  1. Glad you were able to enjoy a walk in the sunshine. It wasn't that long ago the turtles were out sunning themselves in the unseasonable warmth. Now they're all hiding because it has turned unseasonably cold. Every time I see them I am reminded of you.
  2. Hi bro ... Still a bit chilly for wearing speedos, air temp 51/10°, water temp 62/16°.
  3. Awww, that's so cute.
  4. Whines, stomps his feet, throws tantrums but he does not beg ... often.
  5. Is that the same planet occied by the Little Prince? Are you the dancing man?
  6. NEWS BREAK: God and Emperor Says Short Legs Required Him to Have a Five Year Head Start in Race for KPOP Stars.
  7. He needs to speak Spanish to talk to the kpop boys?
  8. I do not hoard them. I share my eye candy, permitting them free range to wander as they will. Just DO NOT get handsy with them, that's simply rude and disrespects their personal space. Nor do I brand or visibly mark them as some might. The tracking chip implants are small and innocuous things. I have never made an attempt to claim one of your kpop boys, they are undoubtedly pretty to look at but are not mine.
  9. Oh, I'm sure that's the reason. Her recipe calls for more liquid in the filling than ours, so it will be comparatively looser. The recipes we have just use, molasses, water and baking soda. The dry ingredients also absorb some moisture during baking helping the filling set. There is a similiar pie, Montgomery pie, that uses an egg in the filling. Montgomery pie adds lemon to the filling and has a more cake like topping. It's not as widely available as Shoo fly pie? Perhaps, because the ingredients were historically less readily available, particularly in frugal Plain households.
  10. Whew, I thought it was gonna be your "son" Spikey who got to hug the kpop boys.
  11. Interesting, I've not encountered a recipe that uses egg. Mum and I have a few recipes in our files given us by different folks. Without exception they are old family recipes handed down by grandmas, mine included, Plain folk (Amish, Mennonite, Brethen) and fancy (us ordinary types). They are all basically the same with minor tweaks to the amount of ingredients. Likely due to the recipes predating standardized measuring cups, etc.
  12. Scenery or cute guys along the road? Travel safely.
  13. They do. Sadly, it's too warm at mum's to grow them and by the time I return home mine there have finished blooming.
  14. Even with the Ministry of Drewth working at full ability no one would believe you were the responsible parent in that relationship. Though a palace coup might be fun to watch.
  15. We've been enjoying them for awhile. Hyacinths bloomed last month. Daffodils are in bloom now. Mum's tea roses have buds and knockouts have been blooming a couple of weeks. The redbuds are mostly finished and a couple of dogwoods are just beginning. All very early because of the unseasonable warmth last month. Last night we had an unseasonable freeze warning and expect cold again tonight. I was busy yesterday covering all the plants with tender new growth
  16. A classic from my home in PA. I've eaten a few slices over time. Where did you get your recipe?
  17. Well, I've got to go rest my eyes. Later y'all.
  18. You shared enough of your nukes with the world.
  19. I'm a parent not a tyrant. Want me to send you to bed without any supper?
  20. Oh, and I have to tell you. I'm disappointed you haven't mentioned ...
  21. Mum very very rarely is out and about without me. Still, I'm staying with her at her house, ergo, even were she not here you still nuked mum. Shouldn't you be packing or something?
  22. Well, I obviously had doubts and hoped to shame you into being more loving and sharing.
  23. When you dropped them on me in SC you dropped them on mum. You're far too young to be having such memory issues. Perhaps we should look into a care facility.
  24. If you have to ask then, yes. In all seriousness. I'm glad you and your family have had this time together. Enjoy the remaining time and travel safely.
  25. Just get some kids to stack up some Legos. The wall doesn't need to be very tall. He has hobbit legs. When he tries running around the end just slide the wall. It'll be like using a laser to tease the cat. Yes, I'm being very mean. It's payback for dropping nukes on mum.
