    Just Desserts

Not a fan of Black Forest cake but I did enjoy it here. Your turn of phrase is wonderful. The last bit was so innocently naughty.
  2. Mum, as do I, thanks you all for your kind wishes for her recovery. She ate her normal brekkie of Cheerios, fresh blueberries and yogurt. Took a tylenol for discomfort and has been resting quietly since. The actual cuts don't look any worse the you might expect. The bruising however is much more evident. Both eyes are bruised down below her cheekbones and one the right extends down below her chin. I told her it was nice she chose a nice magenta/lavender tone for her bruises as it's far more appropriate to the Easter season than typical black and blue. We decided it's not that she has a balance issue but rather needs to be careful with unusual steps. The times she's fallen have been instances where the steps were not standard height and so she hadn't lifted her foot high enough.
  3. Most folks wouldn't be so bold as to confess that but then again it's you.
  4. Mum tripped yesterday going in to a friends. She as a large gash in her forehead that required 23 stitches, another small cut just below her right eye that took 2 stitches and glue to close and a gash on her left shin just antibiotic ointment and a bandage for it. Her right eye is black and blue and swollen nearly closed. At least it was before bed last evening. It's not quite her normal wake up time so I haven't seen her yet this morning. Fortunately, the CT scans showed no internal injuries to her face or head. She had a very kind and gentle young resident doc who spent well over an hour carefully closing her wounds. Yes, he was attractive and married but had a wonderful sense of humor. He and mum kidded while he worked. The fact mum is retired nurse gave them something to chat about. For the record mum is not a good patient. She's not difficult or demanding rather she hates being the one tended to. Expecting a quiet day here.
  5. I hope all goes well for him and you.
  6. Texy, just remember to swab your barrel before you ram the next charge home. Otherwise you may experience a premature explosion.
  7. Treacle sweet and sappy.
  8. Oh, I thought she was talking about Drew ...

    After Party

Just because you've written a lot of them doesn't mean some don't feel too short. We are just a bunch of hungey little birds ... chirp, chirp, chirp.

    After Party

It's very simple really. You wait impatiently for the current Chief Justice to retire or expire. Roo and Jeffer are still baking so there's plenty of time.

    The Runner

Leaving readers wanting more is fairly common. It should tell you that we like what you wrote. If you feel the need to add to the story that's great if not that's okay too. I once wrote and posted small bits of poetry on GA. A change in migraine meds put my muse to sleep and I've yet to shake him awake.

So you put him on the Court, excellent. Not the end to the Liston's visit one would hope but very necessary and it explains much.

    Chapter 5

I told you there was something odd about that cat.
  15. Hi. For the most part yes, thanks, though I've an achy head that's got me hiding in the dark in my room. I think the double posting may be site related not specific to anyone's computer.

    Chapter 1

    I like these two already.
  20. Well, you've answered my query as to how you would continue your informational dialog once the interview was complete. It was simple really, just invite a former president and first lady to dinner. I am very much enjoying this storyline. It provides a lot of insight into CJ and Owen's thoughts and planning for the future while remaining light and entertaining. Now about that slight cliffie ending ...
  21. G'den y'all. It has been a wet morning. There's a cold front on way bringing us a another few days of unseasonable cold (Some say a gift from the Canadians but me, I don't believe it. The Canadians are such nice people I can't imagine them trying to freeze mum's toes.) with frost and freeze warnings. The temp has dropped 5°f from when I woke this morning. My head aches and my left eye is being inordinately troublesome. I've been spending the morning hiding in my darkened room listening to soft ambient music. I got up to eat a couple slices of rye toast for brekkie to put something in my stomach so I could take more meds. Oh, and for the mid day eye drops. Hope the rest of you are having a better, brighter day.
  22. Thanks Page. I've liked those suits since I first saw them years ago, plus, the Pipes and Drums were wearing plaid. What's more is they're singing Caledonia, Scotland if you will. This version also features an adorable teenage Damian McGinty. While Celtic Thunder still performs this early grouping no longer exists, most have left, one is deceased.
  23. Made with authentic Guinness beef.
  24. 90% is some really dark chocolate.
