We began hanging out every couple days when all of us had time. It was pretty staged initially even a little forced, but necessary as we were still getting to know one another and there was virtually no common ground. David offered his place to hang out, and other times it was Chance’s house, or a park, or a coffeeshop. David’s condo was massive, located in the heart of Dupont Circle and was immaculately furnished, which was fitting for David; both seemingly stepped out of GQ photospreads. H

Interviewers have 'stock questions' they ask everyone. For instance: What can you bring to the job? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What is your biggest weakness? Be prepared to answer these questions in a way that doesn't seem like you memorized the answer!! Interviews are annoying because you have to puff out your chest to seem willing and able, and competent so if you aren't big into praising your abilities, start doing so now. The last question I posted is a way you can make a fault into a good quality. I had to serve as a reference for an assistant and they asked that very question and I said, "Well, so-and-so is extremely thorough which means she likes to take her time and make sure she's doing the job right." Chances are, most interviewers are bored with interviewing, so it's always nice to ask questions and get their minds active. Sometimes if you ask the right question, you can ingratiate yourself to their good side, this works even better if the person who is interviewing you is your potential boss. Some jobs have you interview with several people in the office; obviously, try to impress them all, ESPECIALLY the office assistant. Don't apologize for sucking at an interview. If you don't know the answer to a question, don't fake it; own up to it. Don't backpedal, and don't repeat things you've mentioned before. Do NOT get defensive if they ask you questions. Don't fake enthusiasm, interviewers can generally see through that. Find nice ways to segue through the interview process to drop in things you're good at. Don't use your resume as a checklist of things to talk about unless they ask first. Sculpt your resume for the job you're applying for. *** From the employer's side of things, I tend to hire people I get good energy from and someone I would have to train once and who would need little to no prompting. I've had my share of awful assistants (all work study) and some amazing ones that I would refer instantly if they needed it. The employer/employee relationship is very symbiotic which entails a lot of give and take. They are there to make your life easier, but they aren't punching bags or someone you can blame if things go south. Hope that's helpful. lb.

What movie or movies were family favorites in your house?

I follow Glee and found the episode enjoyable but not great. I was saddened to see Sam not be in the series anymore but aside from a few side stories in the previous season, he wasn't really shining through. As much as I want to like TIna's character, she's just there to ... simply be there. I feel like she's not written very well, or at all in most episodes. Hopefully this season will change that. I hated what they did with Kurt last season, so I'm hoping he's less...blah. I'm not a fan of Blaine, sure he's adorable, but there's not much else to his personality. I find myself dreading each time he's on screen and not singing. Also, I admit, I'm a Karofsky fan and secretly/openly hope he and Kurt get together. lb.

I saw one of these on a jeep recently and didn't know what they were until this thread. Now, retroactively, I want to add nipples and call them trucker saggy boobs. >.> lb.

Hurro! I'm Ramon. A friend who is disturbingly tall started calling me Little Buddy because I'm 5'2'' so the name stuck and makes a nifty screenname. I just turned 30 a few weeks ago. My hobbies tend to be most things creative/industrious, so drawing, oil painting, knitting. Kind of a boring person, so my life can be construed as 'stable' because of it. I actually stumbled upon this site looking for more works from Adam Phillips who writes CrossCurrents and joined shortly after. Incidentally I found his stuff super inspirational so I started writing. GA happens to be a place I dump stories and get feedback/cookies/bacon. Had my heart broken only once and even though it was like 10 years ago, the feelings will probably remain until I die. *shrugs* It happens. I can't complain, though, I've been in a relationship for 8 years with a great guy. Nice to meet you all! lb.

Oooh this is a fun thread! Physical: 1. Broad Shouldered 2. Stocky 3. Taller than me (over 5'2'') 4. Interesting nose (just something I've noticed when all the men I've been attracted to) 5. Friendly faced (tends to be broader/rounder with a friendly smile!) 6. Facial Hair (totally optional) Personality: 1. Creative 2. Humorous 3. Romantic 4. Stable 5. Has a strong sense of self 6. Witty Life Style: 1. Industrious (I think this might warrant an explanation: Someone who has a strong need to build/create things. Not necessarily associated with artistic). 2. Stable (yeah it appears in two categories, so sue me) 3. Willing to meet in the middle of most things. 4. Non-smoker, non-drinker (the latter I'm 'okay' with) 5. Animal lover 6. Loves to cook lb.

