As the customer, I would be more afraid of the gift she would leave me! 😲 However, like most books and movies in the medieval sword & sorcery genre, pregnancy (unless it's germane to the plot) and STDs don't exist.😁

Sev is sneaky here. I don't think that Christoph caught that last part. Sev even tells Christoph that Lukas is his "nephew." Later, Christoph confronts Lukas about his "little" omission to which Lukas replies: Then, Katrina confronts Christoph about how he feels about Lukas. Lukas is already enamored with Christoph. Now all we need is for Christoph to admit the same for Lukas. Let the Games Begin!

I am thrilled to see that Greg is taking the time to organize his Barony. As far as I recall, this didn't happen in the original version... At least, not to this extent. The amount of detail shown here displays Greg's willingness to modernize the Barony, keeping the traditions necessary for the benefit of those who work for him, yet modernizing and streamlining things for a more efficient use of people and capital.

I'm glad that someone addressed this. Even for size queens, there is a point where too large is dangerous for the receiver, regardless of sex or cavity.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out the structure of this "Organization." We have the "Dons." They are the heads of their "Family." We have the "Enforcers." They belong to their Dons and do their bidding. Then we have someone like Shanice. She instills fear into the Dons. Jake would be an enforcer for her and I assume in training to take her place. So who is she?

I would think, at least one more period of stasis. What is now worrying me is where Athena will reside. On the ship (which with age can deteriorate) or will the manufacturing processes be technical enough to reside on the planet? Yes. Joel, being the commander that he is, must know the technical level of the Earth and the other colonies. Can't prepare without that knowledge.

While we don't know how old Christoph is, I think I can see something developing between him and Lukas. It may just be friendship, but who knows? It could be something more. That might present a whole new dilemma for a young couple from different countries.

Back in Chapter 8 (the depositions), it was implied that the right questions were not asked. That also implies that Jill just might remember the sexual abuse and is not suppressing the memories: If this is true, then Jill does not need a hypnotist - There is a lot of controversy over false (implanted) memories and even the admittance in court of recovered memories. This is going to be interesting to see how the People of Ark II evolve. It is also going to be interesting if those of Old Earth find them, how they find them, and how those new people react to the new humans! ... Assuming the story goes that far.

So much to untangle here. This chapter has brought tears to my eyes. Certain emotions that I've hidden for such a long time. In 1968, I joined the USMC. A High School friend found out and joined in what they called the "Buddy Plan." That was a concept where friends could join and they stayed together... They didn't say that staying together only meant through boot camp. We kept in contact after that until he got shipped off to Vietnam. I followed a few months later. The last I heard was that he was killed in An Hoi Valley. 😭 45 years later, he had tracked me down. It was a very tearful reunion. 🤣
