  1. So, did you live in France before London?
  2. Ah good, they’ve gotten the declarations of love out in the open. The last time Peter nearly forced the conversation, they were fishing and rudely interrupted by Scumble or Glaze... one of those trouble makers. Too bad Glaze escaped from the hospital; although, I can’t imagine he’ll find a warm welcome with MacFife. Matthew must have his hands full with the domestic bliss, two and a half kids, how quaint.
  3. Ha ha, I meant to give them a compliment. Damned by faint praise, I suppose. I know you like to challenge your heroes to the limits of their abilities, I’m sure they’ll continue to prove themselves admirably. Yes, Jon was very persuasive with his knife on Scumble’s foreskin. Perhaps, Peter’s charm will be more effective on the JP...
  4. That was about as productive as I could have hoped. MacFife escaped, but he's running out of heavies, and the evidence they obtained from Scumble's confession is not insignificant. There is the question of what they are going to do with Glaze, and Scumble's body. Also, I wonder how far the JP is willing to veer from the letter of the law...
  5. That was a close call. Peter did well thinking on his feet. CC and Scumble down, Glaze and MacFife left, and the tricky bit of exonerating Peter from Frances' murder.
  6. "too nervous to do anything really bad in this much less than secure environment." - This has me wondering what a 'normal' MacFife event looks like. I'm not sure I want to find out. It appears Jon said something to MacFife that was suitably condemning for CC; unfortunately, he's also suffered the consequences of falling out of line. Stuffed in a trunk, no good. Whatever will Peter do...?
  7. Quite the reconnaissance and rescue mission. Their sabotage will hopefully help them in the long run; unfortunately, it will also alert MacFife to their presence. Good thing the Alconas' are still unknown and can provide a safe house. More trouble ahead, I'm afraid...

    Chapter 15

Interesting. What kind of prompts are these students given? Are they vague, so every student interprets it differently, or specific, and result in a lot of similar essays?

    Chapter 15

Usually, I have an inkling of what is going on in the students' minds, but these two have me stumped: 'Obviously, it’s a ridiculous act to kill a dragon in a toilet.' and 'Nowadays, sex between lazy people is normal.' Must have been interesting essays, ha ha.
  10. So, a little more of Jon's backstory. I wondered how he'd gotten by in Brisbane. MacFife and CC are clearly up to no good. Jon's got the germ of an idea. Hmm - last time one of your character's got the germ of an idea it ended in an unresolved police investigation. I fear Jon's idea might be even more dangerous...
  11. Ah, Jon accepts and is accepted perfectly by the Alconas. How nice. Finally, Peter has a medical professional tend to his wounds. And they have a chance to recover and enjoy the wilderness. One almost forgets how many bad things are waiting for them outside the circle of their sanctuary.
  12. Give up! Oh my, things have really gotten desperate...
  13. Oh dear, this is worse than I thought. Troubles press in from every side, how will our heroes survive? And what will Jon think of the Alconas? They have a very different family philosophy than the one he was raised in.
  14. It must be all the thrillers I’ve been reading lately... always looking over my shoulder, worrying over strangers intentions, a paralyzing paranoia about police... Hmm... maybe I should read some light romances, shake the tension off.
  15. Ha ha, I love the romantic banter. Lots of gems, ‘I get a hard-on when you shift into lecturing mode.’ 'I knew I wasn’t queer. I was simply over-sexed from eating so well for a change.’ So, they survived the trek. Barely, it seems. Hopefully, they will have a chance to recuperate at Hank and Celia's. If the police are investigating Patrick's disappearance, Jon and Peter may be their primary suspects.
  16. Ah, perhaps Patrick shot Glaze. The adrenal was so high, everything is a blur...
  17. That was a close call! Patrick has proven useful after all. In exchange for his bigoted troubles, he did get shot... but, we all get what we deserve? Is that how it goes? I sure hope Peter and Jon manage to take shelter and recover in the forest. I don’t know what sort of natural predators you have there, we have bears and mountain lions and that sort...
  18. "‘Where’s Jon?’ ‘At my place.’ ‘Where’s that?’ I told him." No Peter, no! Never tell the potentially evil people where your secret base is! Of course, things went from bad to much much worse quickly after this. A brutal chapter. Now Peter's hardly out of danger and Jon's a sitting duck. We still don't know what the deal with the Artworks kitsch is, money-laundering, drugs, or something unexpected and terrible that only Rigby Taylor would think up?
  19. I will be sure to bundle up for the next chapter. Rain jacket, snow boots, wool hat, mittens, might as well pull out the winter long johns. Definitely, not going to grab a ball cap and shades...
  20. Interesting... We are still no closer to figuring out what is going on with Artworks, but Peter is ready to let go of his dreams for the gallery. Will Frances let him walk away, no strings attached? Does she have any power to force him to stay? There is something awfully fishy about her and Artworks and Max’s death. Then there’s the question of the vandalized cottage. How will Hank react to Peter’s suspicions?

    Chapter 12

Yes, and MJ is usually short for Mary Jane or marijuana and KOBE clearly isn’t initials at all, but a first name. I think the writer had wires crossed on a few counts.

    Chapter 31

My mom had to fight tooth and nail to get us children to clear our stuff out of their house, so they could downsize. Still trying to figure out if I really need any of it junking up my closets... Every time I go through it to trash everything, I end up piling it all back in.

    Chapter 30

You’re right, you were lucky you didn’t get the dog killed. This trip does not seem to be going well for her.
  25. Yes, and it does seem to come back to bite us at unfortunate times. Jon has already attempted a cop out once, when he propositioned himself to Peter. He needs to wrap his head around what he wants and accept it (or reject it and leave Peter alone), before he will be ready for a real relationship. Luckily, Peter doesn't appear willing to accept less; although, he's having trouble keeping his head on straight. The closer he and Jon get, the more his feelings encroach on rational thought. Not to mention, he's dealing with the mental strain of the troublesome events occurring all around them...
