  2. This is one of the shows I wanted to see this fall, but I'm not quite sold on the premise yet. I dunno, I'll have to think about it some more I think.

    Lugh is a GLEEK! :wacko: I am counting down the hours... wondering what they will get into next. I quite honestly missed the rerun on Friday. They played some other show instead. Sighs. They need more tv like this, it's fun.

    there are some really awesome actors and actresses on the show. and many of them really can sing and dance! (even the football players!) although I must admit I do not like the cheerleading coach -- what a bitch! but I guess she's just written that way.
  6. yes, I have been writing... just not very much. Not that anyone really cares any more. I mean most people barely even knows about this forum unless I like point it out, but that's mostly because I've not been posting in here, so my fault I guess. I had thought to write this for the fall anthology, but changed my mind, then thought maybe for the writing contest, but didn't get enough words done, so maybe I'll get it done for the winter anthology, it will fit the theme, at least the second half of it will. I might post the first half on e-fiction as a stand alone. I don't know yet. It needs editing first. Heh, any takers?

  9. That was actually a pretty interesting article. I knew kids were coming out earlier, but just not how many, sheesh, pretty soon they are going to be saying it's 1 in 5! Although quite honestly I'm glad to see the GSAs in the middle schools and tolerance being taught to both students and administration. I'm quite tired of hearing "that's so gay" from the kiddos myself and won't tolerate the phrase being uttered in my presence, most especially by my son.

    Ok well I watched Glee last night. No one was in chat to talk to about it. I was totally bummed out. Usually there are. It was a good episode. Loved the coming out scene and the dancing football players. Sighs. Six more days. Talk to me.
  11. Interesting, around here it's not uncommon to see full nudity of all ages in the locker room at the gym -- we go to a family gym so it's males ages five and up in the locker room. I do know that DC has showered full nude with the boy scouts -- the older scouts told the younger ones it was for "tick checks" and they got over it very quickly, although some of the adult "scouters" had issues with nudity in the showers. (Adults and boys did not shower together btw) He has also showered full nude with the swim team starting when he was nine or so. When I was in high school it was not uncommon to shower full nude, and showers were required after gym. His high school does not require showers after gym, so he does not fully strip in the locker room.

    Hello Mike! Um lemme see, you're on a gay website and you're teasing us about your sexual orientation... could you possibly be um... bisexual? So, it's a girl. That's nice. We don't really care. But it's nice. So you are a normal guy. Yay! Let's see, about a year ago, you some how came out (or were outted) to them as bisexual or maybe went as far as gay, and they freaked because they saw their little boy with other little boys but then you met the girl you are dating now and they are more relieved because she's not a he and they can handle that better at least until you go through another boy phase... you get along well with your brothers because they either don't mind your sexuality or don't really see it as a threat to their own masculinity thus making it not a problem.   19. 50+ of them.... not so bad. I know books are banned (or challenged) for various reasons throughout the years. Being as we homeschooled I made the banned book list our reading list most years. Yes, intentionally. Oddly, he picked of his own accord a banned book list book to read for his summer reading project. There is a site (and when I locate it I'll post it) that tells you why books were challenged, where, and the dispostion of the challenge. Every year at the beginning of the school year some brand new, politically conservative, overly protective, sometimes religious kindergarten parent gets shocked so badly that they piss their panties and call their lawyer over the reading material in the library at the local school. If it's not same sex pairing penguins, which do happen in nature btw, then it's the story of two princes or my two mommies or heaven forbid the kindergarten curriculum which includes non-traditional types of families.

  23. The ink idea isn't a bad one. A sectional notebook works too, with a different section for different types of ideas/stories. I've had a couple types of notebooks I've worked with in the past, but I'm very partial to blue or black ink. I think just finding the thing that works for you is the thing that is best. If it works, go with it.

I keep a file of old stuff too, arranged by year and content (some of it is just character development, some is just plot development, some is openings, some is just random scenes/conversations/whatever) I have my oldest stuff printed out and kept in notebooks, including the first novel I ever wrote (handwritten on yellow legal pads btw with blue ballpoint pen) that I leaf through from time to time to remind me where I've been and where I should be going. I even keep the stuff I cut from novels (like the 200k words I cut once that I put on a CD and mailed to my sister for safe keeping) just in case I change my mind.
