I didn't find it awkward at all, nice game with a nice twist by getting Kaplan to distract Cyrus. I really loved the after game party for two, you managed to describe a real cozy scene near the fireplace.
Thanks for this awesome chapter, @astone2292
So good… thanks for the treat, @Carlos Hazday. My list of places to visit, eat at, drink on etc. keeps on growing…
All the best after a nice Mediterranean paella on the shore! 🥂😋
Thanks for this chapter, @Lux Apollo, the reflection in it shows a great deal of depth in the character, a great depth in the person you created and are sharing with us.
W. H. Auden’s blues in the back of my mind,
all clocks stand still, time has stopped.
That love could have lasted forever,
but it did not.
Time and love, both meant forever,
both, though, ending in a flash,
both able to warmly simmer along,
both pushing and pulling, till they broke.
We stopped all the clocks,
we cut off the telephones,
we silenced the pianos,
we put out every star.
Although,
and this is the wonder of lost love,
each of us, alone, broken,

Loved the story and the way you put a nice school day story together with some teaching about coral reefs and environment. Again a beautiful job, @Carlos Hazday
To be one with the air,
unravaged by summer;
thirsting for freshness,
eager for peace.
The salt of life
cauterizes unscathed
the perpetual wound
inflicted by lost love.
Like salt, I wish
to absorb into my core
every shadow around,
to dissolve, infinite,
in the Light.
In the Light I will be able
to be permanently,
to flow anonymously,
gleaming though invisible.
From the Light that I am
I will be sheltering my people
all along their ways

Getting two chapters on the same day is a treat in itself, seeing how the story of Tani and Dante is developing is just fascinating. Good writing, fantastic storytelling… More, please!
Like a light
once so bright,
I will vanish
in a memory
without anger
nor regret,
without missing
nor being missed.
From afar,
my new home,
I will enjoy
the happiness
once shared
and find my way
through the turmoil
of life in solitude.
I’m just getting a tad too attached to this world: Vincent, Mason, Kaplan, Cyrus… they’re just too good to want to miss them. Thanks, @astone2292, for creating this Vince-verse!
Thanks for my CJ-fix just before starting the weekend. Our boy is going places, nothing new here. Great interaction with Sir Kent, who is sure turning into quite a mentor (golf-wise too!). How can a chastised Northman still sound so full of "assholishness"*?
Good job, @Carlos Hazday, looking forward to the next chapter.
*I've borrowed the word from JP Crampton (thanks, @Mark Arbour)
A forest in Winter,
steely cold the air
as a new day is dawning.
Light opens up a path
through calm woods,
light colors in harmony
the gaze of the walker.
Chest swelling
in the cold breeze,
the smells of the forest
waking up your senses.
In the swift slumber of silence,
at dawn you finally find
the seeds of light
which will turn
into a garden
your wounded heart.
