Oh, Andy -- I see the writing on the wall, or perhaps the summons and complaint. Will he get a hard ass like you or will he get an easy plea bargain for his first offense. Do we get another courtroom chapter? hope hope. I think the untold story here is more than just beer. I see an attitude of rebelliousness, perhaps a bit of alcoholic leaning, and loads of trouble of Dean, Jason, and inevitably Pete and the team. Never a good thing.

This writing style is interesting. It encourages the mind to wander to fill in the gaps, and not be led down the path by the author. I hope my wanders are similar to yours. The chapter was very layed-back, and chatty, but gave a reasonable swath of ideas to motivate imagination. Thanks.
-
Sorry Andy, but you just committed yourself to the next chapter. You can't in good conscience leave us hanging at the edge of a cliff and not provide the answer in the next chapter. The flash fiction format is almost too short for me, but a little is better than none. Thanks, though, for fitting us into your immediate schedule.

Andy, Interesting concept for your various explanations. But really to compare this to the TV version of a movie? Generally the TV episodes fall flat -- not saying this will. Just don't forget other important projects -- just saying. It has been a while since I read Second Shot and The Trial, so it took a bit, including a second read of this vignette, before I was able to pull my mind back to the setting and people. This is short but has the making of an interesting journey with your mind. My first impression of Chapter 1 was that I came into the middle of something, but the second time through, I figured out what was going on, and enjoyed it. I look forward to the next episode. See you on the same shot channel, same shot time, for Chapter 2.

My emotions are all over the place. Pete, Mike, Lee -- Corbin seems to be ruled and controlled by his of the moment emotion, of which the new article comment is a prime example. All the is flying around him seems to never settle into his being. He seems to have a difficult time understanding his own emotional make-up, which also gives him little concept of what others are thinking and what he is doing to others as well. Nice cliff hanger there with the Dean at the very end. Thanks.

Just as Corbin was starting to come to terms with his feelings, understanding the it was his loss of control that left him feeling unhappy with Mike, and even without saying it, with Pete as well, Corbin loses control again with Lee this time. Not a triangle, but a quadrangle of love, dispair, and confusion. Thanks
-
I think Corbin has just been used, and not in a good way. Even though Corbin and Mike confess to being honest and up front with each other, they both are hiding what they truly expect from the other, and cannot be honest with themselves about what is going on between them. While this one one of the sexiest chapters I have read in a long time, it was truly a sad chapter for Corbin. He continues to search but does not find what he is looking for. I hope Pete turns out better for him.

I know, I am slow at getting to this Chapter. The Mike v Pete battle got very interesting in this Chapter. The tongue was not expected, but what better way to create the love triange here. Then Pete does the incredibly nice shirt thing that blows Corbin's whole plan wide open again. This is clearly Corbin's story, and we only catch very slight insights into Pete and Mike's thought processes. Never quite enough to have an ah ha moment about either of them, and where this story is headed. You love to do that. You takes us off in one direction and then without warning, jerk us in a completely different direction. This is a great story again.

Homecoming Part 2: Left, Right, Left
GeR commented on Jwolf's story chapter in Homecoming Part 2: Left, Right, Left
Up to this point I was rooting for Pete. All the foreshaddowing in this Chapter seems to have cut him off. Although my experience is that nothing if final until you say "the end." So I will wait for futher judgment on Corbin's romance until you write it and publish it. Thanks for another insightful, curious, and intense chapter. -
You captured the male inability to communicate well. The expectation that everyone understands what you think and feel, and expecting that they will open right up and communicate back. Pete and Corbin clearly have developed this inability to communicate to a point that neither of them understand each other, and actually don't even understand themselves very well. Corbin is starting to peak out, but he still fails at expressing his feelings. I hope they can open up before its too late. Nice chapter. Thanks.

Nice short story. I hope there will be more, even though you indicate it is complete. I want to know what happens between them!

