bank account and you can't pay your rent or bills or had your husband literally steal money and jewelry from you and allow you to think someone broke into your car another time, maybe you'll see my point. I was young and stupid when the ex-boyfriend did that to me and a little older but totally conned when my ex-husband did that, the same way he conned lots of his friends after we broke up. When I look back, I see the signs but when you're right there in it, you ignore lots of things or just plain don't notice them. That was a lesson to me. My current husband and I have been married for almost six years and together for nine. We've always had our own checking accounts. He pays certain bills and I pay others but we share our expenses, too. We don't hide money or anything like that and we don't look at anything financial as 'in case it doesn't work.' For me, it's a matter of being able to take care of myself and taking care of each other, too. He and I are partners in every sense of the word. Finances don't equate how you feel about your relationship.

That was so deeply and darkly disturbing and I loved it! There are so many what and why questions left unanswered but it was still very satisfying. "Rescued ... one way or another" was a perfect way to end this gothic mystery. Does he merely sleep or is all that pain the result of his body dying? I'm thinking he died. Whoever saved him was too late. Nice writing!

Make My Way Ricky stumbled out of a car near the underpass, adjusting his clothes before walking back to the building he, Snow and a couple other guys they worked with hung out in front of. He fumbled a pack of chewing gum from his front jeans pocket as he turned the corner and slid a piece out, stuffing the pack into his pocket again. He was trying to unwrap the piece with shaky hands when he glanced up to see if Snow was still there or if he’d been taken off by a trick. Instead of his

Is Her Voice Reminding You? Carlo hosted parties in the apartment from time to time. They were intimate gatherings of Carlo’s ‘friends’ that the man felt could be the most profitable to his business. Over the years that Snow had been living with the man, he had gotten used to entertaining the guests with one or two of the other boys in Carlo’s employ, usually one being another whore and one other there simply to provide party favors. Carlo’s thought was that people would be more apt to g

Exactly!!! lol Menorain ... sometimes an androgynous male can look just as androgynous with some scruff. Case in point ... Ashtyn can be totally feminine and also incredibly masculine. I personally love his scruff.

I admit to being a obsessive texter ... mostly to Orchid. I register around 8k texts per month. That being said, my phone is ALWAYS on vibrate even when I'm at home unless I am expecting a rare call that I can't miss by having it on vibrate. On the rare occasion that I have to take a call in public, I'll excuse myself to a place where I'm not being one of those annoying pain in the butts who think the whole world wants to hear their conversation. I don't like talking on the phone since my job as a hairstylist requires me to talk to people all day long so texting is my preferred form of communication. I am certainly not rude with my phone and don't text while I am in situations where it in inappropriate. I was bad for texting while driving but I don't do that anymore. Nothing is worth getting into an accident over even if I can text without looking at the phone. I think one of my best 'phone jerk' stories is when I called the name of a client to take back next and he was on his phone. He had been on the phone nonstop since he entered the establishment. I stood there for a moment while he continued to talk on his phone and held his finger up to me in a 'just a second' gesture. If you know me, you would know that I will NOT be dismissed in such a way but since I was at work I had to control myself. After about 30 seconds of this and no end of his conversation in sight, I told him I was putting him back in the queue and he'd be next in line. Why should the room full of people waiting have to wait longer because he's rude, obnoxious, and self-important? Most people I work with would have waited. I'm not that patient and to me, customer service to polite clients comes before some a-hole on the phone. While this client may be nice, the phone thing is a constant thing with him and it's rude. I've done his hair before and it's always the same thing. The phone rings and he grabs it and let me tell you, the conversations are not of earth shattering importance. Its not easy to do my job when someone is yapping on the phone and moving their heads around more than a young child would. 'Accidentally' cutting them is always tempting but I have too much integrity for that. This was more of a rant than I intended but I think it gets the point across. If nothing else, it made me feel better! lol

Giving Up and Giving In “What the hell are you thinking? If you get caught, Carlo’s going to fucking kill you, Ricky,” Snow was glaring at his friend seriously and shoving him against the corner of the brick alley wall to accentuate his point. “You can’t be doing this shit.” The blond flicked his hair back out of his face and shoved Snow away from him so he could pace back and forth instead of being cornered like a trapped dog. He couldn’t stand to see that look in his eyes and the

I think mistake number three is the most important. You can share bills, have joint accounts, but no matter what, always keep your own money, too. That goes for everyone. I believe in love and happiness and ever after but you never know when a curve ball can come your way and you need to be able to rely on YOU. Don't worry about love. It's all around you and when the time is right, you'll find your true one!

Cute, Jack! Don't listen to them talking about putting a shirt on in the snow. Keep your shirt off and stay skinny!

I've been in chat once and enjoyed it. I don't generally chat just because I'm always bouncing around and can't focus enough to stay in but I do like it. It's fun to get to see what other members are like. As for private chat, it doesn't matter either way to me. I figure if I want to say something privately to someone I can just PM them or something. It takes time to get used to the 'flow' of the chat room, though so if you're interested just give it a try and jump right in.

Right now, I have what I need in life to be happy. I always do.

Days and Days Snow heard the front door open clumsily and close with a quiet click and he looked over at the clock on the table next to the double bed. The bright red letters read five forty six in the morning and Ricky was just getting home almost three hours after Snow had called it a night. He wondered where Ricky had been for so long and how he always managed to come home later and later each night over the past couple months. He rarely came home before it started to get light out anymore.

Christmas Eve was awesome. Had a beautiful time with friends. Yesterday I spent sick as hell and on the couch all day. Even missed Christmas dinner. Still, watched some movies, gave hubby and our kitties their presents and got mine which were awesome and overall, not a bad time. Still had a horrific headache today and then realized that I hadn't had caffeine since a day and a half ago. I drank some soda and my headache went away quickly so there ya go!

First Time For Everything Ricky leaned back against the hard bricks of the building behind him and watched Snow as he chatted with a couple of other boys down the sidewalk. It was his first night on the streets and he was a little nervous about what was expected of him as far as picking up tricks and doing the actual job Carlo and Snow expected him to. It wasn’t the thought of doing those things with a perfect stranger that bothered him. He had been forced to do worse than that with his ow

Somewhat naughty question to GA members about the site
Stargazer commented on Tiger's blog entry in Strife and Harmony
I voted that I don't care one way or the other however, I kind of like this site the way it is. I write a ton of smut, enjoy porn in its various forms but there are a million other places on the internet to go for it. (Trust me. I've been to those million other sites! lol) This site is pointedly different and I like that about it. Nothing wrong with sharing links and whatnot in PM, of course!
