Quite a ride of highs and lows. They are doing remarkably well, as such a young couple, facing intense discouragement and trials at every turn. Robert handled Bart's mother expertly. Hopefully, the disco will be a chance to release tension.

Would this be a Rigby Taylor novel without some good, clean, naked dancing fun? I remember reading Line of Beauty by Hollinghurst. I thought it was very well written for the dull the subject matter. Drugs, lust, and life's usual miseries. Not particularly inspiring material...

I love the descriptions of nature. It is, unsurprisingly, a very different assortment of flora and fauna than we have in Montana. It is fortuitous Robert and Bart have such an intelligent and sympathetic couple to talk with about their lives and futures.

One can hope humanity will correct it’s coarse, but little evidence of that appears in contemporary politics. Certainly not in the current state of the USA. A very pleasant ending for Frankie and László. I trust they will all live happily at ‘85’ with no major disasters, no more bodies piling into the cave, no bush fires burning through their property, etc. 😉 At the very least, please give them a few weeks of honeymooning before adventure falls into their laps, as Frankie seems hard pressed to avoid such entanglements. Thanks for sharing and commenting! It was a fun, if somewhat anxiety ridden journey. I’ll now go take a relaxing swim in our polluted river and stop thinking about why the world is falling apart, until I can relax the protective knot of muscles in my shoulders and chest and the intense pressure in my head subsides.😅

Oh dear... here we go again. Glad Frankie had a couple pleasant days to recharge and enjoy the simple pleasures of traveling. I’m guessing these questionable new acquaintances will lead Frankie back into troubled water. Wouldn’t want the last few days in India to be boring!

Lucien is a mess. Based on his choices so far, I doubt he’ll make it longer in India without Frankie or his friends assisting him. Real deprived move at the end. Luckily, we had the competent motorbike driver Rajeev on hand for a thrilling chase.