The Second Cut is the Deepest
GeR commented on Jwolf's story chapter in The Second Cut is the Deepest
I struggled through the chapter, knowing what it was leading to. Corbin has etched a spot in my heart, and I feel his hurt, his insecurity, and even his fears. The epiphany Corbin had about Pete's feelings about his past, his "boyfriends" gave a great insight into their relationship. I hope Pete overcomes his hesitation, his inability to commit, and let himself become close to Corbin. I see lots of parallels between Pete and Kyle and Corbin and Cooper and their relationships, thought process. I look forward to seeking how this works out for both Corbin and Pete. Thanks! -
I almost skipped right by it, but the reference here about Kyle at SMU has to mean that Dakota and Corbin are contemporaries with The List and what would you say a cousin story to A Funny Thing Happened... I am still a Kyle fan, and have been all along! This is very similar to the other stories with insecurity, questioning sexuality and the inability to move forward. I love it. Thanks for this! For sharing your talent and your imagination.

And sometimes keeps us from the truth. Truth about others and truth about ourselves. And I must agree our country is so politically polarized that we are nearing a point of no common ground, which seems to me to be grounded in only a few issues. Thanks. -

I cannot disagree with Dave on his analysis. I thought the "curse" was an interesting statements on people as well. Clearly we see what we want to see in others, and oftentimes that is not a correct view of the person or the world. Lethe was also drawn into that trap as well at time, letting others see him as they wanted to perceive him, but not opening the real Lethe to others. If I were a deep thinker, I would acknowledge the symbolism of our world and even ourselves in the lives, curses and events of these characters. Thanks Andy and Anyta for making us think. -
Kit and Tom. What a nice progression in the story these last few chapters have been. Tom is beginning to develop nicely, and becoming a real person. Pink? Never cared for it much, but my HS picture has a pink shirt, which was great at the time. Give me blues any time. Thanks!

Is this a sit-com script you are writing? You are much more patient that I would be! After about 2 tries, she would have been out the door! Hope things are getting better by now.

This has been here nearly a month without comment. Let me be the first to say that the book is wonderful! A bit of drama, a bit of romance, a bit of the super natural, and a whole lot of talent and craftsmanship. You are both to be congratulated on a work well done! Is there a sequel in the works yet? -

Thanks for the spoiler. At least I am at peace with the story now, just not the next episode! Seattle is it? I miss your writing so much. -

... Forever is Never that Easy (Part 2)
GeR commented on Jwolf's story chapter in ... Forever is Never that Easy (Part 2)
So many still unresolved questions. I do hope you will give an epiloge or another related story. Love you work. I will look forward to the next, whatever that may be. I have straddled between Coop/Kyle and Coop/Chase, and while Chase wins out in the end, Kyle, Spencer and Bass still are a part of his life. Great ending. Thanks! -
...I Never Thought it Could End That Way
GeR commented on Jwolf's story chapter in ...I Never Thought it Could End That Way
Devon was a shocker. After earning the bitch award, she does something to redeam herself. I don't know, I still don't trust her. There has to be some motive behind all this. Chase, well, Chase is Chase. He started to make amends for his earlier betrayal, then falls off the log with Morgan, and then comes back again here with CJ. I don't think I can trust him yet either. MORGAN! I just have to believe you saying that Chase will be doing a good job, so I will watch for it. After all the tension and build up to this point, I hope we have peaked the mountain of terrible for Coop, but the Morgan cliff hanger at the end is a big unknown. Thanks for the chapter. -
...I Tried So Many Times to Do the Right Thing
GeR commented on Jwolf's story chapter in ...I Tried So Many Times to Do the Right Thing
How true the title is. Coop tried so many times to do what he thought was the right thing, but as in real life, trying is not always enough, and the outcome is never certain. I hope that this is the darkest before the dawn, but then what is the dawn? Thanks for the chapter, even if it took a while to get her. -
I just found this! WOW, she is adorable. Lucky parents! She will grow up way too fast. My little baby gets married in March. I have to agree with the comments above that every stage is special. Even the tweenage is fun, although my daughter did not become obsessed, and was still a delight. Enjoy every moment! As for work ---- well you already know what lawyering does to your life, and it only gets worse as your daughter gets older. I love the gallery, I wish I had seen it earlier!