"Tonight, Tonight" Time is never time at all You can never ever leave without leaving a piece of youth And our lives are forever changed We will never be the same The more you change the less you feel Believe, believe in me, believe That life can change, that you're not stuck in vain We're not the same, we're different tonight Tonight, so bright Tonight And you know you're never sure But you're sure you could be right If you held yourself up to the light And the embers never fade in your city by the lake The place where you were born Believe, believe in me, believe In the resolute urgency of now And if you believe there's not a chance tonight Tonight, so bright Tonight We'll crucify the insincere tonight We'll make things right, we'll feel it all tonight We'll find a way to offer up the night tonight The indescribable moments of your life tonight The impossible is possible tonight Believe in me as I believe in you, tonight lb.

I hate when people insert the word "actually" and "literally" into their sentences. Inserting "actually" sounds like whatever they're saying is shocking, when usually they're just stating a fact. And liberal use of the word "literally" makes you sound like you need a dictionary. I *actually* really like that. and I literally can't stand that guy. lb.

I've only had 1 ex and he was the sweetest guy ever. He baked sweets and was an excellent cook. Came out to his parents well before I did (this prompted me to come out). We broke up because I moved. >.> So..not really in keeping with the scary ex thread. My bad. lb.

WoW addict here (but I can quit any time I want, really). Aside from that, not much else; I've dabbled in Guild Wars, and Starcraft 1 and 2, Warcraft 3. I am definitely looking forward to The Secret World but am worried that it'll suck. We'll have to see. lb.

My aunt and uncle were together for 26 years before they finally got married and only because their accountant said it's better that they do for tax purposes. I stopped by one day after work and asked them how they were doing and my aunt said, "Oh we got married today." I was a little floored by how cavalier they were. Reflecting on this some, I realize that what they did seemed so in keeping with how they perceive their relationship; they didn't need a grand ceremony or rings to signify or justify their feelings for one another. They aren't religious, nor am I, so the idea of marriage seemed superfluous. I did chat with a straight friend about this and he feels emotionally and spiritually compelled to be paired with someone with the bonds of holy matrimony so I can respect that for some people it's not just something you do. Do I believe in marriage? No, not really. It's not necessary to me, but as I am relatively young, my feelings can certainly change on the subject. lb.

What movies creep you out every time you watch them?
littlebuddy replied to Cyhort's topic in The Lounge
Truman Show. I thought it was suppose to be a comedy but I thought the premise and movie just...creeped me out. lb. -
Thank you for reading it, Andy, I initially had a huge chunk about Eli's adventures in college, but felt it detracted from his friendship with Chance so it was left out. The time jumps are a bit clunky, and I promise not to have too many of them. I did have *** to separate scenes, but the cut and paste kinda omitted them, I'll go through and add them back in. Sorry about that! I'm glad you are enjoying the story and I hope to crank out a few more chapters soon (which might not happen because the semester starts pretty soon and the chapters need a LOT of editing before they see the light of day). lb.

I like the build up more than any sex scene. Especially if there's like chapters of sexual anxiety. When the sex comes (and it usually does) I feel deflated and that the story either has too much sex thereafter or the story just kinda peters out. lb.

Hey Conner, I got your review when I was on vacation and responding by tiny keyboard on my phone didn't seem very fun, so I decided to wait until I was back at work to respond. Mack and David will take a while to warm up to. David is probably the hardest to get a good sense of for chapters down the road. He is almost always 'there' but tends to fade into the background. The story is formatted this way mostly because I had every intention of turning this story into a graphic novel. You know Eli and Mason are all that's left but not why. I kinda wanted readers to have that sense of dread throughout the story; no matter how happy the group is, you know deep down inside something horrible happens. I'm evil like that. Thank you for the review btw! lb.

Chapter 3 - Circles David drove off as I began walking down the ramp and my mind was aflutter with the thoughts of what had happened in the past few hours. It had gotten pretty cold and I scolded myself for not bringing a warmer jacket. Heck, my mind was so clouded by things to expect on my date with David that I forgot to bring a scarf at the very least. Upon nearing the metro, I nearly bumped into someone lying on a bench. He was a big guy, dressed in jeans and a extremely dirty white shirt
