  1. At the beginning: coming into life to doting parents, to loving siblings, finding myself in a sheltered place; feeling safe, secure, loved. Time to move away, up to a new start. A new beginning: finding my place in life, changing places, changing countries, changing languages, founding my own family, wife, kid, feeling once again safe, secure, loved. Until everything shatters: up then again to a new start. A different beginning, finding my place in

As usual, the interaction with César and Brett is just perfect, thanks for bringing the Granddads to DF! I’m rooting for Northman being transferred to the US Consulate in Vladivostok, if there’s not one yet, he could be the first transfer there, toilettes should be kept clean and I’m quite sure, such a highly principled man is the right fit for the job. Again, a real treat for a Friday, thanks @Carlos Hazday

    Gratitudes

Dear Parker, I’ve wrote other poems (I used to say “texts”, I know better -just different- now), but I think this one of mine can be a good reaction to this beautiful container of emotions and feelings you have shared here with us. http://english.joseantoniocalanyascontinente.com/2017/12/a-prayer.html?m=1 Thanks for sharing your precious art!

    Chapter 7 - A Look

    Thank you, @Parker Owens!
  5. A look clean and bright A thought positive and pure Air so light and exhilarating Sadness lurking around. Breathing deep, slowly Eyes closed, sparkling Looking at the void inside Time seems asleep. Void inside Slowly filling up with the light Of what you lived Of what is awaiting you. Again on the move Free and positive Sad… Alive. A look so clear A future so longed for A present going on.

    A Treasure Lost

May I use this verse to write a bit of my own poetry? It’s so beautiful, evoking, inspiring…

    A Treasure Lost

@Wayne Gray, I’m binge-re-reading your work and had to change my reaction to this chapter. The verse “hace you bled the blood?” is such a beautiful jewel… thanks for your beautifully crafted art.

    Footprints

Gary, that you think so high of my writing, being the author I’ve come to love and cherish… no words for that, really, no words (my friends here would be laughing their backsides off at me not finding g words 😝). Thank you

Petrarca… Italian Renaissance was definitely more open than religion and society let on. Feel honored that my “footprints” take you back to such a huge poet, @AC Benus

    Footprints

Thanks for reading, Parker, that is also the image that inspired this poem.
  11. Footprints lonely in the tracks, footprints together in the woods; footprints erasing one another, footprints, though on the ground helping each other to go forth in life. Footprints of endless straight ways, footprints of loves fought and felt; footprints of growing together hand in hand, footprints of differences so beautiful, so intense. Footprints of love turned to pain, footprints awakening in light, in a song, footprints rem

Nice chapter, I find it always nice how CJ is able to expand his social network with interesting people. BTW, “Bosch” can be a Catalan family name? It’s an alternate spelling to “Bosc” (it means forest), it will probably be a Jewish family name)

    All of a Sudden, Rain

Thank you, AC. The idea of water as a source for renewal and renewal being what was needed at the time I wrote the poem was paramount.
  14. Fresh scent after the rain, wet soil, dreamy recalling happy memories. Fresh air after the rain, intense fragrance, intoxicating every sense is awake. Resounding echoes after the rain, fruitful smell of captivating life, of a new-born spring. Early after the rain, eager to blossom and laugh, to be again just a kid playing with fresh water on the ground.

It’s been a strange week so far, thanks though, @Carlos Hazday, for reminding me it’s a Friday. after reading the new CJ treat a question comes up: how many chapters till Northman gets his backside handed to him on a platter? Loved this chapter, Mr. Hazday, thank you!

    A New Dawning

Thanks for reading and commenting, AC. Love is water, loving and living mean we have to know how to swim… somehow snorkeling to be completely surrounded by love, but breathing and rejoicing in being alive.
  17. Paint me in the colors of the sea, in the soft blue of the breeze, in the blue green of saltwater. Talk to me in soothing sounds, in the voice of the waves, in the caress of the wind, in the warmth of your touch. Let me breathe in the air of a new day, wallow lazy in the green of a forest, drift around in the sea of life, enjoy the voices of a thousand birds. Take me under your wings, carry me in your embrace: let me be my best version, let me just b

Way to go, @Carlos Hazday, thank you for the new chapter. And so the plot thickens ("the thick plottens" came repeatedly to mind, sorry 😝). Interesting development how the tech-magician takes charge, maybe he can reset CJ's boss. Thanks again!

    A Quandary

@AC Benus, @Parker Owens, I feel so honored that you take the time to react and comment… The quandary I write about in this poem is quite real, family, friends, places where I feel at home are really all around the world. For a long time, a (long) family weekend implied about 2000 miles driving… Places where my heart wants to settle in are really scattered all around, I never seem to be able to settle for a place without feeling I’m leaving precious people behind… Thanks for reading and commenting! JA
  23. Out of place, here and now, although there and then. Aware of what is, thinking of what could be. A rainy winter day, recalled solitude and present company. Longing for the gift of ubiquity which will allow, at last, to meet the longings of a heart full of scattered affections. On the shores of the Mediterranean longing for the Pacific, feeling on the banks of river Turia the calling from Tormes and Guadalquivir. On the shore of solitude enjoy

I must have been a good boy this year to be spoiled like this... Next year I'll do my best NOT to be a good boy, sure it will get even better! 😝. Thanks for spoiling us with a third chapter for Christmas, @Carlos Hazday, merry Christmas to you and yours! JA
