It's still too early to see exactly where this story is going, but you've definitely got my interest. Can't wait till next Monday and the next chapter. Good start, KC!

Certifying Doomsday cliffhanger-free
mickey1952 replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
My mama brought me up to not lie, but in the interest of getting the last chapter up as quickly as possible, here goes: Doomsday is cliffhanger free. OMG, I'm probably going to hell now! LOL!!! -
Circumnavigation (99+55) Doomsday

Incredible! I'm literally speechless. Some of the best reading I've done in a long time, and that includes New York Times bestselling authors. I'm not even trying to figure out how this ends any longer. Just gonna ride it out! Bravo, CJ! -
The good guys just can't seem to catch a break! How can it be that, no matter how much caution and precaution our heroes take, Bridget always seems to be two steps ahead? A worthy opponent indeed! It just seems harder and harder to see how Trev, Shane, et al get out of this mess. Maybe they can find a way to use Dean to their advantage. Seeing a happy ending slip even further away just makes me want it even more. The good guys need, and deserve, a few breaks. Let's keep our fingers crossed for them!

Circumnavigation (99+54) Final Rendezvous

I agree with bikerman. I used to read only completed stories, but sooner or later you deplete the store of stories that capture your interest. So now I'm left, more often than not, with current stories like Circumnavigation, or Learning Lessons, or Growing Josh, etc. All of them, and many more, all worthy of my time, but also leaving me at the mercy of the author's timetable. Curses, you evil goat, that you write such compelling fiction, that you torture myself and so many others with an increasingly difficult timeline in which to exist. Waiting for each new chapter reminds me of the old saying that straight men have had to contend with when it comes to the opposite sex. "Can't live with it; can't live without it." The only thing worse than waiting for each new chapter is the realization of not having one at all in a few, short weeks. Evil, pure evil!! -
One of the first posts I ever made concerned some less than friendly comments about Dom having taken a writing break. I said back then what true Domaholics are stating now. Sometimes life gets in the way, sometimes our creative writing talents hit a wall, or God forbid, something worse has happened. But until we get evidence to the contrary, I believe Dom is alive and well and has a legitimate reason for his silence. And even if the reason is legitimate only in his mind, it is, after all HIS mind to interpret as he chooses. Dom is the reason I first came to GA, his stories are still worth reading and rereading, and I hope newbies take the time to seek out his talents. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that he's keeping up to date with things here, and is chuckling to himself about all the fuss we Domaholics accord him. But it's all worth it, and if he ever decides to come out into the light again, we're here waiting, with open arms and hearts. Hope he's well and happy!

Circumnavigation (99+53) The Grand and Deadly Design
mickey1952 replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
I'm beginning to wonder what, if anything, can be done to get out ahead of Bridget! It seems as though there is no one or nowhere that she can't reach or buy. We just have to have faith that the goat wouldn't take us on a two year Odyssey only to gift us with a tragic ending. Once again, CJ, thanks for a chapter full of mystery and intrigue. Apparently it's going to take someone much smarter than I to guess how this will all play out in the end. Bravo! -
Circumnavigation (99+52) 'Till Death do them Part

Come on, everyone! Get creative and get on the bandwagon. Come up with your own substitute word or phrase for cliffhanger, then share it with all of us. Hey, I just thought of another one! How about "a goat grabber"? Or maybe "goat-tastrophe". -

I like both "Intense moments..." and goat gimmicks. Here's another possibility: glaring goat gobsmackers. -
Circumnavigation (99+52) 'Till Death do them Part

I don't have the right vocal range or ability to scream; I don't think I could conjure one if my very life depended on it. But I did manage a totally respectable roar as I read the last line of this chapter and realized there was no more. I can't imagine any more suspense and nail-biting tension if you were one to actually use cliffhangers! I desperately don't want this story to end, yet I can't wait for the ending. Thanks, CJ! (I think.) -
Circumnavigation (99+50) Countdown to Doomsday
mickey1952 replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
There are a lot of theories about how the boys epic adventure will conclude. But as we all know, the crafty goat can't be trusted to follow convention, so I'm certain the last couple of chapters will contain plenty more twists and turns. As mentioned by others, what about the claim that anyone who sees the tape is doomed to death; or the infamous doll; or any one of several other clues (or diversions????). And I didn't really see Gitmo coming. Maybe the Falklands isn't such a bad idea after all. However it all wraps up, one thing is for sure. It's been one hell of a ride!! Hats off to you, CJ! -
What a greal feel-good story! Let's just hope Mattie and CJ's parents don't wreak havoc when all of this eventually comes out.
-
You obviously do a ton of research for your stories, CJ. They're full of subject and geographical detail and make for a very satisfying read. But we learn a little more about the author once in a while, like the fact that you've actually been in that area of South America. Very interesting. But I have to admit that the last paragraph was anything but what I expected next. How the hell did she get that sat phone number!? Sure glad you don't use cliffhangers, you old goat! (Wink, wink). Glad you're back and feeling better.

