    Afterlife

I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. Loren and Michael seem to have a lot in common and yet, nothing in common at all ... yet, it seems. The attraction Michael expresses to himself about Loren is interesting, as it is so matter-of-fact. He's so much a kid, too, but also more mature in a lot of ways than he should be. Loren is charming and their conversation flows nicely. I'm curious as to what happened 'before' and what will happen once Loren 'makes' Michael. Very good beginning. I look forward to seeing more if and when you post!
  2. I was so sad to come home and hear this news. Jeff rocked and will be missed!
  3. I found this ... http://twinergyandth...an-strangebrew/ Maybe something will pop up about the story from here. Who knows? Found this, too. Hope something helps you all find his story ... http://en.gravatar.com/tristz3m Okay, bedtime.
  4. Awesome news!!!
  5. Thinking of you all and praying things go well.

  7. I wanted to be a rock star, a motocross racer, and a mechanic. Those are the three that I remember being most interested in when I was a kid. The closest I ever got to any of them is singing Karaoke! Girls just weren't supposed to want to do 'boy' things, I guess.
  8. Little late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :king:
  9. Dan Savage is the shit! I'm a huge fan of this project.
  10. Jeez! How awful, but it's good to hear he's doing better and out of the coma. Now I'm even more scared of spiders! Poor kid.
  11. I take a Xanax. Seriously.
  12. Very emotional words for a very emotional situation. I'm glad you posted.
  13. That is the funniest thing I've ever heard! I think I used to think that when I was younger. Maybe even now! hahaha

    Saying Goodbye

Thank you, Maria. Appreciate the comments.
  15. Love it!
  16. That's like someone giving away the ending of a movie you really wanted to see before you've seen more than the previews. I hate when people do that.
  17. Maria, I did a quadruple take on the figurine in the window!! lol Thought you had some kid peeking in at you. I'll be bold ... NICE BODY!!! Pat, I saw a guy the other day who oddly made me think of you! I think it was the hair.
  18. There's so many moments I would love to relive, none I would change, though simply because they all happened for some reason, even if I don't know the reason. I would go back to being a kid and relive every Christmas and Easter again at my grandparents' house with my entire family there before the family got too large to be all together like that. I'd relive moments with my best friend growing up because we were so young and clueless and had fun just being together. I'd also love to do the hanging out her and I did when we were just old enough to go out. We had some great times seeing bands, sneaking into bars before we were old enough to drink and chasing guys! lol There's more but that's just a little glimpse. I'd rather relive the good times than go back and change anything bad.

    Story

I really enjoyed this, Cia. It was very well written and put the reader in an interesting position with a lot to ponder if they were in the narrator's place. He does have quite a predicament and what does a person do when they believed the lies and gave into the apologies so many times? Do you follow your head or your heart when you finally can't deny it any longer? Nice work!
  20. This was definitely one of my favorites! Cute little kid under there, too! They had him on the Today Show or something this morning. I checked out the link they had on AOL.
  21. Right??!!! *eyeroll* Younguns! Characters ... hmm ... since I've been so preoccupied lately and haven't been here in a while, I'm going to choose a character familiar to me and one that is written by Stoned Orchid. I love Riley Reid. But I'd want to be a guy if I were with him!
  22. Crossing the Line Snow woke up alone for the third day in a row. Even though he normally couldn’t really sleep until Ricky was in bed with him, he had no choice when his body was ready to shut down. He reached up and grabbed the head of the mattress and stretched his body until he heard his back crack in three spots and his shoulder pop. He didn’t have to open his eyes to know he was alone in bed. The room just felt empty. Snow lay there listening for sounds of some noise outside his
  23. Moving away from things and people you know is usually of benefit when things are stale and I wish you luck with it.
  24. My smart assed (though, honest) reply is Xanax. I'm mostly optimistic to annoyance but I do have my darker days and that's when they help a ton. Other than chemical 'cures,' I would say to you that we all go through things day to day, and year to year. If you're going through a true depression, seek professional help because perhaps you need it. If it's just a case of everything kind of coming down on you at once and you're feeling overwhelmed, sometimes it does help to think of what you DO have that is good in your life. Think of the things that make you happy ... sometimes it's something so damn simple but it's important to you. Someone always has it worse off, you know? For some people, volunteering helps and since you said you do enjoy helping people, maybe that's something to look into. They say exercise helps but if you're truly miserable, hiding out, eating ice cream and watching some good movies may be better suited to you. I know I always feel better after a massage, too. Honestly, you MUST make time for yourself. I find that is key, at least in my life. Quiet time. You have a child so that's probably not something you get too often but even once a week, give yourself something to look forward to that's just for you. Always remember, this too shall pass.
