  1. It'll all come out in the wash @Okiegrad
  2. I think Robbie is kind of banking on the fact that Nathan will probably find it difficult to find anyone who meets with his criteria. Despite agreeing to participate, Robbie is obviously not entirely comfortable with the idea of someone else getting involved, even if only the once. He would rather it didn't happen but he doesn't want to appear boring or prudish to Nathan and give him reason to look elsewhere for his fun. Robbie thinks he is being smart by insisting on these clauses and maybe he is. Nathan may get fed up of looking and just forget about it or their relationship may not make it far enough to worry about it anyway. You mention the telephone number Robbie kept from an admirer which is true. I don't however see him doing this with the intention of ever actually calling the guy. He was flattered by the guy's interest and it was the first time that anyone had asked him on a proper date but I don't think it was his intention to ever act on it. He probably kept it more as a souvenir or simply because he thought it wouldn't be nice to throw it away after the boy had put everything on the line to give it to him. In Robbie's mind the least he could do was to keep it. Thanks for another in depth comment, @NimirRaj
  3. Tom, I think is pretty much straight but the kiss is difficult to explain. I think he had been planning it since the trip was arranged as a bit of revenge for what Robbie did in London. It was essentially supposed to be a joke but there are obviously a lot of feelings left over on both sides. Tom has balls but I wonder if he would have tried it if Don had still been there. You got it! I can reveal now that Nathan's little acting job leads to bigger things. Pretty soon he's fronting a boy band of his own and at sixteen he adopts the stage name, Tyrone Spencer. By seventeen he's topping the charts and embarking on a successful solo career. All is going well until he goes to London for the Brit Awards and bumps into Tom's brother, the plumber. Oh, did I mention that Nathan was born in the US?.
  4. Tom didn't say who he overheard. It may not be Nathan but it certainly involves him, we know that much. Thanks @chris191070
  5. Robbie may want to block it out at the moment and pretend everything is rosy, but his curiosity will no doubt get the better of him. I don't think it will be long before he's demanding more info from his friend. Tom may not get a chance to hang up his coat before Robbie starts calling him.
  6. I was nearly a week into grade eleven and already my coming out was beginning to feel like yesterday’s news. My popularity had diminished somewhat from the first day, and on Friday I was totally eclipsed by a new arrival. Someone more English than me. Taller, better looking, and straight! Those were Nicola’s words, but there was no doubting Tom’s pedigree as he boarded the old yellow boneshaker for his first and last day at Stephenson High School. I was demoted to the middle seats to make ro
  7. This is a good topic. I forgot to vote so I'll do it after. I don't believe segregating people but I do feel more comfortable in a mostly gay establishment or part of town. There are certain places where I know for sure I will be welcomed and looked after but I don't like the idea of gay only. In England, the best nightclubs are generally gay. I know it's a sweeping statement but it's true and a lot of these clubs operate a strict gays only policy on the door. This created problems for me because most of my friends were straight. I persuaded them one night to go to one of these clubs and they enjoyed themselves so much they wanted to keep going back. I know, I was dubious too! To get in, of course, they had to pretend to be gay which was quite bizarre because there were a lot of straight guys doing the same. The security knew it and would try to weed them out from the line up. If someone was suspected of being straight, they would have to answer a series of ridiculous questions designed to 'out' them. Like what park was gay pride held in this year or what music do you listen to? Who's your favourite pop star? WTF? This is absolutely true! It was entertainment on its own and worth lining up in the poring rain for. I'm pretty sure however, that a lot of gay people were refused entry because they didn't fit the stereotype. The prize for any hetero who managed to outsmart the doormen was a dark, sweaty basement filled with gay men and women dancing topless to deafening drum and bass. Oh and a handful of straight guys who were smart enough to answer Kylie Minogue as their favourite pop star. I have since ditched this frenetic lifestyle and in favour of a more subdued approach. I prefer restaurants now to clubs and bars but I still wouldn't feel comfortable in a gay only establishment.
  8. You have led an interesting life, although obviously not an easy one. Maybe you should write about it, if you haven't already.
  9. I get the impression you wasn't an average, run-of-the-mill, kid. That's not an insult but a compliment. I never had any stuffed animals but like you, I still have a Teddybear in the cupboard.
  10. Those eyes! Wow! A magnificent creature.
  11. A very good interview with some interesting and unpredictable answers. Snow Leopard in Florida? I already knew about the hockey addiction though. This has got me interested. I love the photographs too.
  12. Thank you @Krista

  22. It's about time something embarrassing happened to Don instead of Robbie all the time. He needs to be compromised! Thanks @droughtquake More than just toothpaste!
