  2. Has anyone heard from our charming frog? I worry that the hurricane that passed over DR caused him problems.
  3. Young guys are like puppies, adorably cute and cuddly and fun to play with but I want one that's housebroken.
  4. Does anyone else think the Norwegian gold medal decathelete is swoon worthy?
  5. So if I'm not mistaken @Bucket1 should be waking shortly to what I hope is a glorius birthday.
  6. We should be. Of course it's estimated to arrive here in SC about the same time I plan to leave for PA.
  7. Oh, okay, if you say so.
  8. Hmmm, so BoomBoom is Chaotic Neutral?!?
  9. Congrats to them both. *SIGH* I guess I shouldn't plan on him joining the herd.
  10. Oh, I'm not, he can still visit his dad anytime they want.
  11. Well, because he's so often being hypocritical it just seems like "everything".
  12. Then he'll be ... MINE!
  13. I had the same thought.
  14. Or, you could invite us all to dinner.
  15. Mum would freeze. She has a lap blanket she uses and here the ac is set at 76°f.
  16. The heat indice today reached 105/40°. Now we're being pummeled by a heavy t-storm.
  17. So instead of my cooking dinner last evening mum decided we should go out. As a result we are having last evenings meal tonight. Truth be told I am more worn out today than yesterday. It was raining this morning when I woke so I thought "Oh good, no work in the yard today." Well, instead we went out for brekkie, stopped by the office of her telephone/internet/cable co-op and then went grocery shopping. After all that I went outside to check something and decided since there was a light overcast I might do a bit of weeding. I was out there 2 hrs and after the first 30 minutes the sky cleared and there was bright sunshine. I perspired a bit, to the point I was a dirty, drippy, sweaty mess. However, I did accomplish a lot. The lawns here are mostly made up of an insidious weed called centipede grass. The name comes from it's habit of spreading by throwing long runners that have leaves sticking off the sides resembling the legs on a centipede. The damn stuff is invasive and once it gets into a flower bed the only recourse is to dig it out because by nature it is very hardy stuff. I am fighting it in a couple of places. Sadly, it's in among mum's azalea bushes where I can't dig it up without damage to their roots. There I pull it as best I can. Another spot was among some pencil hollies. That's where I was working today. Two if the hollies are dying so I've removed one and was able to dig most of the weed from around it. The other will have to wait until I get back here the winter. I will eventually win but it can be discouraging as I cleared most of that area before we went to PA in April. Ah well, could be worse, it's not poison ivy and there weren't any snakes, we have copperheads here, hiding amongst the shrubs this time.
  18. Wow, all those vintage drilling documentaries gone ...
  19. I remember sitting with my uncle while he had dialysis. This was 20+ years ago. Mum usually went but when she and my stepdad would come to SC over the winter I would do it. Not every time but typically once or twice a week. Eventually my sister donated a kidney and dialysis was no longer necessary.
  20. It has happened and, if you ever see an underwater shot when the diver swims back to the surface he'll often be tugging his suit back up over his bum.
  21. Today is a return to the usual warmth and humidity and in a day or so a return to dangerous heat indices. This morning after we returned from breakfast I spread a few bags of mulch and pruned one last shrub. Then mum and I sat in the shade and enjoyed the early sea breeze for a bit. Now after the second shower of the day I am kicked back to relax a bit hoping that my morning endeavours don't trigger a migraine. If all goes to plan tonight for dinner we'll have cheese tortellini tossed with sauteed zucchini, red bell pepper, onion and cherry tomatoes.
