I love the ending! Tobias has a loving home with Uncle Mitch, stepdad has become a caged bird, and mum has a fresh start amongst the kiwifruits. The future looks bright for Tobias, who has shown talent both as a musician and a budding architect! The only fly in the ointment: Tobias is left with a house to rent! 😂

What Grandmother calls her Grandson an "abomination?" This silly Neko prejudice reminds me of the Star Trek episode "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield” and makes as much sense. At least, with Damian, Jordan, and Lysander, the little one will grow up with love. 😊

I'm a bit troubled by Uncle's feeling the need to give Chris pointed ears: Would Chris really face discrimination if his ears remain human? For the ascension ceremony, is Patri going to insist that he appear with pointed ears? In that case, his acceptance would be predicated on a lie--a little one, maybe, but still a lie.

Halor, your act of vandalism was both a social statement and an act of revenge. However, your decision to rob the store changed your act into a mere theft, stripping your actions of any self-perceived justification. Finally, your decision to shoot at a guard escalated the crime to attempted murder: While you were indeed a lazy bum, I never pegged you for a potential murderer, and I can't help but wonder if you were acting under your own volition or were being coerced by magic. (I can't forget the door which was locked but only while Jordan's apartment burned.) A magic user may still be manipulating the action from behind the scenes.

Are all Elves oversexed or just Chris? 😂 (Or is he just being a teen? 🤗) If Chris can break into the Elven realm--and into the palace, no less--can he now teleport anywhere he wishes, even in the regular world? (Now, Chris, if you can make yourself invisible, your perving ability becomes unlimited! 😂😂😂)

🎵 "...Hey, you know they got away. They headed down south, and they're still running today..." 🎶 (I couldn't resist.) Berry Gordy would make them into a "soul" group called the Bishopettes! (I must be in a musical frame of mind this morning. 😂) The Grammys, of course! And the award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance goes to Master Tobias Garrison! My silliness aside, a lovely chapter about community coming together--wanting to be together--in sharing a community gift and resource. (I love that the number of people wanting to be present just grew and grew! 😊)

I love the mystery as to why Chris is absorbing artifacts from the various Elven dynasties! With Chris now prone to Kumhakta, and with a pressing need for additional magical training, he may be forced to live in the Elven realm whether he wants to or not. (What would have happened if Yal and Patri had not been around to perform Hakta for him?) And why would Chris need this amount of power to begin with? I'm fearful for him! (As an aside, if Elves of a thousand years ago were powerful enough to be at risk for Kumhatka, then what happened to the Elves to diminish their power to the point where Kumhatka was no longer a concern? )

At this point, Chris's very aura tells supernatural folk that he is not what he appears, so truth would seem the best approach--particularly where his allies are concerned. (I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if the King agrees.)

The Tower gives Chris what he needs, so the bracelet can be considered a necessity: He will certainly find out what it's for in the near future.

Addison will no longer have to worry about paying rent.... I must say that I'm disappointed in the wife (again) for fleeing with the husband rather than choosing to distance herself from his actions. If she is forced to go to gaol with him, then who will take care of Tobias' half sibs? (They are definitely not Uncle Mitchell's responsibility and would be at risk for going into care.) Let's hope that she, at least, avoids a custodial sentence.

Now, the Blood Army is engaging in synchronized gorilla attacks on multiple targets. Our heroes acquitted themselves well, but what of the other targets? (Victor, August, communicate with your counterparts quickly, as you may be able to frustrate/prevent some of these attacks!) Science frequently advances during war, and I don't think it a surprise that Chris's magic also advances with experience and practical application. In Chris, the Elves will be acquiring a seasoned warrior. The Blood Army is being tactical in broadening its objectives, as it will now be able to recruit even more discontents. They also increase the danger to the entire civilized world.

An offer Tony can't refuse? Why does this phraseology make me nervous? Great grandfather paid a horrific price, but his decision to turn the family businesses legitimate will protect his family members and give them a better life. However, I'm worried about his saying that the work (in legitimizing the businesses) is "almost done": Would he ask Tony to take over a crooked enterprise, even if the final goal is to decriminalize it? And would such a job put Tony at risk?

I'm interested in finding out what the rich, formal Grandfather has in mind for our two relative youngsters. ("When Don Vittorio Martellini invited you to lunch, you showed up. And you did so on time.") Clearly, he wants them for a specific purpose and not just for family chit-chat.

Hmmm. If the air is "dense" and "intimidating" around Chris, his wish to travel incognito in the Elven realm may not be doable. Further, his aura may actually identify him to (mark him for attack by) the Blood Army. However, his ability to perceive "ill intentions" and "dark thoughts" may also allow Chris to sense Blood Army personnel, allowing him a few moments to plan a counterattack before joining in a fight.

I'd love to see Chris travel incognito into the Elven realm. (Field trip!) Leo and he could glamour up with pointed ears and traipse around the countryside, either with or without an Elven guide! So cool!! (Baltimore may also be a field trip, but it's not quite the same. )

The Tower of Knowledge seems more intent than ever on expanding Chris's Elven education: Is Chris simply ready to receive more information, or is the Tower accelerating his instruction because of an upcoming calamity? And as a bonus, Chris learns more about the mating habits of Vampires!

The Elves have not pressed Chris to go to an Elven university--at least, not yet--but they could rightly point out that Stoker has no Elven study programs to match their own: Chris may ultimately find himself attending two universities at the same time (even if only by correspondence). One of Chris's greatest drawbacks is being third in line to a throne for a people he doesn't really know. He has a lot of study before him to reach the threshold of knowledge he has to possess for his position. (Perhaps his nocturnal visits to the Tower of Knowledge are a means of sleep learning to catch him up magically!)

Were Alex et al really able to throw the aliens off the trail so easily? (Noah was dripping blood, so he should have been easy to follow.) I'm fearful that the aliens may be patiently trying to track our heroes back to the fort and won't tip their hand until it's too late. Eli's heart is in the right place, but what can one young kid do against a town ruled by a teen bully and his henchmen? Even with one of the henchmen dead, and even with Alex's backing, our heroes would be taking a big risk to try and take down the bad guys. That said, I don't think they'll abandon the children to be raped. We'll just have to wait and see how they ultimately decide to handle the situation.
