  1. Glad you want more because I have more story to tell. Don't worry about saying something smart, just say something good or bad. Lets me know people are reading and where I need to tweak and where it is good.
  2. Charlie isn't really a wimp. Chapter 3 shows he can take charge and do what needs to be done. He is just not use to doing so, but then again how many people know how strong they really are until faced with some sort of emergency.
  3. Tipdin I always thought laughter helped a family through hard times. Glad to see you gather for the same humor as well.
  4. Was curious what films families flocked to. If it is the Olsen's then it is the Olsens. I don't know though, we liked both Sister Act movies but I still have a soft spot for the first one.
  5. God Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang was so good. I loved that picture as a kid. Sound of Music too. I liked the first Sister Act better than the second one. Little Shop is a blast. I even played Mushnik at a local theater production. Its a Wonderful Life is a classic all on its own. Thanks for answering.

    Chapter 1

I am glad that the poem evoked a response from you. Word choice in poetry is much harder than in literature. You have a limited time to get your message across. It is one of the reasons I do both. Keeps my mind active and forces me to work on my word choices to truly express my meanings. Thank you so much for reading and commenting on my poem.
  7. The conversation lulled me into a false sense of security. Like music so familiar and then the beat changed The words flew across the room at me Each one was slow painful deliberate They cut like shards of glass The conversation had been such a distraction The lull of waves slapping gently against the beach The storm came from nowhere The words were violent The intent hurtful belittling They were true and false at once. The conversation was completely over The m

  9. I've seen topics on what was your favorite gay film, what made you cry, and a few others. It got me thinking about all the films I have. However when it comes down to favorite films in my family, and I mean my parents own them, I do, and so does my sibling, there were always a few we watched 1. The Wizard of Oz - This came on every year around Thanksgiving. You could bet that the night it was on I was going to bed late. When I got older and we owned it, first on vhs, yes I am that old, and then dvd there would be times the family just sat down and watched it together. It was something we just loved to watch. 2. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - It came on every year around Easter. All that chocolate, the ompa-lompas, the songs, and the incredible Gene Wilder. I mean this is one of those that when it comes on we call each other and watch it even if we aren't in the same state. lol. It is something that binds us together a bit. 3. March of the Wooden Soldiers. Laurel and Hardy in black and white. I remember being scared by the Boogey men and being afraid the one little pig had been eaten. But that film is a classic. So what were your family's favorites?
  10. Watership down did it for me as well but then I have a long list. The Last Unicorn, Bambi, and Dumbo did it for me as a child. I cried through Beaches, and also through Hello Again. The first real gay film to do me in though came out a while ago. - In the gloaming. Cried like a baby.
  11. OMG, you went there. lol. Actually I don't remember the name but yes they have one too. It was a discussion on logo one night.
  12. Thanks Tomas. Most of those I will try. I wish I could say I could keep to a schedule but my work schedule is rather chaotic. But most of the rest I will try to see if I can adjust when these sort of things come up again.
  13. Thanks I'll have to see if I can find that. I appreciate the advice. That might be more painful than it is worth. I think some of the others might be worth investigating for both of us. LOL. Considering how single I am, righty and lefty aren't talking to me any more and it wasn't wearing me out.
  14. Colors, weather, and food can all help create moods. Glad to know that the reasons behind Charlie's shyness is understood. Means I haven't hurt my little guy by not explaining things correctly. Thanks for reading and commenting. It means a lot to me.
  15. Thank you Frostina. Glad you enjoy it. Now if I could just get my job to leave me alone for a bit I could get chapter three completed. Glad Charlie is being well received by those taking the time to read.

    Chapter 1

Thank you Bugeye. Sometimes the best things in life come in surprising moments.
  17. I go through it every couple of months. I usually hit two or three days where sleep just isn't going to come when I'd like it and if I get three hours of sleep I'm lucky.
  18. At the moment suffering through another bout of insomnia. Was just curious what others do when suffering from this joyous thing or are you one of the lucky ones who sees a bed and is instantly asleep. So far did warm milk, a shower, and laid down for two hours bored out of my mind just trying to rest. Can't focus enough to write my story so going through the forums where I can make quick reads and answers.

  20. I believe love finds us when we are not looking. Love at first sight is complicated. The eyes are the windows of the soul. I think sometimes when you look into someones eyes you see something you are drawn to, you want to know. to touch, to love. It is the opening that you must be willing to follow. I've heard it many times. I saw her and knew she had to be my wife. The first time I saw him standing there i knew he was the one. The look allowed something to click in one or the other and then they were willing to put themselves out there and let love find them. So a convoluted answer to a difficult question. I hope it makes sense.
  21. I do, especially if I like the characters. It is almost like telling them I don't care. I know you died but you weren't important enough to see why and how it affected those around you. It is sort of insulting to them. The only time I would say skip it is if you aren't invested in the story to begin with. Then why bother.

    Chapter 1

The Dancer If you just looked quickly you wouldn’t notice The strength that lies beneath that slender form. His body tightens as the music starts And his movements are anything but cautious. Each movement is passionate and alive Which brings a beauty that can’t be denied. Each twist is perfection And you wonder if he will survive. The dance is intense For the story it tells is bittersweet. A lover dying before his time Leaving behind one with no defe

    The Dancer

Dance is one of those beautiful artist talents that you are not always able to capture, especially in words. However sometimes the sheer beauty of it makes you wish to attempt it. The grace of form, the story telling, the art, attempted here in poetry. Enjoy.

    Chapter 1

We are born alone and we die alone. However, we live in the moments we share our lives with others. Your poem makes one stop and look your own life. Thank you for this.
  25. Okay, I'm an English major. I've read both HP and Twilight. I love HP and the movies were a decent take keeping closer than most adaptations ever do. Twilight was not in the same level of writing. I find it how funny how the Twilight books are banned for sex. Considering the only sex that ever happens is in book Four after Bella and Edward are married I find it stupid. The movies were just horrible adaptations. If anyone had any question - Harry is my favorite of the two.