Circumnavigation (99+47) White Hell
mickey1952 replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
Here I was, trying to figure out where things were headed from here, congratulating the guys on some great seamanship, and then.....that phone call. As cunning as the Witch is, as sure as I was that she had something brewing in that evil mind of hers, I just didn't see that phone call coming. You continue to keep us on our toes as well as on the edge of our seats. Quite a balancing feat! Welcome back, CJ! -
I love this story, but then again, Working It Out is one of the best gay stories out there (IMHO), so it should come as no surprise that Don has come up with another winner. I'm really partial to stories that have young gay fathers and their kids in the storyline, and Beloved is hitting on all cylinders. Thanks, Don, and have a great New Year!

I really enjoyed the first book, so I'm glad the story is continuing. And I have to admit that Terry's ideas about the direction the story is heading make sense. It'll be interesting to see if he's right, and if not, even more interesting to see how they actually go. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Oops! Sorry, Andrew. I called you Red at the end of my review. I'd just written a review for reddirtwriter and got mixed up!
-
Glad to see you're continuing the story. I really enjoyed the first part and this chapter was a good start to the second. Wonder who the blond-headed stranger in the truck is. Hmmmm. I have an idea, but we'll just have to wait and see. A nice Christmas gift for our stockings. Thanks, Red!

Circumnavigation (99+46) Now It's Personal
mickey1952 replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
Another great chapter, CJ, and once again, well worth the wait. In the holiday spirit I tried to find some sympathy for Julie, but it was a tall order. I did a little research (a very little! LOL) and am worried about Trev & Shane's choice of route. Looks like it is indeed a dangerous choice. But what's even more troubling is the witch, seemingly only a few steps behind. Watch your six, guys!! Glad you had a chance to get away, CJ, and hope after a few days to get over your cold and get back up to snuff, that you're back to the grindstone in order to keep feeding the Trevor frenzy. Take care! -
Circumnavigation (99+41) Full Circle
mickey1952 replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
Wow! Now that's what I call a chapter. Things are really moving fast now. I was especially happy to see that Bridget's own decisions helped to protect Kookaburra and the family from disaster. Also sounds like Greg Fowler is a good guy to have as a brother-in-law and uncle. I'm still wondering about the second half of Moorcroft's story coming out next Sunday. There's gotta be something about it that is going to cause more trouble down the line. Great read, C.J.! Thanks, now can't wait for the next chapter. Damn, what are we going to do when it's all over? Hope you've got another story on the boards! -
Circumnavigation (99+39) Gobsmacked
mickey1952 replied to C James's topic in C James Fan Club's Topics
Wow! Believe it or not there are still a few places in the Colorado mountains that don't have internet access. Couldn't wait till I got back to civilization to get my Circumnavigation fix. (But it's still great in the mountains, nonetheless.) Didn't get to read Gobsmacked till Friday!! But I loved the expanded chapter. It's going to be really interesting to see how all the loose ends get tied up with just a few chapters to go. I'm really worried though about Gray locating the guys and watching their every move, not to mention his surprise uderneath Atlantis. And if that weren't enough, now the whole family is coming together, along with Kookaburra, to boot! You can still keep us wondering, worrying, and on the edge of our seats, CJ! Way to go! -
Wow! What a great story. Like RobV, I'm not really all that excited about 3-way stories, but I have to make an exception here. Great storyline and, as always, great writing. What really makes me happy is that Jake is the first story I've read as a subscribing member. CJ's rant about lack of feedback on Circumnavigation got me off my butt and I finally posted a message to let him know how much I liked it. I've read all of his other stories, as well as those of Dom Luka, Don Hanratty, and too many others to mention over the last few years. And I've even written to a couple them once in a great while. But CJ helped me realize that once in a while isn't nearly enough. I also decided that since I could afford the $8 a month, itwas the least I could do. And Jake is a great way to confirm I've made the right decision. Now I can't wait to read more Premium Content stories along with the free content, too. Thanks again, CJ, and thanks also to all of you who write some really great stories for all of us to enjoy. Keep up the good work!
