Before I move on to read Chapter 56, I just have to answer this... This assumes that Calvin has a valid passport. Um, do the boys? Then there is the matter of any long-term stay in a foreign country - do they have Visas'? These all take time to acquire. In the meantime, you file an appeal and request an injunction to surrender their passports. They (Calvin and Co.) are flight risks.

LOL! In my mind, I picture her as the Pillsbury Doughboy in drag... I'd use the image from Ghost Busters, but that image is copyrighted.

Billy and Trever really should talk to Kenny about his options. The truth is sometimes a harsh mistress but it is better to know than to be blindsided. As for the Judge, it is easy to see that he knows he is toast on appeal. He has made so many reversible errors that it is likely an appeal would throw his decision to the lions. This is why he is allowing Billy the introduction of his evidence, hoping to save his butt on appeal (should he actually rule in favor of Calvin).

Since I haven't read the old version, I can give you my impressions of the story, as if it's the first time I've read it... Oh, wait! It is the first time!!! LOL! It's painfully obvious these two boys like each other way more than just as friends. It's also obvious that neither of them is willing to admit it to the other. I so remember the awkwardness of that age and the feeling that if you say anything, you will lose your friend. And now, you are to be separated all through your upcoming high school years. It's a tough time of life.

Somehow I missed this... I mentioned FoxNews early on when the news first went national. They ridiculed Nevada and the other MSMs for being hypocritical. In chapter 5, Uncle George talking: Whether or not FoxNews continued to follow the story is anybody's guess.

I reiterate, do not use such a broad brush.

I don't know how it is in other "red" states, but here in Idaho (one of the "reddest' states) we take elder abuse very seriously. Don't be painting with such a broad brush!

Yup. Peter wears a white hat...

Sorry to say, but I expressed it in the only way I knew. Power trip, huh? It certainly sounds reasonable to me!

There is something mentally wrong with people like the late Baron. Normal sexual drives are not satisfied with such young playthings. Looking for a true deviant or pervert? Look no further! Greg has already shown that he is something more than a "normal" vampire. This little fight has just made proof of that fact. Something that I think Prince George has already figured out.

Oh, Goody! I really loved how you tinkered with Beyond Salvation!

That's the key, right there. Being honest with each other builds trust. Trust and communication are the mainstays of any relationship.

I originally wrote this as a one-off Christmas story for Castle Roland’s 2021 annual event. My mind simply wouldn’t let go of the premise. I wanted to tell more about what Pete was going through. So what was a short story of about 3600 words, has become an expanded prologue of about 5800 words. From this expanded prologue I developed an urge to tell Peter’s story beyond that one fateful day. My thanks go to JonDom, one of Castle Roland’s beta readers, and a terrific idea man. Thanks also to Roland who gave me ideas to further the characterization. And thanks to Scott, my editor. Without their unselfish help, this tale wouldn’t be nearly as well spun. There is some of my own life in this story. Most of that falls into the prologue, although some parts are scattered throughout the rest of the story. The one thing I never anticipated was the reception I received here at GA as I began posting the story. Thanks to all of you for responding so kindly. I am glad that my scribbles have entertained all of you. I hope the next part of Pete's story is as well received.

I suspect we can pretty well determine what Margaret said to the police. From what I've gathered about Australian police (and I hope I'm wrong), they pretty much will believe anything detrimental about gay folk. At least up until more recent times. If it is any consolation, many US police forces are still that way.

The plan was made. All that was needed was to implement it, starting tomorrow. After Officer Farley left, I looked at the time and realized it was well after 4 pm. Dang! I was supposed to be over at Luciano’s. To be fair, I should call him and let him know I wouldn’t be able to make it today, or any time this week. What with the plans Dad and Farley had outlined, the time I needed to spend with Jimmy, practice tomorrow, and the game on Saturday, I just didn’t have the time. I sure hope Luke will

This is the sentence that I took exceptional note of: Luke's insecurities aside, Matt would never place himself in that position. First, it would betray Luke. I don't believe Matt could do that. Second, it plays into the hands of a scheming youth that could put Matt behind bars for a very long time. That's assuming that Matt could survive such a prison sentence. This is where I believe we are with Tony's behavior. Consider, that Tony tried to kiss Matt and was rebuffed. Now he is trying to force a fracture between Luke and Matt, so he can have Matt's affections. It's an understandable sophomoric attitude and action.

One pill makes you larger And one pill makes you small. And the one that Mother gives you Don't do anything at all. Go ask Simon When he's ten feet tall... Yup. I feel like I've fallen down a rabbit hole!

WOW!!! I had forgotten how Tony had messed up Matt. The little sh*t! Things would have worked differently if Aunty Margaret hadn't heard what Tony tried to tell Luke, the vindictive little brat. Instead, we have Tony trying not to provoke his homophobic mom, he continues the lie about what happened with Matt.

That was an abbreviated version. It certainly was nowhere as detailed as it was in the prologue! When I wrote this part, I knew that Pete had to experience the trauma when Mitch asked why he was in Elko and not at home. As others have mentioned, it was a cathartic moment for Peter. Thank you, @GanymedeRex. I trust you will find the rest of the story is as good as these initial chapters.

If I remember correctly, Tony has his own story of when he shows up in Thompsonville after his Dad kicks him out. Something like that. I think.

Here in Idaho, it was a voter initiative that was passed into law. It was sold to the public because the two largest employers, Ore-Ida (now McCains) and Simplots, exported a lot of potato products. Billions of dollars worth. They had to have unions or the dock workers wouldn't touch their product. Didn't matter how many employees were actually union members, so long as some were. The union was a matter of political convenience. Forget about the employees for the moment. Ask the employers and I bet they would go for it.

Elko is a redneck town. Its saving grace is that the people abide by a 'live and let live' motto. Mostly. I learned how to insert clues in plain sight from editing Kyle Aarons' Kandric Saga! 😁🤣

Nope. The next chapter is the last chapter of this book. Thanks, Darryl. Not every dangling plot thread will be resolved. I had to save some for the next book! Nevada, like many western states, is a Right To Work State. That essentially means that the employer can fire you for any reason or no reason. To collect Unemployment Insurance benefits, the employee must prove the reason(s) are nefarious. Gay folk are not a politically protected minority. So you can be fired for being gay or having gay progeny. Perfectly lawful. Yes, the sequel is being written.

Yeah, the origin has yet to be revealed.
