    Hope things went okay B. I sent my dad a text on Sunday to wish him a happy Easter only to learn he was in hospital due to an active coronary event. It seems that he'd been having tightness in his chest off and on for about two weeks but blamed it on asthma and copd. Finally this past Friday a couple of neighbors found out and convinced him he needed to go to the er. He was admitted for observation over the weekend and then had an echocardiogram and catheterization mid-day yesterday. Both went well and the doc thinks he can be treated with meds so no surgery or stents. Dad was discharged at noon today and went home. Dads!?! What are you to do with 'em?

    The most severe weather has passed we did have a brief period under a tornado warning but that too passed. Still the rumbling of thunder and gusts of wind. Things are expected to improve by early afternoon. Hope your weather doesn't become severe Val.

    We are expecting severe weather shortly, the storm line is about 60 miles to the west. We are currently under both high wind warnings until late afternoon and a tornado watch until noon. Enjoy your garden Marty.

    Cool. You can control the level of salt. I think I would also blend my own chili powder.

    Mum and I had lunch with the neighbors. We sat outside at the table on their patio. We had baked ham, both potato and macaroni salads, cole slaw, steamed broccoli and biscuits. For dessert we had brownies with vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries.

    I have a distinct fondness for pears with blue cheese. I very much enjoy the juxtaposition of sweet juicy pear and the pungency of the cheese.

    Greetings Albert. The day started well and accomplished some of what I'd hoped but then my head forced me to take a respite for the afternoon. Thank you for asking.

    It's currently 61/16° and breezy here with bright sunshine. Decidely cooler than yesterday's 84/29°.

    That looks tasty. I think if I were to use pears in place of the apples I would also substitute gorgonzola for the cheddar.

    I read both the earlier version and the one posted here. I think the cameraman was an insensitive ass, job or not. He was not filming for the evening news. There were rules in place regarding how residents were to be treated and Henk was to be left alone per his request. Henk's suicide does not negate his right to privacy. Death does not erase a person's human worth. For the camera guy to think he could violate the sanctity of Henk's home merely to get sensational footage was beyond acceptable. I feel the same way about the looky-lous who slow down at accident scenes so that they can gawk in morbid fascination.

    Me, I'd opt for the fish and chips. I can boil pasta anytime ... as a matter of fact that's what I intend for dinner. Though I'm doing a whole wheat penne with carmelized onions ... close your eyes Val ... sauteed mushrooms, sundried tomatoes in a marsala sauce and crumbled gorgonzola.
